I realize that printers are cheap and that the manufacturers make their profit on the sell of the ink cartridges, but this is terrible. These cartridges are too high priced and very inconvenient. I can't find them on the shelves at the stores, so they have to be ordered. I'm always out of Black Ink.

I bought a cheap Xerox printer, the Docuprint C8, that uses this small black ink cartridge. I am constantly running out of ink. Avoid the printer that uses this cartridge unless you enjoy shopping for office supplies.

This product MUST be given some credit! Considering the quality of Xerox printers, ink, and especially their customer service, not to mention the affordabilty of it all (c'mon people, it's not like these cartridges cost hundreds of dollars!), I am rather pleased. I don't understand the fuss when we purchased our printers, admittedly "cheap," and are now complaining about ordering the ink for them. I would suggest a few things for all those folks who are grossly displeased with a product I have been quite content with. First, contact the store where you purchased the printer and inquire about getting ink from there. Then when you order (or when you get it online) get enough to hold you over for long enough so you aren't delayed in any of your printing projects. It is always an option to contact Xerox directly, which I have done, and have been VERY satisfied.

Also, I highly recommend that you cut down on how much ink your printer uses at one time. Believe it or not, reducing your print quality to "draft copy" makes very little difference with a newer Xerox ink cartridge. I find the print quality under any circumstance to be good. I have been and expect to continue to be a satisfied Xerox customer, despite some minor "inconveniences" encountered along the way. In comparison to some other ink cartridges that are readily available in every store, I would rather save BIG with a product that I enjoy and a company with a great reputation and customer service to match.

Bought this printer just over a year ago. It printed OK until recently. Now it appears to have memory problems. Prints a page or so, then garbage. Colors went south, terrible resolution, color matches. Into the garbage it goes.

My older color inkjet was slow and needed cartridges. I bought a P-2200 for what it would have cost me to buy new catridges for my old printer. I've printed color photos on HP photo paper and quality was far better than I had expected. Cartridge life is better than other inexpensive inkjets. More expensive inkjets may be faster, but this is a good, solid printer for home use - especially for kids!

I bought one of these printers and fresh out of the box it didn't work. They sent me a refurbished printer for a brand new printer. They did see the error of their ways and sent me a new printer which lasted a few months before I had to send that one back. They sent me another printer and that one lasted the longest about 7 months. Overall, in one year I went through 5 of these printers before I said enough and they pro-rated my refund. So if you're a risk taker go ahead and buy it.

I've had my BJC 6000 for over 5 years and am very satisfied with the product. The print quality is still great after all these years and hundreds (if not a couple thousand) of copies for me and the kids. I found the ink tank system to be exceptional. I never threw out any unused ink like I did with my HP multicolor cartidges. I was going thru quite a few cartridges and started to refill my own. I've saved a lot of money however, the quality is just not the same no matter what the inkjet aftermarket folks say. For the quality jobs, I stick with genuine canon products. The only griped I've had are the startup is noisy and the hign resolution printing is sloooow. However, I'd buy another BJC 600 except... in the past few years the ink jet printers have gotten even cheaper and better!

One star is too high a rating for this worse than useless product.

I bought one of these ink tanks at a local Target while waiting for delivery of 2 I ordered from Amazon.com. Print quality was good for 10 pages or less in our Canon BJC-4100. The cartridge stopped printing in the middle of a page. I took the cartridge out and shook it. Ink came out. I put it back in the printer and tried printing again. The printer printed one and one-half pages before the ink stopped again. We had a spare color cartridge, so I stupidly installed the Dataproducts ink tank in it to see if the problem was with the Canon BC-21 Color Cartridge. This didn't work either. I bought a Canon BCI-21 Black Ink Tank. Our printer printed blank sheets with this tank installed in both cartridges. Our printer is old, so I will buy a new printer before purchasing a new cartridge.

I use the Dataproducts "Compatible Cartridge for Canon BJC4000 (Black) (replaces BCI-21BK)" with my Apple Color StyleWriter 2500. The print quality on black and white documents is very good for the price. To me, black is black, and I notice very few differences in print quality between this ink tank and Apple or Canon products. For the price, this deal cannot be beat.

This product is awful. At first, it didn't work at all; I called the 800-number listed on the back of the box (right under the "Warranty"). The technician told me that I would have to run the "clean nozzles" feature on my printer about six time. It actually took ten times until I got any ink out. The print quality remains awful--white streaks and extremely fuzzy around the edges. I called them back only to find out that while there is a warranty, all returns or replacements are exclusively handled through their retailers--what a pain! In short, I recommend spending the extra money for an HP cartridge--at least they work!

