RIPFLASH PRO 256M AWESOME!I assimilated the device protocol and it kicked my ASS! Yes! The internal amplifier could be a bit more powerful and their could be a bit more memory. But, this device is one of the most intuitive and comprehensive designs I've seen.
NO MOVING PARTS IS A VIRTUE!
The sound quality really took me and my bros for a LOOP. But, forget about the audio playback capabilities of the device...IT RECORDS!!!!!!
IT RECORDS BOTH LINE INPUT AS WELL AS AN INTERNAL MICROPHONE!!!!
I made tests of the line in from other portabe MP3 players and their was not diffence in quality from it's original to clone.
The size of RIPFLASH is 1/3 the depth of a pack of cigarettes and if that wasn't all...It's got a god damm digital FM radio tuner in which you can directly record broadcasts internally. I love this feature. Dication is a breeze with over 20 hours at 32k with the internal microphone. All in All, a great music/sound machine BAR-NONE! I don't know what all the bad reviews are about the operation of this device...Did you graduate HIGH SCHOOL GUYS? Get off your Playstation and learn the real world.
GRADUATE TO RIPFLASH PRO IMMEDIATELY.
Awesome deviceThe software was very intuitive & easy to install and use. The sound quality is excellent also. The lithium ion battery lasts for many hours and can recharge through the USB port of your computer or use optional external charger. The built in FM radio appears to be very high quality and I'm able to get great reception. I've tested the built in recording capabilty and it seems to be very sensitive ...should be good for recording meetings & such. I think the extra memory (256Meg) is well worth having, can playback several hours worth of high quality MP3 or WMA material. The only limitation I can see is that you have a 200 file playlist maximum. Pogo products has toll free number for support, if necessary. I really can't find any negatives.
simply wowThis thing rocks. How can something so small pack so much stuff in it? If I had a complaint it would be that it can do way too many things for me to use! I bought it to record the Howard Stern show and listen to it at night so I can get motivated and exercise (ya, right). At 32 bps, which is enough to hear a talk show, it can record almost 20 hours. Now that's awesome.
It is plenty loud and holds enough songs (almost 80 at 128 bps)to satisfy my needs. I know these new ipods can store a gazillion songs on them but I don't need all my songs with me. I just need a few. It costs less than half of the iPOD and it's way smaller than it. It has no moving parts. WOW!
The only thing:
Where can you get the travel charger the manual mentions?

Not worth the ink it writes (sometime) with
Stylus falls out - but I'm buying a second one.Second problem: I must have worn it out; it got lose in the visor case. If I turn the visor upside down it falls out now. So, now I'm buying a second over priced stylus pen. This really shouldn't be more than $3 But I can't live without it.
Who cares how good the ink is--it writes!

OMNISKY IS GONE - product useless
Yes it works, but.....The perfect solution is yet to arrive (though it is close). Save your money and wait until their is a CE based PDA with continuous wireless access that also has a phone included and that has coverage all over the US. When that gets here, your investment will pay off.
Nice ProductWith this is mind I decided on the Palm Vx and the Omnisky Wirless. Once received I went ahead with the setup of my account/modem and found it to be very straight forward with no issues. I setup my outisde POP3 email account with no problems.
The performance of the wireless modem is very good, download times are pretty quick. The content of the service is good with plenty of news, weather, sports, and other usefull information. Web site viewing is best with Omnisky content partners. I have not had much luck going out to other web sites but I wasn't expecting a lot in that catergory.
Overall I think this is a great wireless unit and service plan....

