not as good as a new cartridge, but close
it's a very good product. like other refill kits i've tried, the ink smears more and dries more slowly than the original cartridge. however, the instructions are simple and the kit is more complete and easier to use than the office depot version. since staples stopped selling it, i'm stocking up.

and yes, rubber gloves won't hurt, and definitely refill outside or on newspaper.

Amazed at Ease of Use, Quality & Price
If you're skeptical about using this product let me tell you why you shouldn't be: 1)Great Quality 2)Surprisingly Easy to Use... AND Dataproducts, the manufacturer, gives a 100% guarantee that it is compatible with HP printer it's made for. You can't go wrong. I've used it several times and I'm very happy with it...

Dataproducts Cartridge for HP51645A
This was the first time I had to replace my cartridge and it was so easy a child could have done it. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the product performs just as well as the original cartridge, to say nothing for the savings. I would highly recommend it to anyone. In addition, let me say the service from Amazon was outstanding...

HP 10 ink Cartridge system
This would be good if you were using up all the ink in each cartridge at least every 9 months or so. The problem HP built into this system is that the cartridges expire (and may not have much time on them when you buy them--and there is no marking on the box or unit to tell you the expiration date). If even one of the colors has expired the printer gives an error message and WILL NOT PERMIT YOU TO PRINT. So the net result is YOU HAVE TO THROW AWAY HALF FULL CARTRIDGES!!! This eliminates any potential savings. The ink is still good and they could have simply given a warning and let the customer the right to decide if they wanted to change ink before it was used up.
DON'T BE FOOLED INTO THINKING THAT THIS PRINTER WILL SAVE YOU COSTS ON INK.

Best for your printer, Worst for your pocketbook
This is a great printer and the ink cartridge system is tops - but this item is available elsewhere for much less. Amazon should do better than this.

Great printer, great supplies
This printer family is wonderful if you do a lot of printing. The printers are pretty costly, but because you can replace each color of ink separately, and replace the printing jet heads for each color separately also, you can save a lot on replacement supplies. These ink cartridges hold a *lot* of ink.

By comparison, with a lot of cheap printers, if the yellow runs out, or the holes in the magenta printing jet plug, you need a whole new cyan-yellow-magenta ink-and-jet cartridge -- and the cartridges usually hold very little ink.

This type of ink has excellent darkness range, from very faint gray to very high-contrast black. The color cartridges have great color range. Together, the overall color range is almost as good as a specialty "photo" printer, but the ink doesn't cost nearly as much. While it really looks great on fancy paper, it works well even on cheap paper...

missing
while evaluating and choosing a paper product, an expert would look for the scientific weight (metric g/m²). Your packaging, lists and samples are missing this information. Also it would be good to know whether a piece of paper is acide free (archival) or not. Maybe the luminocity level???

Digital pictures look great on this paper!
What fun are your digital pictures if you can't print some of them and take them along?

Thats exactly what I do sometimes and this paper gives me exactly what I need. This glossy paper gives my printed pictures quality as sharp as my computer displays them. Combined with a quality printer ( i use an HP 842C ), colors come out vivid and the clarity is very nice.

Sure its expensive, but if you want to print your digital pictures then this is the paper for you. Hope this helps.

Brochure/Flyer Paper Great for newer Printers!!
If you have an older HP printer, 550C etc. The Hewlett Packard C3833A Premium Ink Jet Glossy Paper ($8.94 for 10 Sheets) really adds that extra kick to your work. The High Gloss paper adds great quality to the limited dpi of the printer thus bringing out vivid brilliant colors to your work.

BUT IF YOU HAVE A NEWER HP printer like the 930C, they produce stuning results with the Hewlett Packard C6817A Professional Brochure & Flyer two sided, paper ($8.64 for 50 sheets) MUCH BETTER PRICE PER SHEET, and the pictures are awesome with this paper too. As good as or better than the Hewlett Packard C3833A Premium Ink Jet Glossy Paper because the Brochure/Flyer paper does not artificially shine like plastic like the other high gloss paper does.

The best bang for the buck for the newer printers is definitely the Hewlett Packard C6817A Professional Brochure & Flyer Paper two sided ($8.64 for 50 sheets). WOW!!!

