One of the best that you can ever have...for now.
only thing better will be PCI-ExpressCan't compare it with the geforce but i'm thinking those other guys didn't configure their system properly.
9800 XT Rocks!!!My only complaint is that I have to wait until next week when "Painkiller" is out!!!

- GeForce FX5900 XT
- 128MB DDR Memory
- TV-Out/DVI-I/Video-In
- Live VGA BIOS/Driver
- Bundled Valuable Utilities & 3D Games

Excellent choice in its price classYes, its bigger brothers outperform this card, yet this card is worth half (less than half in some cases) what they cost.
If you want to play your games nice but dont feel like spending 400-500 USD, this card is for you.
btw, the package offered from MSI also includes some real nice bonuses!
high performance
Impressive video card for such a low price!MSI has certainly delivered a card that has given the mainstream market what it was asking for, a graphics solution that offers all the features of the flagship cards and much of the performance, but at a price point that is much more attractive to the wallet.

Can't complainOverclockers can often get this card up to 9800 Pro speeds, but for me the slight performance gain in most games wasn't worth the risk of frying a $250 card.
Judging from my experience with this card, I'd say it is probably not worth it if you're already running an ATI 9500 or 9600 series card, or the equivalent. Also not worth it if you're still only playing older games, like Quake 3. But for me, coming from even a Geforce 4 Ti, the performance difference in newer games was absolutely amazing.
About the only downside to this card is the noise from the fan. If you run a quiet PC, this thing will most likely end up being the loudest thing in your case. Not significantly louder, but it definitely lets you know that it's there. I got annoyed enough that I ended up replacing the fan with a Zalman heatsink. Highly recommended.
FAST FAST FAST1.CHEPER
2.CAN run @ PRO version
replaced a gf4 ti 4200 and is almost 10x better than that card
my friend's got a gf fx 5900 ultra which i got to try..and he came here, tried the 9800 pro...and he liked the 9800 better
dont miss this...GREAT card, does great things
dono if you wanna upgrade if you've got the 9700..but this is definitley the best card out there atm imo

- Flexible dual-display support

- Powerful 3D graphics performance

Good card for dual monitors.I bought this card to be able to use two monitors on an older Mac G4 (the newer ones come with that capability) running OS 9.2.2. The card was unbelievably easy to install (run the software/drivers installation on the CD first!), even for someone who had never done anything inside the computer before.
Once the installation was complete, I just plugged in both monitors and turned the computer on, and BAM it worked like a charm. It did exactly what I needed it to (and was VERY easy to maneuver -- I switched which monitor was on the left and which was on the right with no problems at all).
Highly recommended if this is what you're looking to do!
Great Card for MacIf you play games once a week this card is for you. But if you play more than once per week get the Rodeon 8500 much better perfomance.
Other than that this card has exelent 2D and 3D quality, very crisp and sharp colors. ATI always was making better quality from Nivida especially in 2D.
Get this card you will not be sorry.
PS. no problems with instaling or drivers.

The best of the best.X800 Pro
1Gb OCZ PC-3200 RAM
AMD Athlon 3000+ XT
Asus A7N8X
120Gb Hard Drive
DVD burner
This thing is unbelivable, What ever you do you shouldn't have a bottle neck procesor, mother board, or RAM, as this will decrease preformance. If you have the money and other good components I highly recomend it!

Very good card
Easy to Install - Wonderful ResultsI bought the card so that some of the games I have would run, either better, or at all. The card produces outstanding graphics, and the improvement was immediately noticeable.
There are less expensive video cards out there, but this one is worth the money!
Excellent Mid-Range Video cardI highly recommend this card for any mid range computer. The Geforce equivalents do not even compare.

- Convert your S-VHS, Hi8 and 8mm analog tapes to DV in one simple step
- Converted files transferred by FireWire
- Locked audio support

Does a great job -- but beware of limitationsHowever, with the new system, this box appears to my video editing software (Ulead VideoStudio 7) as a DV camera, so it's simple to edit.
The bad news is that all of my video cpature software ASSUMES this is a DV camera, so you get all sorts of spurious information onscreen -- like DV controls, or DV timecodes, etc.
If you are aware of the fact that those controls won't work, or that the timecode is meaningless, this unit works like a charm to capture your analog video, package it as DV and deliver it to your PC with little or no dropped frames and generally rock solid video/audio synch (BTW -- if the audio gets unsynched, the only guaranteed solution I've had is to restart the capture from a clean spot on the videotape -- no snow, no tracking errors).
Not as troublesome as some seem to thinkGranted, having an external device may not be as convenient as a VIVO internal card, but compared to other external capture boxes the ADVC-100 is tiny and unobtrusive. Better yet, it's IEEE Firewire compliant as opposed to the 1.0 and 2.0 USB connections that for the most part fall short with frame droppings and miss-synced audio during capture.
If you're looking for a straight forward plug and play unit this is it. Just make sure that you have a capture card with Firewire input capabilities such as the Sound Blaster Audigy series before purchasing this product.
Plug And Play, Serious!!I definitely recomend this to ayone looking to put old vhs movies onto DVD's for safe storage.
