One of the best that you can ever have...for now.
There is nothing better than this video card except for the new GeForce 6800 Ultra, Radeon X800 Pro, and Radeon X800XT. This card beats the Radeon 9800 Pro and it even beats the new GeForce FX 5950. My very close friend works in the CyberPower Inc. so I have whole bunch of computer stuff and I get new video cards about every two to three months. I have tried many video cards and I have to say this card beats it all. It beat all cards (except for the three cards mentioned on the top) on 3D marks and frames per seconds on games like FarCry, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Call of Duty. There is nothing that can go wrong with this card. Believe me, I might not know everything about video cards but I know what I know. Only problem that I have with this card is the price. It's about $450 on Amazon.com but the new Radeon X800 Pro will be also $450 and there is no point of buying Radeon 9800XT unless you think that the new Radeon X800 Pro will perform worse than the Radeon 9800XT. If you do think that, then you really deserve a slap because Radeon X800 Pro will beat Radeon 9800XT in everything that you can think of. Wait until this card drops its' price or if you are looking forward to pay $450 then buy the new Radeon X800 Pro. You can even pay $50 more to buy the new Radeon X800XT or GeForce 6800 Ultra. I highly recommend this card when it's like $350.

only thing better will be PCI-Express
I bought this card to replace a Gforce 4200ti which I loved. This card didn't run smoothly at first because It sucks so much power. I had to up the voltage to my cpu, ram etc. Now it runs perfectly. Hit 6500 on 3dmark and 47k on aquamark. with a pentium 2.6c and 1gig of golden dragon pc3500.

Can't compare it with the geforce but i'm thinking those other guys didn't configure their system properly.

9800 XT Rocks!!!
I just upgraded from the 9800 Pro to the 9800 XT and what a difference. Enough to make me replay "FarCry" to get more "eye candy"!!! And you also get a coupon for "Half Life 2"!!!
My only complaint is that I have to wait until next week when "Painkiller" is out!!!

Excellent choice in its price class
I bought this card and have been testing it for a week. I can play all games at (1024x768) with full details with AA and AF enabled with no problems.

Yes, its bigger brothers outperform this card, yet this card is worth half (less than half in some cases) what they cost.

If you want to play your games nice but dont feel like spending 400-500 USD, this card is for you.

btw, the package offered from MSI also includes some real nice bonuses!

high performance
this graphic chip provides cuper high performance and u may enjoy the game

Impressive video card for such a low price!
This is a great product from MSI, not only has the VIVO (the ability to import and export video) ability but has the impressive FX5900XT chip from Nvidia.
MSI has certainly delivered a card that has given the mainstream market what it was asking for, a graphics solution that offers all the features of the flagship cards and much of the performance, but at a price point that is much more attractive to the wallet.

    Can't complain
The Radeon 9800 is the card to get if you want high-end game performance, but don't want to spend $400-$500 on the latest and the greatest. At stock speeds, this card will run just a hair slower than a 9700 Pro in most games, until you get to DirectX 9 games, in which the 9800 pulls ahead a bit.

Overclockers can often get this card up to 9800 Pro speeds, but for me the slight performance gain in most games wasn't worth the risk of frying a $250 card.

Judging from my experience with this card, I'd say it is probably not worth it if you're already running an ATI 9500 or 9600 series card, or the equivalent. Also not worth it if you're still only playing older games, like Quake 3. But for me, coming from even a Geforce 4 Ti, the performance difference in newer games was absolutely amazing.

About the only downside to this card is the noise from the fan. If you run a quiet PC, this thing will most likely end up being the loudest thing in your case. Not significantly louder, but it definitely lets you know that it's there. I got annoyed enough that I ended up replacing the fan with a Zalman heatsink. Highly recommended.

    FAST FAST FAST
This card runs same as Radeon 9700PRO the beauty of non-PRO is
    1.CHEPER
    2.CAN run @ PRO version

replaced a gf4 ti 4200 and is almost 10x better than that card
my friend's got a gf fx 5900 ultra which i got to try..and he came here, tried the 9800 pro...and he liked the 9800 better
dont miss this...GREAT card, does great things
dono if you wanna upgrade if you've got the 9700..but this is definitley the best card out there atm imo

    Good card for dual monitors.
I don't do any gaming, so I can't speak for how well this card works for that. However, looking around the internet for reviews of this card, it was really tough to tell whether it was going to do what I needed it to do. So hopefully this review will help someone else who is as confused as I was.

I bought this card to be able to use two monitors on an older Mac G4 (the newer ones come with that capability) running OS 9.2.2. The card was unbelievably easy to install (run the software/drivers installation on the CD first!), even for someone who had never done anything inside the computer before.

Once the installation was complete, I just plugged in both monitors and turned the computer on, and BAM it worked like a charm. It did exactly what I needed it to (and was VERY easy to maneuver -- I switched which monitor was on the left and which was on the right with no problems at all).

Highly recommended if this is what you're looking to do!