A bit more than you pay for
This is a good basic printer, nothing flashy but VERY cheap. I was surprised by the quality for the price. HOWEVER, I was also dismayed by how quickly I ran thru the first black ink cartridge. (Less than 100 pages I believe). As another reviewer points out the replacement cartridges are comparatively inexpensive, but I'm old enough to remember getting a whole year of typing out of one Selectric ribbon...anyway, great basic printer if you're on a tight budget, for students, or as a backup.

It's average..
I also had an older Canon printer which used the BC-02 cartridges and upgraded to a newer Canon S300 printer last year which uses the BCI-24 cartridge and noticed the water resistant difference. The BC-02 ink seemed to be a higher quality as I don't recall my children smudging school printouts near as much as they do with the BCI-24. This is unfortunate but it's a cheap printer..bound to have lower quality ink I suppose.

Great Basic printer
Basic, inexpensive and gets the job done. I have two printers and this is the default. It helps when wrting papers and cheap enough to have a backup cartridge laying about vs. my other printer where they are almost 10 times more costly.

1 year wonder
I got this printer with my new Gateway system a little over a year ago and it died. Using less than 1 cartridge I would think it would last a little longer. The paper would lock into place and get stuck in that one place. I don't recommend this printer

How durable is it?
I have a Epson Stylus 600. The quality of the print is good, but, the quality of the printer is not. The printer only good for about 800 pages, then the nozzle broke, and the printer does not work any more. So is a friend of mine with his Epson Stylus 870.

I would like to doubt the durability of Epson ink jet printers.

Great Printer, But Very Noisy
I bought this printer recently and have used it for a couple monthsnow. As far as quality goes, this is as good as any Inkjet printer I've seen. We have an HP Inkjet printer also and this Epson printer cranks out just as good of results as the HP--the printers are very comparable. This Epson printer was about $10 cheaper than the HP 612, its counterpart...Another important thing about this printer: the ink refills aren't too bad (price-wise) compared to say, the Lexmark Z11, this printer's counterpart in the Lexmark brand. The refills aren't any more expensive than the average Inkjet printer. My only complaint with this printer is that it makes terrible racket when printing. It is much, much, noisier than the HP printer and as noisy of a printer as I've heard. May not be an issue with most people, merely an annoyance. The main thing is quality and this printer passes with flying colors. Oh, one more key thing about this printer: it is USB compatible. You will be very hard-pressed to find another USB compatible printer at this price. If you can get past the noise of this printer, I highly recommend it. Epson is a solid printer manufacturer.

ONLY FOR EPSON 777
My Epson-777 printer died for good, after two very usefull years.
Now I just found out that EPSON ink cartriges can only be used by one kind of printer and I'm stuck with 5 color and 4 black cartrigdes I cannot return, this is about 200 dlls.
Now I change to a HEWLETT PACKARD, with their printers you can use the same kind of ink cartriges on several kind of printers. Hopefully I won't end up with another 200 dlls. waist.

Quality but expensive
I don't use the printer a lot. My work is largely limited to printing text but I seem to replace the color cartridges every few months. The price here is better than an office supply store but still expensive. The color is beautiful, near photo quality on photo paper. The printer will not let you print black and white text if you are out of *color* ink.

What You Should Know
My printer came with my Home Internet Appliance, so I didn't CHOOSE it. I've tried compatible cartridges, but the color is wierd, so you really have no choice but to buy Epson Genuine Cartridges. I think they personally sell their printers at reasonable prices, and then "GET" you on the ink jet cartridges. As everyone else has stated, you do not get the promised amount of pages per cartridge.

Agree on paper path problems
Prints well, good size, scans, etc., but I completely agree that there's a major design flaw with the paper path. We've been having the same problem at my small office with multiple pages going through at once. We've tried a couple of different papers, but it doesn't sound like that's going to help. This problem doesn't make it unusable, just a constant source of annoyance. Thanks a lot HP.

Terrible paper feeder ruins promising all-in-one.
Initially, this seemed like an excellent purchase. Solid laser print quality, particularly with faxes. Relatively easy set up. Good print speed.

But after one year of personal (not business) use, a problem developed with the paper tray . . . it feeds multiple pages at once, sometimes the entire 30-40 sheets in the feeder bin. This is a real problem if you hope to receive faxes while away from home. Be ready to look at the cover page only.

