Not as advertised
The provided software, required to use the camera, kept freezing on my WinXP system. I tried installing the camera on my wife's Mac G4 since it's supposed to be compatible with OSX - it would not work with the software I downloaded from Logitech (no Mac software is provided for Mac on in the included CD). I tried the alternate QuickCam software for Windows on Logitech's website (no explanation on differences between this and what is provided on the CD). Instructions on use of the camera and software are pathetic. The program help covers many models besides the one purchased and have to read through to find out how 'your' model functions. The 'hood' on the camera is flimsy and kept falling off. I was able to get an image using Windows built-in camera software - image was okay in ambient room lighting, but is poor in low light. I emailed Logitech about the software problem and answer in 2 days was to uninstall and reinstall which I had already done without success. I did not get a clear explanation of the differences between the two types of software provided other than QuickCam would not work with instand messaging services. I was not able to use this camera for any of the reasons I bought it and I returned it to Amazon.

Not an Optical Zoom
Warning: This product has fixed optics. Although you can "Zoom In" from a window in Net Meeting, all it does is blow up the image. As a result, you can not get fine resolution with Zoomed-In images. I feel this is border-line misrepresentation of a product because the box indicates that the camera module itself is a zoom camera. If you don't want zoom, it's a fine camera.

Micro-Innovations is a poor product
This camera works ok in windows 2000 but does not work at all with XP. I feel ripped off and will never buy a Micro Innovations product ever again.

product does not work with Windows XP
Another lousy camera. Does not work with XP. Read a similar review, posted by someone else for the camera IC100C by the same company.
The product box is misleading, says its compatible with XP, but the user manual inside does not include XP in the list of compatible OS. The installation software does not work with Windows XP.
The customer service is also very poor. I called 2 times, each time I was asked to leave a message. No one called me back. I returned the camera, I had bought it from Office Max. I think I will go with a Logitech product.

Looks nice, but doesn't work well.
I had the unfortunate chance to use this camera whilst staying with a friend. The quality is poor, grainy, and though it tracks well, the picture is inconsistant. The software may as well have been written by a five year old for all the good it works with XP. I liked the look, but even with all the lights turned directly in your face the picture quality is poor at best. Spend your money on something better, this product is definately a waste of hard earned cash.

AVOID THIS PRODUCT!
This is the worst webcam ever. If you really hate someone and you need to buy a gift for them, then buy this cam, because it will provide hours and hours of torture to anyone who tries to install it (WARNING: This cam can potentially terminate friendships, cause severe headache and anger fits, as well as put you at risk of attempting suicide). First thing you have to figure out when you buy this cam is that the drivers shipped with it are bad. So you have to go to the website and download "updated" drivers. Which I suspect are obviously designed to be some type of advanced torture device. The first drivers didn't work at all (which was frustrating enough), the "new" drivers seem to do just about the same thing. Except with the "new" driver you might actually get it working, as we were able to. However, once the cam did "work" it didn't do a very good job of it. There was a lot of skipping around, the color was horrible, and broadcasting the cam image over the web was a joke. You are apparently supposed to be able to take picture with this thing too. Well, as of yet, this does not seem to work. And support is horrible. Go to their website and it seems as though this company tries very hard to make sure you can't figure out how to contact them. Oh sure they have a fill in form for support, and there is some "Frequently Asked Questions", but none of it will help you. If you are into hours and hours of torment, buy this cam. I'm sure that by the time you are through, you will need anger management, and the cam will end up in your trash can. In short, it's JABONEY.

be careful...bad support
I just bought this product and having a nightmare in installing it right. The software that comes with the product does not work with XP. The tech support is non existent...the web site gives some guidelines, but it is of no help. I am waiting for a day more before I send it back.

Bad!!!
This web cam makes annoying chirpy sound when in use, my wife hates it. Thats not all the drivers provided for this don't work for reinstall, I gave up after I accidentally installed chinese version of the software and then I couldn't install the English version of it (it did install, but never worked). I'm using it only as a web cam now, the rest of the features I've trashed.

I wouldn't even give it 1 Star, 0 stars would be better said
yeah, I bought this camera thinking that it was great, for the first week that is. The backup battery only works if it has 90% power. If there's less it doesn't work. My camera doesn't read my CF card. Sometimes it does, but when I turn off the camera, it forgets the CF Card was even in there. Also, the internal memory will sometimes say it's full; but when you go to see if there's pics the camera says there's no pics. The camera was a joke from the start. I have wasted money trying to get this thing to work.

    stay away
It is a piece of crap. I have not been able to take one photo on it yet. The only thing that has worked on it is the lcd screen. Stay away.

Nice bargain price but, you'll pay for it later...
For starters, Do not buy this or any cheap digital Camera. Spend at least 200 for a good camera. You'll get what you pay for.

Here's the story: I had a friend visit from another country, and I snapped many shots. Not only did the quality stink, but, The battery power drains very quickly(using NIMH batteries, which last longer than alkaline.) The camera functions are so slow, that if you accidently press the wrong sequence of buttons while waiting for camera to load properly, you lose the entire storage of pictures. I was fuming mad to see my storage disappear with the error "No Photos."

Also, the LCD display is so small, it's almost pointless to use. Word to the wise.... If you've already bought this camera, GET A COMPACTFLASH MEMORY MODULE(64mb or higher.) That's going to run you at least 45Bucks (See, price going up already) But, the benefit of an external memory module is that you can take it out and put it into a Digital Memory reader. Remember: Avoid this camera like the plague. Personally, I'm looking at a Sony or a Nikko camera.(With digital video included)

    not compatible with xp
The box says that it is XP compatible, but apparently they didn't try to install it before making that claim. Take it back to Wal-Mart.

    Horrendous install experience
I don't think this thing would install even with a hammer and chisel. No wonder there are so many "discounted return" boxes on the shelf. Save your sanity, your head, and the wall against which you will bang it. Move on.

    it is absulutely junk
could not install it even after install windows xp drivers , manual is useless , pointless to read ... they put this product when most poeple have xp in their pcs and still they did not mention anything about win xp in their manual....plus it's more expensive than any logitech webcams which you dont have problem in installing them buy a logitech better

    Maybe I'm missing something...
640 x 480, 30fps, 24 bit color. Sounds great! I bought the camera with the idea of using it as a long duration digital camera. (2-6 hour seminars) I didn't expect wonders, but this thing (is not imprssive)!

I finally captured in color using Fire-I software from the web, and then Windows Media Encoder. It still only captures at 7.5fps. Granted, it takes 4 shots of the same frame to make 30fps, but it's still 7.5fps (it just takes up 4 times the space.)Fire-I could capture 640x480, but WME was stuck back at 320x240. The preview seems to be 30fps, but the capture isn't.

The hardware MIGHT be OK, but the software sure isn't. I'd say it borders on false advertising. My search for decent drivers/software to make this work will continue. Without it, this thing is a waste of money.

      Poor quality. Could be better.
I was in the market for a webcam that can clip on my laptop. Well needless to say I am still in the market for one because this was terrible product. Dark pictures were only the start of it. When used as a webcam the fps rate seemed very low and the picture quality was just bad, color saturation and resolution. The included software could've been better too.

You can do better for the price
This camera has relatively low quality. The software bundled with it it nearly useless. I have had nonstop problems with keeping the thing running. Maybe other people have had more luck. At this point I have given up on the mobile camera function entirely.
