I have owned this sound card and included software for 6 months now. After all is said an done I am very happy with this sound card. Pitfalls: 1. After installing hardware and software my computer hung at the windows 98 Splash screen. After 3 hours of tweaking I finally logged onto Turtle Beach's website with a friends computer where I quickly identified the problem. Norton antivirus conflicted with new drivers. (Note:If possible,review TBeach's troubleshooting page.It is difficult to address problems after installation if you have no computer to access the internet) 2. To date, I have been unable to make my second headphone jack work. ( No sound ) I have checked Turtle Beach's website to no avail. However, I have yet to contact Turtle Beach's tech support directly. 3. Take note, you will need two available expansion slots in the rear of your computer. Moreoever,they will have to be adjacent to each other. However, one of the expansion cards does not connect to your motherboard. The 2nd expansion card simply connects to your primary expansion card via a included cable and then slips into the expansion slot. 4. If you have two CD devices such as a CD-ROM/CD-WRITER or DVD player you will have to buy an extra Audio Line Cable to connect the 2nd CD device to the Hardwares dedicated Auxilary sound card connection. ( I used a 15 inch Audio cable with a MPC-2 Connector(keyed) on both ends. 5. Software not effective in reducing pops,hiss etc. from analog recordings like that from a vinyl record. Acalades: 1. Hardware was very easy and straightforward to install. ( A getting started guide was included with package ) 2. Software package installed quickly. ( Once again the getting started guide was very helpfull in the manner that it contained screen shots of every window you should see during installation) 3. Wow. When you first see the Digital Orchestra Pro GUI you wonder if you have to have a college degree to navigate. Fortunatelly the Software comes with a VIDEO TUTORIAL that explains most items to you in a suffiient manner. The package comes ith an extensive help manual in Adobe PDF format. Don't worry the CD includes the an ADOBE installation file to install the PDF reader onto your computer. 4. Great sound, I have 80 watt speakers(MS Sound System 80 connected to my computer and the sound improvement alone was very noticeable. 5. I can connect my DAT recorder and MINIDISC recorder to my computer now via pure digital connections. DAT via S/PDIF cable MINI DISC via Fiber Optic Cable. 6. I can play a MIDI,WAV,MP3 etc. track and simultaneously record the track as a new WAV file. 7. Great editing features for all digital sound files and MIDI sound files. Near perfect editing with regards to the ease of editing a sound file. 8. Finally,an easy way to convert a MIDI file format to a WAV file format with out dealing with cables and connections. Simply play the MIDI file and simultaneusly record it as a WAV file on your computer desktop. 9. After completing a project and recording to a CD via my CD Writer, the end results sounded perfect and professional.

Who should PURCHASE this product?? Anyone who is a music enthusiast,musician or singer and wants to create a professional CD with their own vocals or instrumental solo accompanied with other instruments and background vocals. Note: Software does not include a complete library of background voice tracks or instrumental tracks. You will have to create all music or purchase an optional CD that contains music library's.

Who should NOT PURCHASE this product?? Anyone who wants to create a fancy DJ type mixe by simply draging and dropping sound samples. *Although, If you are a DJ and want more flexibility with regards to your mixes then this product is definetly worth your attention because you can mix up to 1000 sound tracks.

My cousin has this, and i have been using it for the past year. It's really fun and cool to work with if u know how to use it. I am thinking about buying one soon, so maybe i can buy it this year. I really recommend it!

I wanted to buy the x-gamer really bad, but i look at my wallet and there were $ NO MORE! , so i decided to buy the aureal vortex 2 that i'd seen in magazines, look, what is important is the chip, i've never heard from digital research but now i know they r fine, the sound is extremely clean and the games, in particular system shock 2 sounds GREAT, the sound appears to come from everywhere in the room, u have to have a nice speeker team to squeeze everything from this lady-.

this a great sound card i really felt the 3d sound when i just pluged it in ..it has an easy installation and its good for gaming if u looking for a good sound card for gaming try this one..and im sure u will love it...

