A Bit Too Heavy
Good Design, but can't put notebook vertically in the compartment. Weight is 6.1lb, adding the notebook 7.5lb + ac adapter etc, it's quite heavy to carry around. Otherwise, it's a good notebook case in other sense.

Nice little bag
This bag is compact, very light, and cheap. It can hold your compact or mid-size camcorder, it's charger, and a few extra tapes. It's a nice bag to have if you just bring your camcorder on family vacations. It is also very durable. If you have a larger camcorder or use your camcorder frequently I suggest a larger more expensive bag.

Worked like a charm
I used this on a recent trip overseas. It performed beautifully out of the box. It came with a variety of tips that plug into my laptop, but I only use one. The rest just kinda sit there. It would have been nice if they had some sort of carry case to keep them all together. Regardless, it's small, very lightweight and plugs right in to the airplane. It also has a cigarette lighter adapter, although I haven't tried that yet. It was a little difficult getting the plug out of the socket on the plane, but I was able to easily coax it out with the leverage of a fork.

I had to make sure that the plane I was riding had the appropriate power plug in the row I was sitting. Many airlines have them in all premium class cabins and several have them in certain rows/seats in economy class cabins. Check with your airline for availability.

I've recently bought a power tip for my nokia phone (from another vendor), but have not used it yet. True, you can't use your mobile phone on the plane, but at least you can charge it for when you land.

As great as this unit is, it does not replace your normal laptop power supply. It runs directly on DC (as opposed to the AC one finds in the wall plugs), so you will still need to tote your traditional power supply around as well.

Good space, decent padding, fit my large notebook.
I am very pleased with the combination of space for goodies (pockets, etc.), room for my large Winbook J4, and the padding. It's a sturdy case with lots of pockets and you can operate your laptop in-case (zip open lid, not slide in). Great for the price. I do not think it's the best for frequent travelers, but for to and from business locations it works fine.

    Just another Battery
Think of it as duracell and duracell ultra. You could also do Energiser or Energise T2. This is just the one which packs the extra punch. It's just a battery. Nothing more. But it is better than the Ni-MH ones and the other you can buy. Buy it if you take long trips frequently while playing games (like me!)

Happy w/ Wireless Router -- Unhappy w/ Support & Manual
Setup of Wireless Router & Wireless Adapter Card took 4 long evenings. Installed on Dell laptop running W2K Pro. Technical support was generally poor. Experienced very long wait time on hold only to have call dropped. Same result on second call. Irate tech support staff member disconnected me! Got better support from Verizon DSL supplier vs. Linksys tech support line. Over 6 or so calls to Linksys support, often could not understand their instructions (they're evidently located somewhere far outside US and have3 trouble with the language). Initial install resulted in "Continuous Blue Screen Rebooting of laptop" (not a fun thing. Took about 30 hours and 20 or so calls to tech support, to resolve. Once installed, wireless Linksys system is running very well. Once first laptop was set up, second install and setup on laptop with Win XP was a breeze. Net, net: very happy with hardware but unhappy with poor tech support and hard to follow manual.

p.s. Feel "blue screen continuous reboot" issue on W2K Pro likely a software issue that may not exist on XP. Be sure to follow instructions for W2K very, very carefully.

Excellent range. New security features. Easy set up
I bought this along with the Linksys WRT54G wireless router. I have a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows XP. The setup was easy using the included instructions and Windows Zero Wireless Configuration. New drivers (ver3.20.21.0) are available from Linksys. The range is excellent in my house, at about 100feet through 1 wall the signal strength is good at 48Kbps. Using it outside I can connect at 11Kbps at about 200 ft from the house. The provided instructions are horrible for configuring security other than WEP 128 for WIndows XP.

Linksys supports the newer more secure WPA protocol and I highly recommend using it since WEP 128 is almost useless to prevent specific attacks against your network. You should use WPA-PSK (Pre-Shared Key) with TKIP encryption on the router and on the properties of the wireless card. Though Linksys has supported WPA since May you won't find anything about how to configure it on the card and router in their knowledge base. The Key can be any letter, number and a few symbols from 8-63 characters long. You can also set the Group Key renewal 0-99,999 sec. I set it to 0. Under the IEEE 802.1x authentication set the EAP type to PEAP and uncheck boxes for "Authenticate as computer when information is available" and "Authenticate as guest..." unless you use these features. Also, change the SSID and don't broadcast it and use MAC filtering to lockdown your network.

    Much faster!
Well this is a definite improvement in speed over the old 802.11 cards. It was a cinch to set up and seems to hold a better and stronger connection. Definitely a good deal!

    Impractical
This just didn't work out for me. First, the on/off button kept getting hit while in my travel bag, leaving me with no Palm on one trip and virtually no power left on another. On top of that, blank notes kept being left due to this issue. The leather flap is constantly in the way when you try and enter something. I gave up and bought the hard case as a replacement. It's smaller and much sturdier so shouldn't have any of the above problems. Plus it opens up all the way for easy use.

I'm trying the zippered version next
I've used this case for my Palm 500 for several months now; it suffices, but could be improved upon. Here are a few things that bug me: Over time the slots that hold the expansion cards loosen and the cards fall out easily. Since the case isn't completely closed, this could be a problem. I've also found that the design of the case causes the front buttons to be depressed if only a little pressure in applied to the case, for example, I couldn't put it in the cargo pocket of my work pants - I'm a RN and a paramedic - without hearing the distinctive clicking from a depressed button just from the movement of my legs. If you're a bit less active with the Palm, then that's probably not a big deal.

Aside from those concerns the case looks great, protects the screen quite well (I usually just toss it into my backpack and it's been fine) and does hold all that Palm claims. My biggest problem has been the expansion card slots loosening too much. I'm ordering the closed zippered version; that should resolve my concerns.

    Great case!
This is -the- case for the m50x series. Not only does it have plenty of space and slots for SD cards, credit cards, and ID cards, but it has a zippered closure that protects the Palm from lint and dust. Your screen will be less likely to be scratched. It also contains a tiny notepad that attaches to a leather flap. A nice touch, but I would recommend that you just discard the notepad and use the plain leather flap as a buffer between the Palm and the SD and credit cards. You lose a bit of functionality with the loss of the paper, but you gain tons of additional screen protection. When most wallet style cases are closed, the edges of your credit cards are pushed up against the screen. This is bad. This case actually provides the much needed added protection with that leather flap. The Palm is held in by a slide-rail, this allows the Palm to connect to the cradle while still in the case. It is somewhat ackward, but less ackward than taking it out of a case. And to top it off the case is a nice quality leather. If you have a m50x, get this case!
