A waste of money
I bought this printer because I travel a lot. The first time I used it, it printed only half a page. After repeated requests for help, I got it to print --- quit working almost exactly to the date that the warranty ran out. Canon not helpful at all. I am looking for another portable printer but it will not be a Canon.

five star
I am in search of a handy printer which has a print quality and speed like laserjet printer to print only four lines on a bankers cheque.I found this product while browsing but do not know about it.Does this is worth for printing cheques ?

Great little printer
This is a great little printer. It is a little slow but its quality is great. It is quite small and compact, perfect for a traveling business man. All in all this is a great printer.

Copier
I bought this copier several years ago and it has work well for me. I like that it can also do legal size paper. It does take up alot of desk space due to the two paper trays. I think that there are better choices now. This copier doesn't have an internal paper tray, doc. feeder, or enlargement of image.

good buy
After fighting for several years with all in one printer/fax/copier machines, I decided to buy seperate components to do these specific jobs. The Canon PC430 was my choice as a copier and I amd very pleased with it. I does it's job very well for small business use with small to moderate copy jobs. It's a simple machine and compact enough to fit on the desktop. The set up is easy. The copies are perfect reproductions of the originals. No frills just does the job it's designed to do.

The Best! No scanner even comes close!
If your looking for a copy machine, and have been settling for a scanner instead then sell your scanner and pick up a Cannon PC420 or PC430 copier. (I bought the 430 but tested the 420.)

The copies are nice and crisp. With text it will even do perfect copies of text in 8-point font. For pictures it will copy fine. Not perfect, some edges will appear pixilated, good enough for a teacher to make copies from a book for students to do. Yet not good enough for a critical sales or marketing presentation. If you copy from workbooks or textbooks the PC430 will pay for itself in just a few months. No more hassles of waiting or paying on a per copy basis.

The PC430 can have some trouble when you have many gray or offgray boxes that are small. It will smudge the edges but not considerably. For the price though it is perfect, you would have to pay 10x as much for a copier that doesn't do this.

Being able to hit the Power button and begin to copy is unbelivable. No warm up! If you are used to using $10,000 copiers that take minutes to warm up when you only need one or two copies this is a godsend.

All in all this is one of the best home or homeoffice products you can buy. It works as advertised and is simple to operate. In today's world of gizmos and gadgets that is saying alot.

Always works the way I want it to.
Has some down sides, however compared to the majority of the other computers in the same cost range and ability, it is definatly a five.

Epson has a winner!
I have to say this is one heck of a good printer. I had worked a lot with Lexmark/Compaq printers (in my job) but this one really impresses me. The price, technology, quality and cost of ownership is a FAR better value than I have previously enjoyed. Footprint is larger than some (probably because the power supply is internal, NO POWER ADAPTER? YIPPEEEEE!!!) but it does a great job feeding paper and keeping the noise at a minimum. The resolution 2880 x 720 dpi is excellent and the print options are of buisness capability (double sided, page sharing, brochure, photo options, color correction, etc.). My advice: Get it and go! ;^)

Great pinter at a great low price.
This is good purchase. I am very pleased with this printer.

Ideal home/small office printer
My IT people bought me the HP 2100 for use as a personal printer in my university office. I liked it so much that I bought one for my home office to replace an old HP 4L. It has been an excellent purchase and I highly recommend this printer. When working at home, I now have the print speed to download and print out legal decisions from the web or Lexis, which was too painful to contemplate with the slow speeds of the HP 4L. I get 8-10 pages per minute regardless of whether the printer is set for draft or top quality modes. So only the longest legal decisions take more than a couple of minutes. Of course, as a law professor, I'm not often printing out graphics intensive files. Charts and figures do slow down the print speed some, so a more graphics intensive user might want to look at alternatives. I'm also not using it in a network environment at home and, at work, I don't share it with other users. So, again, your mileage may vary.

