On the go, I frequently need to print out documents, be it invoices, reciepts, e-mails, etc etc so I decided to purchase this product. Words cannot describe my feelings toward it, I use it soo much with the laptops I don't know how I lived without one before. Installation on Windows 2k, and ME was flawless, both using the Fast IrDA.

The printer is just the perfect size to slide in to my briefcase, and adds little weight. It's battery operation is really what caught my eye, it says you can print about 100 pages with a full charge, but I think its a bit less than that. However, the battery takes little time to charge.

I was not aware it would come with as much ink as it did, came with 2 color cartidges, 1 black (small), and 1 black (large), as well as two trays that they are held in. The Fast IrDA is such a fabulous thing, wireless printing all the way. I decided to purchase a USB cable, its much easier some times using the cable then the IrDA (Infared) port. The quality of the documents is fantastic, matching (and beating!) my desktop printers at home. The speed is good, considering this is a portable printer. The only real drawback is that it is a single sheet feed printer, unless you buy the paper loader, which I will surely do! This is THE BEST portable printer I've found on the market, it is well worth the money.

This is a small update, I've been using the printer for about 5 months now, and everything has gone smoothly. I purchased the auto-sheet feeder from Canon (directly, from their web site) and it performs just like a normal desktop printer would! I'm still loving it.

I needed a printer to go with my Notebook and this one filled the bill. It isn't cheap but you seem to get what you pay for. When at home, adding the Auto Sheet Feeder makes it as convenient as a stationary printer but with a smaller footprint. Highly recommend this one for the Notebook users.

IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL AND EASY TO WORK WITH. THE PRINTING IS GREAT, AND QUICK FOR A BUBBLE JET. THE COLOR IS VERY GOOD.

After having a inkjet printer for the past 5 years I decided to finally get a black ink laser after realizing I don't need color. I went with Samsung 1250 because of various write ups - it has never let me down! I have several computers networked and it works wonderfully without a hitch for all computers. True, it might be a little loud when it starts up and prints but what you gain in quality and overall computing enhancement far far outweighs the slight increase in sound. I recommend highly without reservation!

We are very happy with our purchase of this printer for our dental practice. It is performing very well, and is such a good value. The Toner SAve feature is particularly nice.

This printer is a great buy. It is very fast, efficient, crisp, and clean. The quality of the images is wonderful. One thing that Samsung fails to mention is that a cable for connecting the printer to the computer is not included, but since those don't cost that much, it isn't a huge deal. Also, Samsung is shipping out the new 1250's with the PCL 6 driver for windows xp included on a disk with the printer, as well as drivers for all the other systems on that same disk.

However, you should be forewarned that the printer includes a function that allows you to reprint the last document printer (which can be good or bad thing, depending on whether or not you want people to see the document you just printed). Also, it does not have an automatic on/off function like some other lasers do; but instead it has a switch in the back. In addition, this printer has no network capabilities, so it is great for single users but won't work if put on a network. Lastly, do not use the plug and play driver for the Samsung ML-1250 included with Windows XP, instead use the driver that is included on the disk.

Buy this printer now! I can't say enough about how incredibly good this baby performs, and for less than $100! You basically get a printer with the specifications and features of a machine that would normally run $200+. The ability of direct printing via memory cards, and print resolution that rivals most high-end printers make this a no-brainer.

My only issue is with this listing, i wish Amazon would be a bit more competitive with their price.

I have fallen in love with this printer! It is extremely easy to set up and use, and it comes with all kinds of extras. And the photo print quality is just amazing! NO MORE BUYING PRINTS!!!! It prints out all sizes. And wow is it ever quiet...I had to go look to see if it was done printing cause I couldn't tell!

This is the best printer ever!!!!! It definatly lived up to my expectations. I always used to use just a regular printer for my photos and i hated the lines that were left on the pictures from the printer. This makes the pictures sooooo clear, from only a 2.1 MP camera! The best part is it prints directly from memory cards so you don't even have to go through the computer to get the pictures. It works with Compact flash, smart media, memory stick, secure digital and mulimedia. It is also extremely easy to use! I thought the directions were very easy to understand. All in all if your thinking of buying a photo printer buy this one!