    Great Card for Mac
This is very good price for low badged card.
If you play games once a week this card is for you. But if you play more than once per week get the Rodeon 8500 much better perfomance.
Other than that this card has exelent 2D and 3D quality, very crisp and sharp colors. ATI always was making better quality from Nivida especially in 2D.
Get this card you will not be sorry.
PS. no problems with instaling or drivers.

Save money on Adobe Premiere Pro, Encore DVD, Audition
If you are using Windows XP, why pay over $600 for Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0 when you can get all three full versions of Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0, Adobe Encore DVD 1.0, and Adobe Audition 1.0 for much less than $600? This Pyro Professional API-750 package includes all three software packages (with manuals). There is also a Pyro PCI firewire card included. A nice bargain if you want all three Adobe software packages.

          Best for price
I couldn't beat the price when I bought it. It runs great in high resoultions compared to the 64MB version. The included fan doesn't make any noticable noise and it runs very stable. I would recommend this product.

          The best of the best.
This card will give you unbelivable frame rates in games. It Also gives very nice renderings of the scenery. I am a Flight Sim 2004 player, and got this to go with a somewhat super computer...

          Asus A7N8X
          120Gb Hard Drive
          DVD burner

This thing is unbelivable, What ever you do you shouldn't have a bottle neck procesor, mother board, or RAM, as this will decrease preformance. If you have the money and other good components I highly recomend it!

            Very good card
I bought this card to replace my ndivia Gforce MX in my Dell 4550 2.53Ghz XP Pro. First, I made sure that I had the correct AGP driver, then uninstall the old driver, shut down, installed the new card and installed ATI driver from the CD (I didn't download). Everything went very smoothly! The ATI 9600 handled the Microsoft FS2002 extremely well with all the efffects turned to maximum; no jitters what so ever. I'm not a hardcore gamer therefore I couldn't say about other games, but I'm very happy with the results I got. I also like the silent cooling :-) and DVI connection.

Easy to Install - Wonderful Results
I am no computer techie, but I do know how to do some things inside a computer. On a scale of 1 to 10 for ease of installation, I give this card a solid 9. The instructions were easy to follow and I had no problems.

I bought the card so that some of the games I have would run, either better, or at all. The card produces outstanding graphics, and the improvement was immediately noticeable.

There are less expensive video cards out there, but this one is worth the money!

            Excellent Mid-Range Video card
I just ordered this card for building my younger brother's computer and I've got to say I'm quite suprised with this card. It runs all the new games very well. I only noticed some slight slow down on graphic intensive games. All in all this card runs very stable and its a great choice for a person that is trying to save a little money. The only drawback is that it has a Bios lock on the card making it unable to do an overclock unless you do some research on the internet. But if your doing that then more than likely you are looking for a more expensive card.
I highly recommend this card for any mid range computer. The Geforce equivalents do not even compare.

Does a great job -- but beware of limitations
I think this is an exceptional solution to the problem many of us have with analog video tapes to convert. I originally bought this to use with my older, slower PC -- but I replaced my PC with a screamer (and USB 2.0 and Firewire) before I really got a chance to use this. So I can't tell you how well this box does in compensating for older, slower hard drives and a slower CPU.

However, with the new system, this box appears to my video editing software (Ulead VideoStudio 7) as a DV camera, so it's simple to edit.

The bad news is that all of my video cpature software ASSUMES this is a DV camera, so you get all sorts of spurious information onscreen -- like DV controls, or DV timecodes, etc.

If you are aware of the fact that those controls won't work, or that the timecode is meaningless, this unit works like a charm to capture your analog video, package it as DV and deliver it to your PC with little or no dropped frames and generally rock solid video/audio synch (BTW -- if the audio gets unsynched, the only guaranteed solution I've had is to restart the capture from a clean spot on the videotape -- no snow, no tracking errors).

Not as troublesome as some seem to think
Following my order of the ADVC-100 I found many disturbing things on the internet. Most users had difficulties capturing analog to MPEG2 for burning onto DVD. Don't let yourself be scared off. Fear mongers stating that the converter captures DV files which then have to be converted to MPEG2 aren't using the right interface software. The ADVC-100 is a stand alone external unit without a software suite of its own and relies on whatever captures software you choose. I could just be lucky but both My WinProducer and my Nero Burning software detect the device instantly and allow choices of AVI, DV or MPEG2 format for file capture.

Granted, having an external device may not be as convenient as a VIVO internal card, but compared to other external capture boxes the ADVC-100 is tiny and unobtrusive. Better yet, it's IEEE Firewire compliant as opposed to the 1.0 and 2.0 USB connections that for the most part fall short with frame droppings and miss-synced audio during capture.

If you're looking for a straight forward plug and play unit this is it. Just make sure that you have a capture card with Firewire input capabilities such as the Sound Blaster Audigy series before purchasing this product.

            Plug And Play, Serious!!
I must say this product is exactly as it says. I simply took it out of the package(Which I recieved in less than 24 hours with free shipping from Amazon.com) and plugged in the cables and went with it. It connected to Movie Maker 2 and I was off.
I definitely recomend this to ayone looking to put old vhs movies onto DVD's for safe storage.