Both of my HP 2100 have been extremely reliable. They are quiet, the paper never jams, they have a reasonably large main paper tray, handle single sheet feeds fine. I've generated several camera ready texts on my HP 2100 using the top quality print settings and had no complaints from readers or publishers, So for a low-volume, mostly text setting, this seems like an ideal printer.

Easy to set up and prints great!
This was our first laser printer for our home office. We opted to get the non networked version and add the faster tbase100 network card which we found online for 1/4 of HP's price. Amazone had lowest price on this printer and free shipping to boot (I see price has gone up a little since we bought it) Contrary to some of the rewiews here fan only runs when it is printing so it is not a distraction. Warmup time is not too bad about 15 sec. It really shines on large printing jobs pumping them out very fast. I really like the 4 pages per sheet mode for printing archives althought this slows it way down, we are adding memory...to overcome this. B&W pictures are very clean. Overall we are very satisfied with this printer. Only improvement would be to include a fast network card instead of the T10 card that comes in the 2100TN (No card comes in this reviewed model) Well done HP!

Absolutely nothing to complain about...
I too wonder about the first reviewer's problems with this printer. It was simple to set up, the software installed well on several different computers and connections via both the local port and over our network were made without problems.

Our company uses many programs (wordprocessing, database management, three different GIS) on a daily basis and we haven't had a problem printing from any of them. Since we've received shipment we've printed graphics from scanned photographs to digitally created images in several formats. It's also doing a beautiful job with very detailed tables, maps and charts.

I'd definitely recommend this printer.

it works better on my SMC now
I use it on the linky bridge
the signal strength and link quality are increased by 8-10 percent point
then I found this antenna works better on single antenna device, on 2 antennae device, it may have problem

update: this antenna works very well with SMC wireless router (used as ap) now, the result is good enough to get a stable connection with MS MN-710
however, for further upgrade, I put an order to get 15dbi directional, in order to connect the forth-coming dell axim x30, since the kitchen is blind point, and the router is located at the edge of the house, a directional antenna can "fire" the signal throughout the house
for SMC 2804 users: connect the antenna at the connector near LAN jack (which is the REAL antenna jack), this helps

Worked For Me
I bought this antenna to add to a Linksys 802.11B router that has an extremely limited range in my house. I like to sit with my laptop in the living room about 30 feet away (3 walls between router and computer) and the signal is so low that the connection keeps getting broken and data transfer is slow when the connection is able to keep active. This antenna increased my signal strength from approximately 0-10 percent to about a 30-40 percent level. This is strong enough to never drop the connection and to maintain the full 11 Mbps data transfer rate. Oh yeah, as another reviewer already stated, the picture is wrong. This is an antenna, not a bundle of cable.

It works
First of all Amazon's picture is wrong. This is an antenna and not a bundle of coax.

Before I got this antenna I would lose the signal every 5 minutes in the basement. Now I never lose the signal in the basement. I bought it so that I'd have a reliable connection in the basement. So I'm quite happy.

Great printer for the Price
I've owned this printer for a week and am very pleased. It's a great Printer for the price. It's well constructed, fast and simple to use.

I share it on a home network with PCs running Win95, Win98 and WinXP. No problems printing. The driver provides access to all the printer's features on these platforms and is very straight forward.

I considered the HP 1200 and Brother 1450. I normally purchase HP printers but was disappointed in how flimsy the HP appeared. While I wouldn't mind Postscript which comes with the HP, it isn't essential and not worth the additional $$. The Brother was probably my second choice, but the Samsung had better specs and was less expensive.

The Samsung WEB site could be improved, but I was able to eventualy validate that the drivers that came with the printer were up to date. They also have limited service coverage.

Great small office printer
We use it in our office... very quick and solid printing capability. The only drawback is that it seems to go through printer cartridges fairly quickly, but then again, we do print a lot of stuff. Overall, we're very satisfied with it!

Why need postscript?
I've had for 2 weeks...do not have postscript card. Have not yet come across a PDF file that wouldn't print. Not sure what others are trying to print.
Also, I've had no problem with manual duplexing. Have not tried 1200 dpi yet.

got the shakes
My Sony 520's have the shakes too. I've had four of them in my lab and they're terrible. Text and vertical lines appear to squirm, it is extremely unpleasant. I tried everything to cure the problem, I made sure there were no other electronics near the monitors, downloaded the latest drivers, ran on UPS, moved to another building, nothing worked.

