Not bad, but be careful...
The final product is great -- sharp colors, very little bleeding, no peeling. Much better than I would have expected from a do-it-yourself kit. I printed these on a couple different printers, and even the ones done on my cheap little $50 printer ended up looking as good as the ones you get from the copy stores or mall kiosks, plus you get the satisfaction of saying you made it yourself.

Getting to the finished mousepad takes a bit a patience though, as the one problem with this product is the packaging. There's no cardboard reinforcement to keep the sheets flat inside the box, and they get a bit wrinkled and bent up somewhere between the factory and you (it's not Amazon's fault, you get the same results if you buy them in the store). I had several get jammed up in the printer because they kept curling up (at 4 bucks a sheet, it's frustrating). Oh yeah, and make sure you're not going to run out of ink in the middle of printing. Buy some fresh cartridges while you're here online.

Great idea to make easy & unique gifts!
My children just finished making a mousepad to give Grandma for Mothers' Day. Please note you will need your own creative software to design the layout (we used Hanes T-Shirt maker as it has a mousepad option, then combined the program's graphics with an imported image of the children). The mousepad turned out wonderfully, the colors were sharp and not faded, and the directions for transferring the image were simple. I've used other transfer papers and found the paper included in this kit was sturdier and held the ink colors better without oversaturating in spots as can happen with other brands. The children are already planning on making end-of-year gifts for their teachers, scanning in class photos to make the mousepads.

overall preformance is not that great.
The Minolta qms 2200 printer prints great images. However it is very costly to maintain and breaks often. I think these oil rollers need to be better engineered!

Minolta 2200 QMS Color Laser in Mortgage Business
Someone actually had the initiative, the economics of small business, and the people in its factory to build a machine like this. I have had my 2200 Model for many months.

I wish I had bought another drawer, for Letter size full time,to go with my Legal size drawer(Actually it can either be Letter or Legal). This is not to say I can't Print on Letter at the same time because I can and do everyday, with the alternate feeder. The two drawer system allows 500 of each size paper to be utilized at the same time and not use the alternate feeder

I have used this Printer's maximum capability on many days. Since I am in the Mortgage Business I print color appraisals, loan documents, letters, approvals etc. I "used to have" several Ink Jet Color Printers for the Appraisals; and Black only Laser Jets for everything else. I spent $250-$300 per month on cartridges. My QMS Minolta Color Laser has already paid for itself and "I Love It".

Do I recommend this product? Yes, more than anything else I have ever bought, including food. And the 2nd Drawer is on my Amazon Wish List and in next years budget...

I bought One After Looking many Times
I have been going to my local electroncs store many times and looked at all the laser printers on the display. I had see this model on sale/off sale and with a rebate ect... I almost bought it a few times after demo-ing it at the store.. Finally I just Put It In My Cart and took it home. I Dont think it was a mistake at all... I would recomend it...

Nice printer for a PC user
It is huge it is heavy and you could turn the cardboard box into a new family room if you wanted. It is also quiet, faitly quick and the output looks very good. When printing post-script or word files the output is very crisp and clear, sharp enough to merrit the 1200dpi label, even serif fonts at tiny point sizes are clear. When printing images (black and white and color) of web pages and photos, the output is somewhat fuzzy, with clearly visible halftoning. Still, for spot color or printing color graphs and presentations the quality is quite good. For Mac users, you need to know that the Driver for os X is very basic, it does not support the built in duplexer, or some other features that the pc driver supports. Also as has been reported on some Mac (mac-in touch) news sites, future support for the Mac may be eliminated. Bad decision as far as I am concerned.

A very good little Monitor
After carefully going over many different makes/models of CRT's i finally decided on the Sony CPD-G200. Due to space contraints, i went with this relativly small-footprint 17" monitor. I work mainly with spreadsheets and 2D(some 3D) graphics, and so far the monitor has had GREAT color, clarity, contrast and looks rock solid at 1280x1024 @ 85Hz with no eye strain from all night work sessions. It turns on fast, looks simple/clean, leaves me more desk space and is trouble free. i use his bigger 19" brother at work all day and am very satisfied with my purchase.

