We had an old HP before and I wasn't interested in buying another one for bad results with the old one; we bought the DeskJet 932C and right now... I am printing the 22nd page of "nothing" than letters and numbers of all kind, just because a sheet got stock. It's doing this every time we get a page that get stock. 2* for the quality of the pictures.

this is my first HP printer ever and I love it! I previously owned an epson and it drives me nuts. this 932C is great. it's fast and the color is crisp and dry quickly, unlike my old epson. sometimes it will print weird codes because it is too sensitive. I learned not to put more than 2 sheets of paper because sometimes this printer can go nuts too, printing a page with 1¼ pages! but, hey, I love this printer.

This printer should come with ear plugs .Did i mention it was slow ? It also has poor printing quality for the price.I would say if you are going to buy a printer , don't buy this one. BUY A CANNON !!! TWO THUMBS DOWN!

The printer has very good quality, is fast and show you when you ink is in the end. I really liked my choice. I would buy this printer again.

Took weeks to get & didn't print colors correctly, even after downloading the latest drivers from HP. Must not have been reconditioned after all.

I love HP accessories and this printer is great. It is reliable, quiet, and I have never had any problems what so ever with this printer.

I purchased thinking it would clear the clutter created by printing accesories on my desktop. Wrong barely enough room for more than 2 ink cartridges, my printers holds 3 at a time. The paper tray wont hold more than a 100 sheets at a time. The drawer is and the whole unit is cheap plastic. This item is truly a waste of money. If your shopping for this i really recommend getting a printing stand rather than this.

I got this for my Epson printer. I dont have alot of office space so I thought this would be nice to have. I was right it saves me alot of space and looks nice too. It would be good for any printer, fax or whatever you want to put upon it! It gets 5 stars because it does what its supposed to and it is sturdy enough to do it well!

This is a very fast reliable high quality printer. The duplex feature is just amazing - it saves so much paper. Wish I could have one at home.

It seems silly to write a review of something you can't choose. You either need this product or you don't. Still, one would wish, more like a dream than as a serious hope, that one day printer manufacturers might, like pharmaseutical companies, allow generic brands of their ink cartridges. Until then, I guess we're just stuck with being the victims of a monopoly.

Nevertheless, there are two important things to mention, here. The label "C1823A" has been supplanted in most retail locations by "C1823D". It's the same cartridge with a new suffix code. Also, if you buy your cartridges in small quantities, you might want to pay attention to the 2-pack version of this product. It does offer significant savings over buying them individually.

(The one-star review is delivered not because there's anything inherently wrong with the cartridge. If anything, it's a spiffy technology that produces great results. I just resent that HP has a monopoly on my cartridge needs and no one at the Attourney General's office seems to mind.)

I am very pleased with the recycled cartridges. I ordered two. Prints are crisp and clear. Nice photo colors. Quick delivery on order. Absolutely no complaint on this order.

Prior to ordering this I was (overly) concerned with the print rate, which sounded painfully slow. In practice the print *speed* has not cramped my style one bit, but the print *accuracy* has. I do most of my printing out-of-doors and ambient light, space, etc. are critical to getting a good IR transmission and a clean 'record'. I highly suggest making a jig to hold the printer and other device in appropriate positions to each other. I made a jig for my purposes and that's what makes this printer an indispensable tool.

The HP infrared printer is excelent for printing graphics and amortize tables, the only problem is that is very slow. It has a good range of infrared frequency and its a great companion of the 17BII HP Financial Calculator. Look terrific in your desk.-

At first this printer worked well, but after a year it is nothing but trouble.

To begin with, you can't print more than 4-5 pages before the "page grabber" will start to grab more than one sheet of paper at a time, and the text ends up going across both of them.

Then there is the printer driver, which is also not up to par -- where is the manual two sided printing that has been in the classic Mac OS for all of these years?

In short, this was my last HP printer. The jamming paper feed is too much for me to handle.

This is a good quality printer. HP makes better ones, but the price for this one is good. I have had no problems with it so far and have had it for and year and a half. The color cartriges are the problem. ... I heard the grey cable that goes into the back of the printer was getting recalled because of possible electrocution and shock hazard. It was made by Longwell electronics. Seems fine to me.