I have not used very expensive cards like the audigy. A sound card needs to really only make decent sound and allow for decent mic recording. This card goes above and beyond. For a price less than a basic sound blaster 16, you get surround sound, very high sound quality and numerous other features all in a working package. I bought this becuase I was having problems with the sound that came with my comp, and it solved every one of them. I don't use surround sound, but judging by how the rest of this card functions, im sure it works very well.

Not to mention this card is red instead of green, which is cool

Roland has done it again! The Ua-3d is the only low price, high quality option for mac users who want to feel the thrill of three dimensional sound. It's easy to use "plug and go" concept makes it a must have for any novice computer user while its high quality sound and options make it a must have for any computer experts. And to make matters even better, its USB interface makes it not only compatable with Macs but also with PCs. Truly a must have.

This is an overall great product with great sounds of a 4 speaker output definitely the best product for its price. Definitely buy one today before they sell out. This is a great product it is a plug and play, and PCI which makes it simple to install and setup. Best sound card yet!

I bought this card to replace a Soundblaster 16 PCI. Having a VIA chipset in my computer, I was concerned about upgrading to any of Creative's cards, because of their infamous problems, so I picked this as a cost effective upgrade. Installation could not have been easier, and sound that it outputs is incredible, it is as good as any of the audigy cards that I have heard. If you are a major audiophile maybe this falls short for everyone else this is a first rate deal!!!!!

This sound card rocks! Coming from the classic soundblaster, this product has changed my life. I suggest this for everyone that is building a new computer.

The fair market value of ~$75.00 for these speakers is quite attractive, never-the-less, I returned my set a week after purchase and I will tell you why.

1) Sound quality is marginal at best. The highs are only apparent & clear if you turn the bass down to about 15-20% and the treble to about 55-60%. Without this adjustment, the sound is quite muddy and highs are lost to the droning lows. If you listen to these speakers next to Klipsch 2.1's ($140) or Creative's 250D's ($125) you will be amazed at the difference in accuracy and clarity. Now, admittedly, the VS4121's are half the price (roughly) but the difference is well worth the increase in QUALITY sound considering more and more of our entertainment is computer based (for instance - my entire audio collection is on my drive).

* Sidenote for your understanding: I listen to a great deal of Electronic which has a wide frequency range. Highs are extremely important. These speakers couldn't keep up. I also had a problem with 1 single track where low's were cutting out all together.

2) The manufacturer warns of a detectable buz or hum from the sub if the a/c current in your home operates @ 60 cycles. This is picked up and transmitted through the sub whether your speakers are connected to an audio source or not. This problem is WITHOUT REMEDY. My house was built in 1998 (relatively new) yet this became an enormous problem, regardless of where I plugged them in. The manual says that it's only detectable at low levels or with no audio source. A track would end and I would hear bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz until the next track began or I shut the speakers off completely. I don't experience this problem with any other speakers (multimedia or otherwise) in my home.

3) For the price (MSRP of $129.00), a remote (wired or wireless) would be a wonderful upgrade. You may not realize but reaching for the satellite to adjust EQ and volume is troublesome especially considering they need adjustment quite frequently.

Other than these gripes, the finish of the sub and satellites is quite nice and the audio cables are longer than they were on the old ATP3's which helps with configuration options.

I went into Best Buy to look at expensive receivers to replace my old broken down one, and decided to take a look at some computer speakers as I listen to all my music and watch all my movies through my PC. It took me all of 30 seconds to decide to buy these speakers instead. I couldn't believe the sound that was I was hearing. The Bose speakers positioned right next to them (that were the same price) didn't sound nearly as good. Both low and high sounds come off crystal clear. These speakers, combined with a Sound Blaster Audigy provide an incredible sound experience rivaling high end audio systems costing hundreds more. In other words, I would recommend these speakers.

I purchased these speakers for my dad as a Father's Day gift. After I gave him the gift, I then had to put everything together: The quick connect guide included with the set made the installation easy! I had everything connected w/i 5 minutes.

My Dad wanted to play one of his favorite CDs to break in the speakers. After we popped in the CD and pressed play, the sound was eye-popping! My jaw dropped and I listened with excitement. The bass had the whole room shaking wall to wall. The highs are crystal clear too.

I'm sure there are other speakers that you could buy that cost over $100 and could do the job better. But for the $99 I spent for this set, I believe that I purchased the best buy.
