I bought it new.It was a little pricey but the print quality blows away other desktop printers that i hve used or sen results from.

Print quality is wonderful. 11x17 size is exceptionally useful for graphic artists. Prints really fast--rated at 26 ppm for 8.5x11--perhaps not quite that but MULTIPLE copies of same page, or text only pages print very quickly.

Despite its 10/100 network interface, printing of the first page is slowed by the processor, especially for pages with high resolution graphics. Have not tried adding memory yet, but that may aid performance.

Toner cartridges cost [a lot]. While rated by the manufacturer to last 20,000 copies (8.5x11, 5% coverage), reality for us is more like 5,000 pages (which admittedly have graphics on them). Note that all manufacturers ratings are dubious in this category.

If you need 11x17 output, this is a value champion, though if your volume is high or you print a lot of large (in Mb) files, you should also check out the competition.

Better than the HP photo printer

This is a good copier for a small office/workgroup, probably in the 4-10 person range. Reasonably fast, good quality copies, a good range of presets. It does transparencies, heavy weight stock, and also labels (though feeding one sheet at a time works best for these). It takes a little while to warm up after the autosleep mode, but that's common with small copiers. The feed tray works well for relatively short documents (20 pages or so). The feeder is supposed to take 30 pages, but that's really pushing it.

Very easy to setup this copier, software installed exactly as expected. Software includes product manager software that was very clear when I had an early error during the setup. The software gave me the instructions to fix the error and it worked! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the lack of faxing, but the printing and copying is very good and exceptionally fast. I have tried similar products by HP and the Shartp was much faster and easier to install.

I bought the AL-841 because I needed a home copier and also to replace an obsolete laser printer. On balance, I love this unit. Installation was quick & easy with the supplied CD. The AL-841 doesn't need to be connected to a computer to copy. Stand-alone copying is fast, with excellent reproduction quality. If you are making multiple copies, it only needs to scan the original once, unlike some low-end copiers which need to scan the orignal for every copy. The front panel has standard zoom/reduction options along with continuous stepping.

As a laser printer it is very good. It takes a few seconds to start printing, but is fast once it gets going. Output is clear & sharp. I like the fairly straight paper path; it handles card stock easier than the "U" shaped path of some printers.

The things that prevent a 5 star rating are the lack of a document feeder for the copier/scanner, and scanning is only in gray scale, not color. Also, this is a Windows-only machine; it is not Mac or Linux capable. Since this was a recent purchase, I can't comment on the longevity or price of a replacement toner cartridge.

The Sharp AL-841 is a good choice for someone who needs a light duty copier/printer for home or a small office.

This Sharp EL-1750P is a pretty great printing calculator for the price. I needed one for my new job and didn't want to spend a lot, so this is what I got. The only thing that I didn't like about this calculator is that to subract one number from another, you have to press the number, then the plus sign, then the other number, then the minus sign. I don't know if this is how all of these types of calculators are or not, since this is the only one like this that I have ever used... but pressing the addition symbol to subract seemed a little weird to me. I am used to it now, but I tend to get frustrated using a regular calculator at home that actually adds everything when you hit the addition sign! Other than that, I am satisfied with the 18.99 I spent on it.

I carry the Sipix A6 printer -- and a box of Sipix A6 paper (sheets) -- with me in my briefcase.

Having to feed the sheets one-at-a-time into the printer is a little inconvenient. But the documents, once printed and stapled together (with the mini-stapler I carry with me), are much easier to read and file than with the A6 roll paper.

The Sipix A6 thermal paper isn't cheap. But thermal printing eliminates the need for ink jet cartridges -- which keeps the printer smaller, less expensive (to operate) and much more portable -- which is not a bad trade-off.

It could be better tf this toner cartridge can yield more pages... It is still much cheaper when compare it to HP, NEC, Samsung, or Lexmark.

The only thing more frustrating at work than finding that someone has left the copier jammed is wasting time trying to find the supplies to refill it when it's empty. I like this stand because it provides a quick way to find paper, toners, etc., and helps keep the supply area neat.