Sony CPD-G200
A lot of reading and visiting stores went into this purchase..time well spent. When compared to Samsung and Viewsonic, this Sony wins hands down. The aperature grill tube is 50% brighter than the shadow mask tubes. The price was a little more, but the Sony reliability and techology is worth the difference. Set up was a snap, took 5 minutes. The only draw back is the On Screen Display controll ball (located under the front edge of the screen). It's location puts your wrist at an awkward angle to make adjustments, which are easy and logical to do. There is a nice reset button which fixes your initial errors in geometry adjustments. Focas is sharp and crisp even at 1280x1024. This model's 85mhz refresh rate has absolutely no flicker.

The labels look cool but only when you print one (there are two per page). When you go to print the second one, it gets stuck in the printer.

      Alps does it Dry
My Alps MD5000P printer has done me right for three years. The Econo-Black cartridge is perfect for printing draft quality pages. It will last and last and is the only cartridge from Alps that can be flipped over and re-used over and over. The econo-black has saved me hundreds of dollars when all you need is a readable copy for review. When ready for final printing use the regular Black ink cartridge option for high quality Dry print !!

        Picture here is misleading.
It's not Genuine HP toner. It's made by company called Amazon Imaging. Still works. don't know if it will out last the original HP spec but, regardless, don't expect to see HP package to arrive. BTW: There is printer cleaning utility available from HP web site. That will remove toner gunks when you install this cartridge. cleaning utility works great. toner so far so good.

          Works on my aging LaserWriter
My Apple Laserwriter IINT is so old that I have to use a serial-to-USB bridge to connect it to my MAC G3. The only reason I keep it around is because it handles Postscript, which my music printing program requires. So the cartridge above is a godsend. If for some reason you can't obtain the Apple toner, an
Hewlett Packard 92275A Laser Toner cartridge is compatible. I've got one in my LaserWriter right now, and it works just fine...

Good deal for a network Laser Printer
You really pay extra for the built-in printserver (compared to the 1440 model) but I think its worth it to hook up to your ethernet network. I have mine on an Mac airport wireless network and it works great. There have been a few adobe postscript errors when printing .pdf documents. The print quality is superb. Once you've had a laser, you never want to go back to inkjet and all that bother of constantly replacing ink cartriges.

          Worthy of serious consideration!!
65% of its use is as a copier, 20% as a printer and 15% as a fax machine. So far, it has perfomed as I expected. We have 3 Brother laserprinters in the office. Brother has always proven to be an excellent workhorse and this is no exception. Also, Brother provides great tech support for both Windows and Mac systems. I have no loyalty to Brother. But as long as their products have proven themselves, they stay near the top of my list.

Software installed without any problems on both Windows XP Pro and OS X. Haven't used the scanning abilities and I doubt we will (so I can't comment on its capabilities). But as a copier, fax and printer, it has worked great. The ADF is a pleasure (no jams after 3,000+ copies) and the copier itself is fast. This copier DOES have a page counter, but it can't be reset. So if you have an unknown amount of papers to put in the ADF and need 20 sets, you can determine the amount of copies made.

Toner life is an expected 6,700 pages and I suspect we'll get close to 6,300 before needing replacement (always seem to get 5% less then the expectd yield on text imaging). The unit did come with a smaller yielding toner cartridge (3,500 impressions), but we had the higher yielding in the office and used that first.

If there is one thing I wasn't expecting is the noise it makes. Not that it is any louder then the Canon 780 in our other office. Having various Brother printers throughout the office, this unit is a bit louder then I expected. Also, it is built well, but not as solid as the Canon 780. But comparing the two is like comparing a Buick to a Cadillac. Both good and reliable cars, just one make is slightly better constructed then the other. All in all, this is a great unit and worthy of serious consideration.
