ALL Treo data lost - avoid this product
Good inexpensive traveling option for Treo family
Hot Sync button is on the cordUnlike the one reviewers comment there is (at least now) a light grey hotsync button on the Treo connector.
Not much more to say, it is as advertised, works great, packs small, and allows charging and sync operations without the AC adapter having to tag along. About the only way to improve this would be to make it cheaper or package some free software with it (like a Mac OS X program to talk over the USB port to the Treo in "modem" mode;great for debugging treo programs; great for using the treo as a modem for the laptop).

works wellHIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great ValueThe file mover application is very easy to use. It's especially nice, because you can back up your address book, and memo's, to do lists, and all that. You can set the length of the vibration from anywhere to 1 second all the way up to one minute. THe vibrating works nicely. And in both mine, and my friends experiences, it is definately not noisy. Actually, it is one of the least noisy vibrations I've heard. It's quiet enough that I can let it go of in my American Lit. Class, when everyone is reading, and have no one hear it. When it's on a desk, that's a different story, though. It is powerful enough to notice in a coat pocket, or the cargo pocket of your pair of pants.
Overall, I gave this product a five. It did exactly what it is supposed to do. It stores 2 megs worth of applications, and it vibrates. Plus, it does it all without affecting your battery life. For the price, it's definately an addon worth buying.

Attractive But Cumbersome
Good thing it's metalWhat I do not like about the case is the belt clip with screw-in post. With the repeated motion of sitting and standing throughout the day, the screw-in post has a tendency to loosen itself from the case. Three times since I purchased it in June the iPAQ has fallen off the clip. One fall sending the iPAQ in an armored ride down half a flight of stairs. Another fall causing the SD card residing in the slot to be lost (but that's a different review). No significant damage has occurred...yet.
For the most part it is a good design, but how much protection does a case provide if it is causing the falls that it is supposed to be protecting against. I recommend not using the clip, but if you do, make sure you habitually check the tightness of the post. I suppose you could permanently affix the post, but then you will not be able to lay the iPAQ flat unless you take it out of the case. Decisions, decisions...
Good case, but beware the belt clipDon't trust the belt clip, it fell off the first day I used it, even after I heard the snap that confirms that it is in securely. Ended up bending the case so that i have to unbend it everytime I want to open it. Now I have to ship it back, which of course means I lose the money for shipping. I'll probably invest in a different case since I don't see the point of a metal case if it gets ruined once it falls off.

brunton sherpa atmospheric data center (blue)
Best in ClassMy buying decision was based on the altimeter function (as I do live in Brasil, I need metric units), as there is no other competitor, even analog, with similar product. This is lightweight, very adequate for outdoor. But I consider that the precision for elevation is not very good. 1% in a 1,300 meter peak means 13 meters, wich makes some difference, but is acceptable.
What is not very good is the calibration of the elevation, as the setup is very slow and has to be frequent.
The barometer is excelent, as you can record the history, but maybe it was interesting to the same function for the elevation or temperature.
Overall, it worths the expensive price asked.
Sherpa: Brilliant tool for the weather buffAlthough not necessarily connected to weather, one of the features I like best is the altimeter function. I recently took a trip to the mountains and it was very interesting to see how high I was and I kept my eye on it to see how fast we were rising or descending.
It was also very interesting to follow how the barometric pressure was changing, which is why I bought this unit. It records changes in the pressure over a period of time, showing the barometer menu, it's quite obvious if the pressure has been falling or rising. One thing, I never realized is how the barometric pressure is directly connected to elevation.
The Sherpa can also read temperature, which I find pretty helpful when I want to know what the temperature is. As well, the Sherpa's wind gauge is very interesting. I can hold the Sherpa up to the wind and see how strong its blowing. The wind gauge records the current wind speed, average speed as well as the highest gust. If your using the wind gauge, the Sherpa also automatically calculates the windchill, since it shows the wind speed and temperature. This has been a good feature for determining just how cold it really is.
All in all, I give the sherpa a good rating. It does what it says it will do, it is easy to use and to understand. For anyone interested in weather, it really enhanced my knowledge about my surroundings.

Sounds great BUT...
it's the best out there, but ...Also, it doesn't work when your PDA has gone into sleep mode, requiring you to stop in your tracks, turn it back on, futz with the stylus, and then operate the MiniJam controls if you want to adjust the volume, skip a track, etc. The MiniJam is really nice to work out or just walk around with, but it sure needs a helluva upgrade.
Best MP3 player for the Visor HandheldAlways carry spare batteries with you, or opt to purchase Innogear's MiniJam Power Pak. The earphones that came with the unit totally sucked, as one of the ear buds did not work straight out of the box. Buy a "real" set of earphones/headphones.
I had no problems with software issues. Plays great all the time! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone with a Handspring Visor, although I could not give it 5 stars, as Innogear gave me an insight.....they will come out with their new version of the MiniJam, which will be smaller.

Help me Anthony!!!On the other had, the keyboard is the lightest, most comapct i have ever had. The metal case gives a secure feeling and when unfolded it is almost the same width as the letters section on a regular keyboard.
What I'm saying is, if I can get this keyboard to work, we will grow old together, but if I can't, it's going back.
Also works with other models: Zire 71, etcOn the whole it's not perfect, but reasonable at the price.
pretty neat

Defective
Bleh - wouldn't buy anotherComes in a simple blister pack like any supermarket papermate, so the only instructions available would have to be on the back. Yet all that's there is some (...) message on cleaning a PDA. As if the PDA manufacturer's instructions wouldn't cover this...
So far, I've had no luck on figuring this pen out. It works pretty much like a bic, but instead on getting a ballpoint pen, you get one of four tips - a red pen, a black pen, a stylus, or a pencil. So far, it seems pretty random. I've tried twisting the cap, pressing at angles, twisting the base. No luck at all. There are little icons just below the cap every quarter turn that seem to suggest the cap needs to be turned, yet that doesn't work.
So off I went to (...). Sure enough, they continue their boneheaded lecture online with directions not to scratch your PDA, how to clean your PDA properly, and even their opinion on applying RainX to your PDA (GEEZ) but unfortunately they omit anything related to instructions on their /own/ products.
Bleh. Other negatives --- cheap tin feel, red pen has funky flourescent tint and requires a very heavy hand - far too heavy for me to bother using, pencil lead advance binds mechanically.
Four functions, does none of them very well with the possible exception of the black ink pen. Pass.
Where'd these other two glowing reviews come from? I don't work for this PDA Panache company if you couldn't tell...
Excellent Pen, Sharp looking.

This is a terrible product!
Not quite what I expected.
I LOVE IT
I purchased this from Micro Center a couple of months ago, used it for the first time today.
It seemed to fit all the particulars, as it would provide charging power through the USB connection, which is a better
system that what the handspring USB hotsync cable provides.
The original handspring cable requires you to lug the original charger around.
I plugged this into the USB port on my PC (a Pentium III
running Linux).
The charging indicator on my handspring did not light up,
so I reasoned that it should be plugged into my USB Hub
(which has external power).
After I plugged the handspring in, I was rewarded by a hard
reset of my handspring, which caused ALL data to be lost.
My theory is that something drained the battery, or shorted some
pins together on the Treo. In any event, no accessory which
causes data loss will ever receive a positive rating from me.
