why is there free shipping on color ink cartridges and none on black?

Don't Settle for Imitations!
I've had Canon printers using this cartridge for more than a year and won't settle for any of those knock-offs. Yeah, they're often much cheaper, but this is one area where you get what you pay for. Brand X fades and does not perform as well in the inkjet system. This has been confirmed in independent lab tests in a leading PC magazine. I have had to install and remove countless cartridges and NEVER spilled a drop. The pop-in, pop-out design couldn't be easier.

Good Quality Ink for an Inkjet Printer
The BCI-3eBk is good quality black ink for an inkjet printer. I have used this ink for a couple of years now and don't recall it smudging on the pages I print. The price on this product (compared to HP products) is fair, but I am able to print a 100 to 200 pages before running out of ink. Of course, you will get more pages out of this cartridge if you print more color graphics than text.

It's good for home use but Not 5 * good
I have owned a p8 for 6 months and put 3000 + pages monthly through it. If all you ever do is print single sided then this is a bargain for a printer. Try printing on paper that has already been through the printer and it noticably smudges the paper when doing this.It also misfed constantly. ( due to the curl caused by printer) This occured using many kinds of paper.

Supplies are a little on the expensive side, a drum and toner costing over the the price of the whole unit. Driver setup was quick with no major problems, good instructions( from previous experience good tech support )

Again this is non typical use, I was given the printer to try and would not argue that it would admirably be able to handle a life of homework and home finance for 2 years without hassle.

Compact & Perfect
This is my 2nd Xerox P8. I wore out the plastic gears after 3 yrs of use on the 1st. Paper exits up or down as you wish. Rarely jams (unlike another reviewers experience) and even takes pages already printed and with adhesive notes attached (although that's really not recommended). The print is great. If you don't mind having smeared ink all over, you can get an Ink-Jet model for the same money, but this little laser is great - no smears. I got my second one on-line, used but never used! Works just as good as the 1st one.... For a tight budget and a small desktop, this P8 can't be beat.

THIS IS A GREAT PRINTER!!!
I got mine used, 3 years ago, without benefit of knowing how many "miles" it had on it. I downloaded the drivers (less than 1mb- not 20 or 30mb, like some) and they loaded up without a hitch in Win98SE. It has never jammed, despite using various paper weights and qualities, and prints a page in about 6 seconds, with superior clarity. I've used it with 4 or 5 different PC's.

When it ran low on toner, about 6 months ago, I was happy to find out that the cartridge was very easily refillable - it already has a plug you just pop out, to add the toner. I got the toner from TonerRefillKits.com for 30 bucks, with excellent instructions, and good for 2 refills. Refilling it restored the print quality to "just like new".

This was my first laser printer, and after using several brands and models of inkjets, all of which invariably had problems with cartridges drying out or leaking, I'm happy to say that the P8 has never failed to print perfectly, either during continuous use, or after sitting idle for several months.

Right now I'm considering getting another one for my second PC, as I'm VERY unhappy with the brand new Lexmark Z23 hooked up to it. I'll NEVER buy another Lexmark product.
You simply can't go wrong with the Xerox DocuPrint P8!!

An ingenious device...
I have found this disc title printer to be quite useful. As long as you buy blank CD/DVD's that have little preprinted writing on the front, you will have absolutely no problem printing quality, professional-looking labels on your discs. I rarely use the PC interface with the printer, instead opting to use the built-in screen for formatting my discs. Regardless, I have had no problems with this unit, and have found it to be very useful.

Good Printer. Highly Recommended
The printer does what it is designed to do - Print text and simple graphic labels on 2 rectangular areas (top and bottom) of a CD or DVD.

The print quality is good provided that you use the right kind of CD/DVD. As most of the reviewers have pointed out, you must use media with smooth shiny areas for the label. The CD does not have to be totally blank. It just needs to have enough smooth surface for your label to print on it. Disk with matted surface is not going to work. I use the SONY CD-R and the TDK DVD+R with good results. Both of them have manufacture's logo on the surface but they also have plenty of smooth blank areas for top and bottom labels.