We tried every type of printer paper, cleaned the rollers, followed every suggestion in the manual. Finally, we buckled down and emailed HP's famous customer service. That was three months ago, and we still have not heard from them. Last week, I called the service number and was told that since the one-year warranty was up, they would only help me for a hefty fee. In a fit of honesty, the service rep. confided to me that HP has gotten hundreds of complaints identical to mine and that - even if I paid the fee - there wasn't anything he could do.

In short, the paper feeder doesn't work. And, unfortunately, it ruins an otherwise strong printer. HP has treated us so poorly that we're now looking to replace this "lemon" with a Xerox or Brother.

Lousy Paper path
Great machine if you like jams etc. It worked great for about a year and then started sending multiple pages thru at the same time. Currently it sends up to 30 pages through and jams ruining all the paper. Forget this one, its too bad it had good promise.

HP does not reply to problems
I purchased a HP2000C printer April 1999 for home use for [price]. It had fine quality print. I three weeks ago said I needed to replace the black print head and I did and it still did not work and replace the other 3 print heads total [price]and it still does not work. I have [price]in ink cartridges not used so I asked for help from HP three days ago and have not heard of thing. Prior to that I used as much a Cannon 600e and it is still in operation, gave it to my Dad, and never had to do anything with it. I recently ordered a Epson C80 for [price]less Epson rebate of [price]and I bet it last longer. I suggest Epson or Cannon.

HP 2200 SE - Good Printer
I've been using my HP 2200 SE for abount 9 months and had no problems. Paper pick-up (fan the paper for best results) and drivers work fine. The printer works faster on the "best" quality print mode with Windows ME. Everything works OK on Windows XP - but the "best" quality print mode is a lot slower. "Normal" print mode is very adequate for pictures (or anything else) and its speed is acceptable. The "draft" mode is fast - but don't expect pictures to be very great.

I have used the HP 2200SE on Pentium (200) (with Windows ME); Pentium II (400) (with WIndows ME); Pentium 4 (1.4 gHz) (with WIndows ME and upgraded to WIndows XP); Pentium 4 (1.8 gHz) (with WIndows XP).

This printer uses HP no. 11 ink cartridges (one for each color) and Hp no. 10 for black. Also note that as of 12/7/2001 this web site does not carry HP no. 11 cartridges. But, you can get them elsewhere.

On a normal day I print photos on high quality photo paper as well as normal (everyday) paper with good results. Light weight card stock (business card stock) works OK - but if you go to a heavier paper the HP 2200SE begins to have problems.

If the printer needs to be replaced under warranty they over night a refurbished printer to you. BUT - my experience with HP refurbished printers is not so great (I had to return 2 refurbished printers - and the one I finally accepted has its own (shall we say) personallity. The return was with a HP 2000 printer after about 2 years of service.

Overall the HP 2200SE printer, I have, is a good printer and a refinement of the HP 2000CSE printer. I'll probably be buying an additional HP 2200SE in the next month.

Easy set up
The most difficult thing about setting up this printer was taking it out of the box. HP has done a great job making it simple and easy to use.

the picture shown is not what you get
You really shouldn't show the picture of the genuine HP cartridges when the seller sends you a knock off that doesn't work as well. This is false advertising! You can't show a picture of something and sell something else! And there was nothing said about getting a knock-off product. If you're looking for ink for ur inkjet, don't get it here.. it may be cheap, but it's not the real thing, and it doesn't work well. every few times i print i get these ugly streaks and i have to print over again.

Don't even think of clicking "used" button! Buy only "NEW"
Don't even think of clicking the "used" button; you'll be sorry. When it comes to so-called "remanufactured" cartridges especially for HP inkjet printers, don't take the chance. The "used" cartridge doesn't last as long, there's a possibility that the cartridge may explode, rendering your printer useless, and probably you'll void the warrenty on the printer. Don't be deceived, buy only "new" for HP printers (especially because the head is in the print cartridge.) Also a note to the Amazon people: Don't show a picture of a twin pack for the "used" product, because that's not what your getting in the mail if you buy it.

black print
This product is a long lasting cartridge that is very good quality. I use a HP Photosmart 1000 printer.