This is a pretty good cartridge. It lasted for a while and overall, it had good ink and little smears.

its cheaper to buy a new printer, which comes with the black and color cartridges. I got a z65 for $50. its nice to know we live in such a disposable world....

This is the black cartridge to use if you own a number of Lexmark printers. I use it in my X6150. I am very happy with the print quality with the black as well as the color (18L0042). You really must just get the cartridge out of the printer to figure out the part number though, I haven't found anything anywhere that links my printer to this cartridge.
The price is in line with other print cartridges, it is easy to get in and out and you don't make a mess with it. You should be able to get 600 pages out of one cartridge, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm doubtful I'll get that many but I print a lot of photos.
Overall, a good product.

I bought this double pack of replacement cartriges because it said it was compatible with the KX-FPC96 fax machine. However the core was too large to fit in the slot. I'm sure it works just fine in other machines but not the KX-FPC69.

This replacement film is needed for the FP80 Series of panasonic fax machines. The only thing I don't like about them is that they run out quickly if you copy a lot of things. There is not many different types of this film to compare it with, but overall, it is good enough minimal use. If you have a lot of faxes coming in, or you use it for copying, just keep a couple of extra ones around.

I have had some experiences with 3rd party inks and my Epson Stylus 850 - and none have been good.

First of all, note that the product page says that it will not void your warranty - you better double check that with Epson - When they replaced my first 850 because of clogged heads (3rd party inks) they warned me that 3rd party inks void the warranty (if the problem is with the print heads).

I have tried several 3r party inks and, although I have not had as bad a problem as my first experience which ruined a printer, I have yet to find one that does not clog the heads - period. Some are a bit less of a problem, but they ALL have clogged the heads. How much $$ savings do you really get if you use 1/2 the cartridge to clean the heads?

Furthermore, every 3rd party ink, including Rinotek, has proven to be less intense and quicker to fade.

If you have an old Epson that you don't mind getting killed by poor ink, give them a shot and report back here. If you plan to keep your printer - get Genuine Epson inks.

Product clogged print head on Sytlus Color 800. Dozens of cleaning cycles did not correct problem

Had to purchase Epson cartidge and perform several cleanings to make printer functional.

I saved a ton of money by using this ink. Epson costs so much money. I wanted to save a few bucks, so I gave this a try. It's wonderful. I can't tell a difference! So, I bought cartridges for my other printer, too. Give it a try.

This is not an HP printer as you remember them. This is poorly built and will fail as soon as it's out of warrantee. As a matter of fact, mine warrantee was only 6 months.

BUYER BEWARE !!!

I work at a school and have had two 3320's break in the past week. HP's aren't what they used to be when you consider that there are still a lot of DeskWriter C's and DeskWriter/DeskJet 500 series printers still working on campus. Shame on HP for not fixing the design and continuing to sell printers with the same fatal flaw!

I can't believe this printer is so quiet and works so good for fifty bucks. As the other reviewer mentioned about the USB cable and black cartridge not being in the box, that is an annoyance that HP should address, but other than that, if you need a low cost printer for student and/or home use, you will not be disappointed. Pretty decent printing even for color pictures. I have previously owned other hp's and epson's that I paid hundreds more for, and this was a pleasant surprise.

Guys listen to this...out of 10 pages of text I rpint out 7 will get jammed up in the machine. I bought many lexmark products in the past because of its cheap price...but believe me, what you pay is what you'll get. The printer design is very wreckless. the feeder is very unbalanced; always tipping to the right. Since I am a computer technician I know how to fix some of the problemms. Its a hassle even for me to fix this piece of junk every week, I can't imagine for the regular folks at home. The fax dial design its idiotic. Does not promote a easy way for you use a callings card to dial out. If you purchase this product and want to send this through a phone card, you'll be sitting there for an hour just to send 2 pages. When I call for tech support, they deny that this is their problem. This is my last lexmark product. I would suggest everyone the same.

I know this thing has been discontinued, but I'm hoping nobody will waste their money on a used one. Since day one, this thing has been a nightmare. When it works, which isn't often, it does nothing well.
Everything it can do, it does poorly and slowly. Also, it uses ink like an SUV uses gas. Stay far away from this thing. I'll never buy another Lexmark product again.

We run XP Pro and after doing an OS reinstall the Lexmark X63 started error out with "Device Busy". After a few attempts to troubleshoot the problem, we went to www.lexmark.com and on their site is two downloads available for XP. After installing downloads, the error message is gone and the X63 is back to itself.

Summary of features: Printer and Fax will occasionally feed more than one page at time if paper is not loaded carefully (as with any Lexmark printer you have to 'gently' place the paper in the feeder). The scanner quality can take a few adjustments before getting the desired product. However, overall this has been a good product for us.