I managed to return two of them before and Sony is working on a pro-rated buyback for me, so that's good. I don't understand how these monitors can have this problem!!! They're all used on brand new computers with four different video cards (the better the card, the worse the problem!). Including GeForce4Ti4600, GeForce4Ti4200 and Radeon9500pro.

I'm going to go to LCD's from now on, or another brand if I want the big screen for much lower price (20" LCD's are still cost prohibative).

SONY CPD G520 image stability and service commitment lacking
After 3 different units, I have not been able to get one that doesn't have a slight shake. For three months I've sent units back to Sony 4 times, with no satisfaction.

I have three other monitors in the same room, a samsung, a princeton, and a smaller sony, and they are all rock-solid. What does it say about the quality of this...unit if it shakes, sometimes a lot, when these $[money] models from other manufacturers function perfectly.

Sony has told me they are "finished" with me, as it must be my problem, not their equipment. I feel that they should stand behind their stuff, as it didn't work correctly ou of the box. Some were worse than others, and the last one only shakes a little, but still, it's a $[money] piece of equipment!!!

I returned the first unit, one day after I got it, to their local [Boston] repair site, and got back a REFURBISHED unit, which was not only against their own stated policy, but illegal in Massachusetts, and probably other states.

After talking to innumerable people, Scott Lake, the supervisor, decided that Sony was not going to really stand behind their product, and informed me that they would not attempt to find the problem, replace the unit again, or refund my money, as I believe the law in Mass says they have to. I informed him that I was a totally disabled veteran, and this would be a terrible hardship for me, but I was told, basically, to buzz off.

I'm sure that many people are very satisified with SONY stuff, as I was with my GDM 2038...but when you are the unlucky one, you could end up with an eye-bender like this one, and an eye-opening service experience like this one too... almost 3 months of waiting, moving, repacking and reshipping... trying hard to solve the problem, and to be treated like this yeech.... SONY should be ashamed...

When I try to sell it, I'll take a $[money] hit off the top because it is "refurbished" rather than a new replacement.

This is just a word to the wise. The shine is off the SONY star for me.

I think that Small Claims Court is my next stop.

Sweet Monitor
Great Monitor, crystal clear, for drafting / gaming / multi-tasking its a must. Dual input is usefull if you are running two machines, such as a desktop and a server, you can switch back and forth by a simple switch, on the front of the monitor, unlike some other brands.

the performance is good unless you want a laser one
this product is great to go with its BJC-250 printer, i've using my printer for almost 4 years. Most of the time to print homework, it perform quite well. I think it's really good if not compare with a laser printer, since all your words on your documents will become totally "dark" if it gets wet!

Good value for a reliable product
This is probably my 8th cartridge, & I like the quality of its printouts. The ink is very dark & prints well on plain white paper or textured resume stock. I've paid anything from $22 to $28 for this product at regular bookstores, so this is a good price.

Best There Is!
I tried a generic brand for my BJC1000 and had a very bad experience all because I was trying to $Save--but guess what as the old saying goes "you get just what you pay for". I will stick with Canon and be assured of the quality.

Makes sense
I used this product for the first time and found fairly good results, the black color is a bit off .more like a very dark blue but then it's not for reports or anything like that so I appreciate saving half the price of a completely new cartridge, makes a lot of sense. I would recomend this product , Also instructions and procedure for the refil are easy to follow.it was a clean job no mess. Hope that further jobs give the same results.

additional uses
in your list of printers where this product can be used, you forgot the HP 722C Deskjet

Saved me money with no loss in ink quality
I bought this product based on the first user recommendation. I have had no problem with this ink and I don't see any difference in quality whatsoever. I guess it depends on your type of printer and I have a HP 692c. I totally recommend this product if you own a HP printer and want to save money.