I just bought this printer for my office and am sad to report that contrary to the product information provided on this page, this printer's bluetooth capabilities DO NOT SUPPORT MACINTOSH/APPLE OSX. I'm upset to say the least, as I have a powerbook and bluetooth was the reason I bought this printer.

The HP Deskjet 995ck Inkjet printer is an updated version of the 995c printer, which was first released in 2001. The 995ck was released in September 2003, and the differences between the two are minor. The 995c came standard with the duplex (two sided) printing unit and an infrared sensor. For the 995ck, the duplex unit is optional and the infrared sensor has been dropped. Hewlett Packard (HP) has dozens of printers available both in the Laser and Inkjet category. I will explain below why I think that the 995ck is one of the best Inkjet printers on the market for under $500.00. I also purchased the HP 175x Jet Direct Print Server along with the printer.

Prior to purchasing the HP 995ck, I owned an Epson Stylus Color 800 Inkjet printer. It was the top rated Inkjet printer discussed in several computer magazine reviews at the time. I was looking to replace it with a unit of comparable quality and capacity. My requirements were as follows:

A) Excellent text and graphics printing on plain paper - Graphics being defined as pages printed from the internet or downloaded magazine articles which are then printed for later reading, perhaps with graphs, charts, etc.

B) An ink cartridge life of approximately 1000 pages, and reasonable printing speed.

C) Relatively low cost per page expense.

D) A full-featured Ethernet connection that would operate just like my HP 4050TN Laser printer, which has a built-in Ethernet connection. I have a home office with four computers and wanted everyone to be able to use both printers without my computer needing to be on to print.

E) A well built unit mechanically, which would stand up to occasional office use for a long time without parts falling off.

F) A printer capable of good photo printing, but top quality photos were not needed.

The HP 995ck was the best choice among 15 printers that I evaluated or read about. There are many Inkjets available for less than the $249.00 that I paid for this one, but in one respect or another they didn't cut it for me. Many of the low cost Inkjets appeared to be made very cheaply, using plastic parts in some spots that look like they may not last very long. Even the other HP low cost printers looked to me a bit flimsy, particularly the paper tray components. I suppose for $99.00 I shouldn't be so picky.

The other area I found to be a problem was getting a printer with a Network connection without having to buy a third party print server box. In many cases, these units do not work correctly with every printer and my research shows that in the reverse direction (that is when the printer sends status information back to the computer), they do not work at all. The 175x is bidirectional with most HP printers, however before making a purchase, check out the HP website for a list of compatible units. The 995ck comes standard with a USB connection.

The HP 995ck is cost effective with ink, with an average cost per page of about 5 cents. It has optional high capacity ink cartridges if you want them, and they are not that expensive (relative to other models). The other nice thing about the ink cartridges is that they have built in ink nozzles, so when you replace the ink cartridge you are also replacing the nozzle. Some printers made by other companies do not have an option for the user to replace the ink nozzle. The user would, in the case of ink nozzle failure, just buy a whole new printer.

The printing quality of the 995ck is excellent for both text and graphics, even on plain copy paper, and it prints quite a bit faster than my old Epson. As far as the build quality of this unit, I consider it better than most of the lower cost Inkjet units, including those made by HP. It does have plastic parts but they appear to be more solid than other units I looked at.

The 175x Jet Direct print server is an external print server, housed in a small box with the footprint of a 3x5 index card, and costs about $159.00. It turns the 995ck and some other HP inkjets into full-featured network printers. (NOTE - check the HP website for a compatible printer list and network capabilities). This allows the owner to share the printer with others on the network. It also allows you to locate the printer up to 100 feet away from the computer. It comes with a Installation wizard which worked quite well, although you may wind up calling HP's technical support if you are not that familiar which setting up networks.

I am very pleased with the 995ck although I have only had it for a short time. In other review articles on the web, when they discuss this printer, the focus was always on the Bluetooth connection. I have no interest in this feature and simply turned it off. One of the control panels has a button to shut it the Blue tooth connection down, if you don't need it. A well known consumer magazine recently reviewed some Inkjet printers and liked this one too.

HP puts a self-destruct chip in their cartridges which prevents their use after a specified period whether they have ink or not. If one of the color cartridges has "expired" the printer stops working, even if only black ink is needed.

HP has created a money machine. You are forced to keep paying whether you print or not!

the ink cartridge is the best you can buy for the printer. I am impressed with HP.