The easiest way to explore the printer's features is to use the Disc Printer software (download the latest version from Casio's website). One of the things that the software allows you to do is to import a Windows Media Playlist (.asx) file. Once the file is imported, the software can automatically creates labels for all the song titles in your playlist. I have tried that feature and it works great.

Very Pleased, This Product Works Great!
This product works great! I read some of the negative statements and was a little reluctant to purchase it...but when I came across it at BJ's for $89 (after rebate) I figured I'd give it a try. Some of the negatives I've read was that you could only print on top and bottom of the cd or dvd...NOT TRUE!! Use your heads people. If you wish to print on the left or right middle of the cd (eg: a compact disc logo) simply import the graphic you want to use...rotate it so that after it prints the logo will be upright when the disc is turned to the left or right....then simply print on the top and bottom of the disc keeping the logo to the left or right depending on which side you want it. It's very easy to do. The templates and print options included in the software gives you almost unlimited options...you just need to use your head. After searching the net i was able to find cartriges in bundles of ten for $58. (5.80 a cartridge) @20 CDs per cartridge the cost is a mere 29 cents per cd or dvd. Not bad considering the professional results. You can also mix colors (not on the same line) if you're patient enough to print one line, change cartridge, then print another line. The unit needs a fairly smooth surface for best results...and quite frankly..the bare silver cd's look the best, even though it print on Memorex DVDs that are not completly smooth and have the memorex logo on them. Don't condem a product because you fail to follow directions. The Casio CW-75 does what it advertises and does it well...if you shop around it's cost effective..and if you have some patience and foresight you can get this to print almost any label you want on any part of the disc. Great Job Casio.

IT'S OK
IT'S GOOD AND ALSO IT GIVES GREAT PICTURE BUT THE THINGS IS THE RIBBON THOSE NOT PRINT 60 PICTURE ONLY 30 PIC NOT MORE

Extended Usage
Most users lamented the fact that the ribbon only lasted long enough for 30 prints. I experimented by rewinding the ribbon and got reasonable prints. Worth a try.

Olympus 330
This dye sublimation printer gives beautiful prints that give you all the sharpness and resolution that is as good or better than a film camera. I have only used it in printing the memory card with the printer (not hooked up to the computer). The one bothersome thing I have noticed is that it only gives 30 prints per ribbon not 60.

Disappointed!
Ink level monitor is a joke, when it was still printing great, it show ink out (which is not true) and stop printing.

Head cleaning always clean both black and color, bad idea, it could end up use up half of the ink without having both heads in clean condition the same time.

With 2 of the above, I am staying away from Epson forever.

Great Product for the Price
I bought this printer at a great price of $30 and have gotten my moneys worth. It prints scanned pictures with great depth and clarity. It is fast! A plus. The only bad is, expensive cartridges. I pay more per cartidge than for the price of the printer itself.

Great Printer... Great Price
After getting my new Graphite iMac I realized that it would be cheaper to buy a printer, than the software necessary to network with the ones already present on my home Windows network. Since I don't print that often I figured that I would just get a cheap Mac-compatible USB printer. Boy, was I surprised to discover just how great the quality of this printer can be. Print a picture or a publication on the photo quality inkjet paper that comes included and you will be amazed by the results. Better than magazine print and almost rivaling photographs. The speed is fairly impressive too even when printing at higher resolutions. I have heard that the longevity of this printer is not the greatest, so if you print occasionally, but want high quality prints when you do, then, for the money, this printer is definitely a great buy.

Beautiful
Had it for a year. Perfect and problem free, and it's on almost all the time. Rock solid, sharp, even color. Flawless.

Sony GDM-F500
Re two of the above comments, the OSD shows the current refresh rate when you press "menu." And any yellowish areas ("stains") in the corners can be fixed by tweaking the LANDING controls.

The Greatest
This monitor has one the best CRT monitor award in more than one magazine. is grille pitch is yet to be challenged and it has good refresh rates at high resolutions. one problem is that there are 2 wavy lines that go down the screen but only some people notice them and most people just ignore them. I recommend that you at least try this out if you are going for a high end CRT.