This is simply the most superb value I have yet to encounter for home laser printers! Fantastic print quality, compared to HP 2200 network model this is easily as good. Prints are fast and the printer quickly goes into and out of sleep mode to conserve power. I have it installed over a TCP/IP home network with each computer able to send print jobs directly to the printer over the wired or wireless internet. The installation was painless and the print drivers and software work flawlessly, easily allowing you to select options such as duplex printing, toner saver mode, multiple pages printed to a single page without breaking a sweat! You cannot beat this deal, ...!!!

We have owned a Brother HL-1670N double-sided network laser printer for just over a year. The quality is amazing for the price and it's double-sided!

The only trouble we've had is when we forget to use the correct tray for extremely heavy stock paper, eventually it will jam trying to roll it over for printing on the opposite side.

Overall, this printer has been one of the best office equipment investments we've made.

This printer is a great product. I bought this printer for my office and for home, and they have been running flawlessly so far. The reasons why I like this printer are:

1. Built-in duplex: Printing on both sides of a paper really reduces the amount of paper that I need to carry around. This printer (and HL-1650, I think) provides built-in dulpexing for low price.

2. Built-in ethernet port: This printer has a network card and it works as a network print server. We don't need a separate printer server that should be up and running all the time. From a laptop or a desktop machine, I can print directly to this printer.

3. Postscript emulation: I am a heavy unix user and I print postscript documents quite often. This printer supports Postscript!

4. Large paper capacity: The standard tray takes 250 pages, which is more than enough for my everyday use. If you need more capacity, you may opt to buy additional 500 optinal paper tray.

If I decided to buy a similar HP printer, I would have paid around $1100, which is way much more expensive than this one. I am exteremely happy that I decided to go with brother, although it was not a very easy decision, given the popularity of HP. Some of the minor complaints that I have about this printer are:

1. Sometimes, GIF images do not print as well as I would like to. If you mainly want to print a lot of grey scale images, this printer might not be the best choice. (I haven't tested it yet, but adding more memory may improve the image quality though.)

2. It does not come with a paper manual. Everything is on a CD-ROM and it is not complete, either. It took me a while to figure out how to print a postscript document from a Linux machine.

I've come back time and again to Amazon.com for this toner cartridge. Their price has been the lowest I could find anywhere time after time. You can feel confident if you purchase it here, you're getting very close to the rock-bottom price.

No problems with these, and great price at amazon.

The cartridge is easy to install and lasts a long time... haven't had it botch any print run in two years of operation, in fact, the brother printer that uses it, just hummmms along tackling any job my small business needs... a winner! and the price at amazon is a winner, too.

This comes highly recommended. However, print your most important pictures at the beginning of the cartridge, because as it runs down, the picture quality decreases.

Pictures turn out very well so long as your camera is set on a high resolution.

I struggled to make a final decision on a printer for my home office and finally decided on the Epson 980N. I couldn't be happier.
Since I have set up a networked environment at home, I really wanted a printer that had decent networking abilities. I soon discovered that I was pretty limited in terms of cost and color capabilities if I was intent on getting a printer with an Ethernet card. The Epson 980N satisfied all my requirements and has performed very, very well during the past seven months with lots of use - and I mean LOTS of use. I have printed everything from quick black-and-white text drafts to picture-perfect color 8x10s. My only complaint is that the original Epson consumables are quite expensive, and the two times that I have tried off-brand ink cartridges I have been deeply disapointed with the quality.
If you want a great network-capable inkjet printer that produces incredible photo-quality output as well as incredibly fast draft output, then the 980N is a solid choice. And, by the way, I primarily use Macintosh computers with this printer, but have easily printed from my Windows laptop as well as from OS 9 and OS X systems.

I have an Apple G4 running OS9 and a 700 Mhz Dell PC running Win98 networked using a 10/100 hub, using PC MacLan software. The Epson installation disk configured the Apple effortlessly. However, the PC was a little more challenging. The software drivers from Epson didn't install correctly, and I had to configure the driver using PC MacLan's printer server. As a result, Epson's printer maintenance utilities only work with the Mac, and not with the PC. Appletalk may not be compatible? Sent an e-mail to Epson about it, and they responded within 72 hours. The printer works wonderfully, and is incredibly quick. Color printouts come out beautifully, although I had to clean the heads and realign them using the maintenance software that came with the printer after about 300 pages of print outs. Printing addresses on envelopes using Microsoft Word XP was a little tricky. Size 10 letters only print out when you feed them upright. Feeding sideways doesn't work. After about 1000 pages into using the printer, ink's still about 75% full. Of all my previous printers - HP Officejet, Brother HL-660 Laser Jet...this is the best performing printer I've had to date, although it sounds loud and clunky at times. Not sure about ink cartridge prices. Haven't had to change them yet. ...

