Vibrant Color for Your Brother MFC Unit
The "Brother LC02M Ink Jet Cartridge (Magenta)" is one of the necessary accessories you'll need if you purchased one of Brother's 7100 series MFC's. Rich in color, the ink cartridge gives you a good buy for your money. If you a person who doesn't use your MFC on a daily basis, then the cartridge will last you for a long time. However, if you're a person who constantly uses, then the cartridge;s supply won't last too long. That is the only negative thing about this product.

Besides one minor fault, Brother's MFC/Fax accessories are one of the market's best buys in quality and performance. I recommend purchasing a few of these cartridges whenever your purchase them online so that you can have some on reserve just in case your cartridge runs out of ink.

Magenta cartridge for Brother printer
The separate cartridges in these printers are a great idea. I used to hate throwing out the whole color cartridge in the other printer I had.

However, since each of these cartridges run out all at different times, if you use this printer a lot the warning light that a cartridge is almost running out of ink seems to be on continuously, as each time it is a different one.

Yellow ink cartridge for Brother MFC
The Brother ink cartridges are true to color and look great printed. My only dissapointment is that the colors don't last very long compared to other home printers I've used in the past. If you buy the MFC printer, go ahead and buy at least 2 cartridges of each color.

Ok, but not great.
I can't complain about the ink itself, it is typical Canon quality. My main problem is that the tank is so small. It does not last all that long. The cradle is quite large, but the tank only takes up about a 1/3 of it. It would be nice to have a bigger tank like the BC-20 in my old BJC-4200.

Good and cheap ink
I don't think this ink is really too bad. It seems to last just as long as a black $20 cartridge that I used with my BJC-250/210/BJ-100. The price is right too - about half of the BC-02 ink price.

No OS X software
We currently have three Dymo Turbo 330 labelers running in our all Mac OS X office. Can't believe Dymo is dragging its feet on releasing an OS X version of their labeling software. Having to run in Classic mode is not my idea of current technology. Other than this one point, a quality product that serves us well.

Great Label Printer
I recently purchased the Dymo Label 300 printer to work with my new WinXP Home Edition computer. I had to wait till new drivers were released on Dymo's website to get the printer to work. The associated software is excellent giving me great functionality.

The associated software that attaches to both Word 2002 and Outlook 2002 did not work as advertised. Contact with tech support led me in the right direction and with some down home tweaking I did finally get it to work as advertised.

The labels for this printer are readily available at nationwide stores or from Amazon (...)

Need a great label printer...you can stop your search.

Great print quality... lousy Mac drivers
The EPL 5700i has very nice print quality, but Epson's Mac support is not wonderful. The print dialogs are unnecessarily busy and confusing. And no Mac OS X driver yet (two years after the release of Mac OS X).

Great small laser printer from Epson
The printer fits perfectly in my small work space and is very quiet, quick, and trouble free. My initial set back has been cleared up now that there is a native driver for OS X. The print quality is very good and it prints quicker than many "faster" laser printers (ppm doesn't mean a thing IMHO).

Nifty little printer
...

After a thorough search and reviews, it came down to Epson.
The ink supplier's cost for Epson cartridges was very reasonable and based on that and Epson's reputation, I went with the Epson C44UX.

It's a slim, space saving printer. Measures about 17" which fit on my shelf very nicely. It's lightweight, but most printers today are lightweight. I was very concerned about the ink cartridges and was pleased that it took two ink cartridges. ...

This Epson has an ink status screen. When it prints the status box pops up and you see how much ink is available.

This printer is noisy, as are all inkjet printers. It's a poor paper grabber. Better to put 10 sheets in the feeder tray vs. a lot. ....

The printing speed is average, about 6 ppm. The color is brilliant.

The USB cable connection accommodates the newer computers. The USB cable is not included with the printer, which will require an additional $10 cost

Installing the CD software drivers was a snap. Just put the CD in the tray and it instantly started up.

Overall, This printer will be used for short-term until I can afford to get a better printer.

Slow but accurate
I originally purchased this printer to do crude color labels. When I tried using it for photo output, it turned out to be quite good. It takes a long time to produce a 7.5 x 5 print on heavy 8.5 x 11 matte photo paper, like, about 12 to 15 minutes, but the results are excellent. One set of cartridges will print out about 75 large size photo prints. The accuracy is excellent and the resolution is excellent also. I've used older HP color printers and there were always problems with banding or ink wash out, or something or other, but this little printer has produced very consistent, good quality prints. I have gotten the best photo enlarging results using Epson Premium Lustre Photo Paper. I'm not sure how fast the more expensive printers are, but if time is no object, this printer is a good choice.