Beware
I purchased the Canon BJC-50 in August of 1998. It has take at least three hours to three days of effort to get it to work for each time that I have occasionally used it. I have used it mainly for color printing, and also for scanning with the optional scanning cartridge. It is particularly troublesome when switching from scan to print functions. It is quite noisy. I can not depend on it to function when I need it. It usually works eventually, but only after many trial and error attempts. Email technical support usually does not provide a quick solution. There have been no quick solutions. There have only been time consuming, painstaking encounters with this machine.

Canon BJC-50
Excellent printer...everything that I thought it would be . Works wells all the time. Works wells with Windows XP and downloaded driver from Canon site.

Infrared works well with Windows ME
Even though it said that the infrared wireless printing only works with Windows 95, I found that it worked just as well with Windows ME installed in my laptop.

Two great benefits of the BJ-50: 1. Infrared wireless printing (if your laptop supports it) 2. There is battery in the printer, so you don't have to connect it to an electrical outlet to print! Both features are VERY convenient.

Print quality is decent, but I can't comment on ink life since I have just begun to use the printer.

Scanner Compaq A3000 all in one
I bought this Compaq A3000 at a local store and ever since I got it the printer and copier work fine but the scanner does not work and hasn't work since I got it. I think they gave me the wrong disk for it. I have a new Compaq Presario 6000 Windows XP. Could please advise me what to do to get this to work. I have emailed and called the Compaq Service and still do not get it to work.

COMPATIBLE not only XP ,but with 2003 server!
This machine compatible not only with XP,but with the latest one( 2003 server),if you get problem with it,just make sure slowly follow the instruction of the cd driver, then you will get them all.

Excellent Scaner/Printer/Copier
My Family enjoys the speed and versatility of the A3000. I see other customers have complained about the scanner, but I has been a life saver for us. It can scan textbook pages as images or into Character recognition software for easy implementation into Word processors. Scanned images are saved to a folder you specify as jpeg format images. (You do have to run the A3000 utlity or ABBY when scanning - others may not have known this).
It prints faster and quieter than our HP890 inkjet. It takes Lexmark ink cartridges, which are widely available. The A3000 footprint is small and fits on a roller shelf under my desk. HP does have a download site for the driver, but has limited support since they bought Compaq and the printer doesnt use HP cartridges. But this was a well designed product and after nearly 2 years of service we use it almost daily and it still works and acts like new.

NEC Abandoned Current Owners of the NEC 870
The NEC Superscript 870 is a great printer. I've used it now for three years and it's a workhorse that never jams and continues to spew out fantastic looking text, graphics, etc. I love this printer!

However, I HATE NEC! NEC refuses to issue an updated driver for this printer so that it can be used with the Windows XP operating system. If you have XP or want to upgrade to XP (like I want to) this printer will suddenly become a large paper weight! This means that I spent $400 three years ago for a terrific printer that still works like a charm and shows no signs of ever stopping BUT when I upgrade to Windows XP I have to buy another printer.

Simply do a search on the net for "NEC Superscript 870 XP Driver" for evidence of widespread frustration regarding this printer and the terrible way NEC has handled this problem.

I will never again buy ANY product from NEC.

There's a reason this printer has been discontinued!
I have had trouble getting anything to consistently print out straight on the page, even if hand fed. And now it grabbing 2 or 3 sheets at a time, as well. Ever try to find a maintenance repair kit for this printer? Don't bother - there isn't one available according to NEC. So, in order to replace the wheels that grip the paper, I have to buy a paper pic unit for $75.00, which NEC doesn't even carry! So far I've spent a good 12 hours on the internet trying to find one.

A great SOHO printer
I bought the 870 over about a year and a half ago, and it came with a 6,000 page toner cartridge. After printing 7,272 pages, I finally need to get a new cartridge.

The printer has been great - cheap, reliable, and good quality output. I couldn't ask for a better laser printer for my home office.