It took me a while to find the printer I was looking for, but this printer made it all worthwhile. I use it on my network extensively and it works with all my OS's flawlessly (Win98, WinNT4, Win2000 Pro, Win2000 Server), which is the reason I chose Epson over HP. The only cons to this printer are that it is a little noisy and the color cartridge gets clogged every once in a while...although the software helped me diagnose and fix the clogging problem with little effort. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this printer and would definitely choose it again if given the opportunity.

Great for final reports and presentations. Best uncoated inkjet printer paper I've found where you desire to keep the tactile feel of "normal" paper. I've tried most kinds, including 100% cotton, presentation papers, and other brands of inkjet papers ranging from Kodak to Georgia-Pacific to Weyerhauser. Printouts appear sharp and colour images fairly good, though it's obvious that coated stock makes for brighter colours in pictures. Black text appears almost the same on this paper as it does on the HP coated paper, so use this one and save money (and you can print on both sides).

Because this is uncoated paper, it doesn't have that chalky fingernail-on-chalkboard feeling that the coated papers have. This is an important point when you have to give presentations where people will handle the papers. It has a thick luxiourious feel for 24# stock and doesn't suffer print-through.

Upon testing with some generic ink refills, this paper holds up well to some of the thinner generic inks that might bleed through on other papers. The older HP paper stock was 96 bright, then HP improved it to 106 brightness and the most current incarnation of this paper is at 108+ brightness.

I use this paper for making out newsletters for family. It works quite well, there's no smearing, no bleeding and it's BRIGHT! Good job HP!!

I have had a Canon S630 for over a year now, and I love it. After having problems with Epson and HP printers, I tried the Canon and was astonished with the print quality. The only down side is I got my S630 before they came out with the larger format version, which I would have wanted. Certainly not Canon's fault there. I have printed 8x10s from a 2 megapixel Olympus digital camera, and was pleased with how close it came to 35mm for the price. Since 35mm has considerably more resolution than 2 megapixels, obviously there is a clear difference. However, this printer did a fine job of substituting for the One Hour Photo average picture taking level, and has saved me a ton of money.

I also do not recommend generic or refill inks for printers, as I had an HP printer ruined by them. I prefer the separate tanks for each color as well, for the simple fact that they don't make you waste ink. I have gotten over 40 8x10s out of one set of ink tanks, but it varies widely with color saturation and picture content, so I don't think it is possible to give any accurate figures for usage. Another plus for Canon is that the print head is not a part of the ink cartridge, so you don't have to pay to replace that every time you replace ink tanks, unlike some other brands of printers. While there may be some value to that kind of system, Canon's system is less expensive to the user.

The ink doesn't seem to dry out very fast with long periods of inactivity, although it is better for the printer to use it regularly. I also like the fact that the low ink warnings give enough time so that one can plan one's usage carefully to maximize what you have left and not run out of a color in the middle of a critical print.

I have been using Canon inks and printers for years and awhile back, I decided to try out some of those generic ink tanks and ink kits (you know, the ones with the syringes?). Both ruined my printer, after awhile. They seem to work initially, but you can tell the colors are off. Sure, the generic inks are so much cheaper, but the costs of getting a new printer are going to make up for those few $ you saved on ink. Trust me on this one, buy Canon OEM cartridges!

I HAD MY PRINTER FOR A YEAR AND IT IS THE BEST .I WOULD NEVER TRY TO USE ANY OTHER PRODUCT OTHER THEN ESPONS INK CARTRIDGES BECAUSE I BEEN TOLD THAT OTHER REPLACEMENTS HAVE DAMAGED THE PRINTERS.

Epson inks have been really good for me ever since I bought my first Epson printer 4 years ago. I have never had a cartridge go out on me. The ink quality is comparable to those from HP if not better. I would recommend that you stick with Epson ink and not use the other ink. The quality and ease of use is just not there. Overall a great product.

Epson has given my family one of the best printers we have ever had. The ink is perfect and lasts a long time!
