Love it but it overheats
4 1/2 stars, not 4.
The picture is GREAT, but it EATS batteries. The main complaint I have is that it really goes through batteries. I kept thinking it wasn't working correctly because I would get about three days worth of life out of batteries (we're talking a total of MAYBE 1 hour viewing time each day) and then my picture would get all fuzzy. I couldn't believe the problem could be in the batteries because I had just replaced them. But, alas, when I changed the batteries, everything worked fine.
I finally broke down and bought rechargeable batteries, and I am much happier now. You should definitely get some if you decide to get this tv.

small
good all-around case
If you use a Keyboard with your Visor, this is THE CASEUnlike the Rhino3000, this case holds all your items securely and safely. The visor is held snug into the case with a unique rubber-holder device. Next to the Visor, it has a wonderful, velcro-closure case to hold your Targus keyboard.
It has other spots for storage as well. And when it zips up, it's very streamline and elegant. It doesn't look like a woman's purse - a plus for a insecure man!!!
This is much, MUCH better than the Rhino 3000, the only large case alternative for people with keyboards that I know of.
A great product.

Grerat product, user interface could be better. Love it.Overall I am very pleased with the unit. I like the fact that it allows some customization. For intance, one can choose which screens are shown (for example some views are not usefull for geochaching).
My biggest complaint is that the SporTrak, like many electronic devices, has a user interface that appears to have been designed by engineers without any "human factors" experts on the team. Its not a really big deal, but if the user interface were logically thought out I'd have given it a 5 rather than a 4.
Particularly since I only use it ocassionally, I find myself frustrated sometimes by the not-very-intuitive steps need to program in new waypoints and selecting a destination.
Very good unit and a very good value.
Nice replacement for the 315Highly recommend this little unit for basic GPS functions.

Good cradle - heavy power supplyHowever, I had hoped I could also use it as a travel charger. It can work that way, but the power supply is heavy and so it is not optimal for that purpose.
Great things come in small packages.I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a cool looking, small sized replacement or spare.
The cradle that should have come with the Tungsten T3

Glad I Upgraded
Excelent option for palm loversI bought this unit recently, and love it. The screen is sharp (screen protector is a must before any use) and colourful. The dual card option (memory stick & CF) is scarse in PalmOS PDAs. I am a pediatrician an use both 1GB CF & 512MB MSPro cards. If you need to store a lot of data for reference or database needs, then NX-73V or NX-80V is for you. The difference: 5MB more (real) RAM and 1.3MP camera for NX80V. But NX73V is comparable in use and has a beautiful black case.
JackFlash is a must to take use of 15MB aditional FlashROM memory available inside the NX73V, so you take many files off RAM (to cards or FlashROM) to make space available.
Hope Palm & others will offer dual card capability in the future for PalmOS, but it would be unlikely.
I like it!I've found myself taking it wherever I'm going (which is the point of a PDA!!!). This never happened before with my older PDA's because they were simply calendars and phonebooks... I enjoy having the camera on me at random times. Taking a little picture of my favorite dish at a restaurant or capturing a great picture of my dog at the park. Those are times you always wished you had brought your digicam but never had it on you!
The DECUMA input sucks... you need to write really neatly and separate e a c h l e t t e r so that it knows what you're talking about. I much prefer Graffiti 2. Graffiti 2 is soooo much cooler than Graffiti 1 that I have been using previously. BUT best of all, this thing has a QWERTY keyboard. I cannot stress how much nicer it is to use the QWERTY. I haven't used the stylus much at all. Most of my inputs are now a process of using my fingertip and then using the keyboard. It REALLY is much faster.
I also enjoy the fact that the thing doesn't have to boot up to get to the digicam or the voice recorder. One click of either button and the unit automatically snaps to the application you are requesting. I am enjoying taking oral notes with the voice record feature when I'm on the go and don't have time to type.
Overall, I'd suggest that you also check out the NX80 due to the better camera. I think I'll buy an NX80 eventually, but right now, for the price, the 73V does exactly what I need without costing TOO much.

Best PDA I've Owned1 Palm OS excells,
2. HP iPaqs are a disaster,and
3. SONY exceeded my expectations.
Unless you need Wi-Fi, it's not worth it.
This is by far the most feature filled unit that is on the market. It's size and features will address just about any need you may have.
Keyboard is comfortable, and bundled software is great to show off the features. You'll be hard pressed to get over the novelty of this wonderful machine. You won't be sorry.
Best PDA out there (not including UX50)Pros:

Cons:

Very nice picture in a small packageThe TFT LCD screen produces a sharp, detailed picture and reception is quite good even before extending the rod antenna. Sound from the small speaker is also clear but you can always use the ear jack (mono sound only). The only reason I knocked off a star is because of battery life. Casio's specs. indicate an estimate battery life of 2 hours (4 AAs); that's close to reality, so the other reviewer's recommendation is dead-on: if you plan on watching this often, buy the AC adaptor accessory (MSRP 19.95). A car adaptor is also available.
If you want a portable television with a great picture (that doesn't induce eye strain), buy this EV-4500. It's a great value.
Keeps Me In The NewsTwo notes: it did not come with a power cord and I used rechargable batteries for several months but it got very tiring to replace the batteries every 2-3 days. So, I recommend you buy the optional wall plug, which I now have too.
Also, the set did have to be returned for repair (the screen died) but they sent me a new one rather quickly. No problems so far with this one (knock wood).
Casio TV EV-4500 is a good buy!