Easy and Fun
I went with this product because of HP's reliability. So far, this product has been great. Easily receives faxes; quickly copies anything; scans everything - even photos and ID cards; prints perfectly each time. It has an easy set-up, clear directions, and it's fun to play around with. This was one of the best deals I've ever found. I would recommend this product to nearly everyone - undergrad and grad students, especially. Even though HP sorta gears this towards professionals, it adapts to nearly any need.

Very Pleased
I was quite surprised to find that this is basically a brand new fax printer with just some minor scratchs on it (no big deal). This works great. Easy to hook up. Quality is as good as any ink jet printer. You can't beat the price either as I have checked around quite a bit.

Well worth the money.

Almost perfect
This little printer is perfect for trips. It is compact and light. It has a very good resolutions in b&w and in color too. It has two disadvantages, the first one is you can't use any kind of paper (look technical information) and the second is you have to change ink cartdriges for print in color and b&w. But it has a very good characteristic against other portable printers, it can support both 110 or 220 volts, without buying any additional product. As I said, it is perfect for trips, domestic and international.

Good little printer
I have the standard DeskJet 340, w/o the infrared adapter. While not very speedy, the printer produces really excellent printed pages. It's kind of a hassle to have to change ink cartridges to print in color vs. b/w, but I guess that's what you get in a printer this small. If you just use the printer w/o the sheet feeder, this thing in pretty darn portable. I wish I had the I/R option - carrying a 3ft printer cable in my laptop bag is not too cool. Over all, a good, reliable printer in a very portable package.

Good Printer, driver installation could improve
This printer is fast and has good output. I received this printer several days ago, and I ran into problems installing the software. If you avoid these things, you'll have a lot better installation experience!

I couldn't get it to install using the parallel interface, but I realized that my parallel port is set up as an ECP port, not a regular parallel port. The installer just hung saying it was doing post-install cleanup or similar. Luckily, the cancel button cleaned up the install without problems. The ECP wouln't work with my old LaserJet 3p, either if I recall correctly. I switched to USB, and installation went great.

Next problem, the HP laserjet toolkit (which you need to use because there's no LCD display or menu) uses a web interface, and the manual (on CD or through the internet) says it will install Java 1.3.1 if you don't have a newer version installed. Well, I already had Java 1.4.x SDK, so it didn't install v1.3.1. However, the toolkit software wouldn't work with 1.4.x (the Tomcat (server?) said it didn't recognize version 48. I finally gave up and uninstalled my existing java and the HP printer software, and reinstalled the HP printer driver. Success!

By the way, if you have to reinstall the software, make sure and turn the printer off first, or the computer won't be able to detect your new printer at the right time (and you'll have to start over again).

Hardware 4 stars, driver installation 2 stars. I chose this printer over the Brother because there were reports of poor printing quality for some people.

A Great Home and Small Business Product
This is obviously an update of the 1200 laserjet printer. 8 megs of memory and upto 15 ppm. The print quality is good. The printer is noisy, which is the greatest drawback, especially if it sits next to you on the desk.
Either HP forgot to enclose a manual or it does not exist. This would create difficulty for one who had never put together a printer before. It's a snap for others.
Good product.

Fast Printer
We have had a 4200 since September 2003 when it was purchased to print daily business reports and monthly billing statements. We have been pleased with its speedy printing and with its excellent print quality.

On the down side, we have a LOT of trouble with paper jams. Seems like every day or so we have to open it up and pull out a sheet of crumpled paper. And it is pretty bad about feeding more than one sheet at a time. I wouldn't swear that a more expensive paper would not solve the problem but we use so much paper we have been buying the least expensive, store branded variety.

One further observation; the construction quality just seems a little cheesy, not like our old HP LaserJet 4, which has printed about a zillion copies and just keeps plugging along, never jams and never feeds multiple sheets. (All the criticisms mentioned also apply to an HP OfficeJet 7130 all-in-one we purchased for another office)

Holds True to Excellent Results!
This is the printer I use at my office, and have never once been disapointed with the results; crystal clear printing at a very high speed. Easy to use and even easier to troubleshoot with the screen feature serving as your "help" manual.

We've had this printer for a little under a year and had to change the toner once (with three people printing at least 75-100 pages/day).

I definitely recommend this for any small business/office setting and I'm actually considering one for my home!!