Handwriting recognition for the Seiko Smartpad 2However, sadly, I was disappointed. You are not able to import any files using the MS Handwriting Recognition functionality (at least I couldn't figure out how, even after I called MS). So, The way that I tried to do this was:
- Create the file on my PDA (which is a Palm 5 - OS 3.3)
- HotSync with the Smartpad desktop application so that the file was transferred to my PC (my desktop OS is Windows XP)
- I then saved the file as one of the two available formats (either .bmp or .gif - no other options are available).
- I then had to open the file in either MS Paint or MS Photo Editor and resave it as a .tif file so that MS Document Imaging could read it (MS Doc Imaging only opens .tif files).
- I then ran the "Recognize Text Using OCR" function (sometimes it failed when it couldn't recognize the text)
- Finally, I selected the "Send Text to Word" function.
The result was very, disappointing. No matter how neatly I wrote, it never got any of the text right. I even tried typing in Word using the comic sans font, saving the text as a picture, and repeating the above process. The result was the same.
When I called Microsoft, the tech support person said that he knew of no way to do this. This is contrary to some of the reviews I have read by purchasers of the product, including one review on Amazon.
...
Good but only for Palm devises
SmartPad2 and H/P JournadaSmartPad2 allows me to scribble away using what feels just like pen and paper, then save those notes to computer files rather then ending up with a big unorganized pile of handwritten notes.
Something else to consider. I called tech support once, to verify if the SmartPad2 would work with my Jornada. I was switched to a tech immediately without being placed on hold. I was so shocked at this that I almost fell lout of my chair!

Sure it's got panache, but not much else...This one looks good, but doens't have much else going for it.
It' good but...If you can live with the difficulty of removing it from the case, I think it worth getting.

The worst mistake I've ever made
Outstanding HandheldFirst, the e330 is small, thin, and ultra light. It has the same form-factor as the e310, but with some noteworthy enhancements. Most notably, the e330 has the new 300MHz XScale Processor from Intel. Although the individual programs don't seem much affected by the increased speed, when you're using multiple programs, you can really tell a difference in performance. The e330 also has 64MB of RAM, giving you more room for programs, games, files, etc. The scroll-wheel on the upper left-hand side of the unit makes flipping through web pages and eBooks a one-handed affair. Last, but certainly not least, the e330 has the MediaQ video chip. This not only makes on-screen animation less jerky, but also makes writing on the screen appear without a lag.
I highly recommend the e330 Pocket PC from Toshiba. Five stars without question.
A great buy for a great price - Love this Pocket PCMy Toshiba Pocket PC e330 has the latest Intel XScale processor running at 300MHz with 64MB of RAM, Pocket PC 2002 OS and the familiar tools like Word, Excel, Outlook and Media Player. The device also has a built-in Secure Digital (SD) media slot for additional storage space. I've used my SD card to backup my PDA as well as a holding place for my MP3. The built in Media Player makes this a great portable MP3 player.
This PDA is fast and I typically amaze people by playing full-screen video on the beautiful color screen. And the best part of the device is its incredibly thin profile and lightweight. It easily fits in your pocket and it just a great device. I highly recommend this PDA for anyone looking for an entry level device Pocket PC device as the price keeps on dropping.

This product is great, how did I ever live without it???
Great easy to use productIt can store the image from both sides of the card and the english text from one side.
I find it easy to use and very useful. Mostly i dont bother to verify the cards as there is almost always enough data stored correctly.
Why only 4 stars
I would like easier ways to select which contacts to transfer into other programs (I scan everything since its so easy but i dont need a lot of the data on a daily basis so i dont want to transfer everything) and easier ways to split and merge databases by batch selection. It has these facilities but its too hard !
As someone who lives and travels in Asia many of my cards have the local language details on the back. You can scan the back you cant print it. Give a printed copy to a cab driver is an easy way to get to where i want to go when i cant speak the language.
Finally the copy and paste is fiddly.
But i use it every day and i have all my cards going back 7 years accessible by a simple text search.
Get those Business Cards under controlI've used it for over 6 months and love it. Installation was easy - follow the instructions - install software - plug in the USB cable. The scanner is very fast and very accurate. I normally don't have to make any corrections to the scanning results. Cards with very unusual fonts or layouts sometimes need correction. The included software works flawlessly with ACT! or outlook. Another cool feature is the link to the Cardscan.net site. This allows you to back-up/store and access your business card file on online. It is also very easy to use. Again I have found this to be a lifesaver for handling business cards and with many months of use I have had no problems.
