Cutting your own screen protector
I've been using screen protectors from Palm (now PalmOne) and other brands for a long time. I bought a T3 and my surprise, when I got the screen protector pack was the need to cut myself the protector. Or you have a precise use of scissors or your work will look bad in your palm. I'm not happy, but right now for T3 people have no options.

Otherwise I would prefer (even paying extra bucks) a pre-cutted protectors.

Protect your investment!
The newer, brighter screens on the Tungstens and Zire 71 are also softer. They scratch easily. My Tungsten T3 was showing marks on the common areas of the screen within a few weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't get these from the very beginning. At least now it wont get any worse.

A little difficult to apply, but if you carefully apply one edge first and slowly roll it on while smoothing with the included cloth, you can get it on perfectly. It will make the screen slightly less bright and can look poorly when the palm is off, but when the palm is on they are unnoticeable. Believe me. As the owner of at least 8 different Palm models, this is an excellent investment in your $300+ Palm. Get em!

Great! Easy to use and keeps my Zire 71 looking new.
The protectors are easy to use- just follow the lines and cut to fit your Palm. It can be a little bit tricky getting all of the bubbles out.

Nice Tool!
The Palm V has been a terrific tool for keeping names, addresses, phone numbers, appointments and other information I need to keep with me. I like the way it fits into my pocket, but would like a thin protective case that's not bulky. I disagree with the comment about visibility in low light. It's not easy to view. Even in normal lighting conditions, I find myself shifting it around to find the right angle where it's visible without a lot of reflection. Still, overall, it's pretty great.

Best handheld ever
I've tried a few organizers previously, including the Visor and this is the best so far. However, even this device has its drawbacks. For starters, the screen can be hard to read, the backlighting does not help except in total darkness. The applications could do with some improvements, Visor has improved calendar and to do lists. I miss those. Visor also has faster syncing, believe me you'll appreciate it when you are syncing 8MB of data. Those are my gripes. Apart from that, this is the most practical organizer ever, I can carry it everywhere with me. The form factor is great and it does whatever I needs it to do.

PALM V CONVENIENCE
I PERSONALLY THINK THAT HAVING A PALM V IS LIKE HAVING CONVENIENCE.IT VERY SMALL AND ABLE TO FIT IN YOUR POCKETS.I AM STILL WAITING TO GET ONE ,IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT I WILL BUY.THE ONLY OTHER DRAWBACK I HAVE IS THE MEMORY IS TOO SMALL 2MEG. FOR THE MONEY.PALM VX HAS MORE MEMORY BUT EXPENSIVE. I THINK I WANT TO SPEND ABOUT $200.00,HOPE IT'S NOT A LONG WAIT. EWART.CALIFONIA

    Crapy item
the only difference betwwen this and the one they come with is that its heavier and uglyer

    VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!

    The reviews here convinced me
I am so glad the reviewers wrote about this stylus. I ordered it at the same time I ordered my Palm IIIxe. It's an excellent replacement for the very lightweight sytlus supplied. I join with the others in recommending it heartily.

I realized today, using the sytlus for about an hour working on the Palm, that eventually I will also want one that is the size of a regular pen. Gripping the thin stylus got quite uncomfortable after long use. But for regular use, this replacement stylus is still easier to use than the original.

    Must-have for your palm
Esp. for Palm users with large hands. I purchased a Palm IIIxe recently. The single fault of the IIIxe is the dinky stylus which comes from the factory. Spend the few extra $$ and get this stylus. The extra heft and weight are a must-have. Plus it still fits in the stylus-holster located on the back of the Palm. Simply toss the factory stylus in the trash and put this stylus in its place.

Portable and effective, could use some improvement.
There are a few annoying things with this unit. It doesn't always connect when it should, but resetting the Jornada makes the connection work. It certainly isn't as fast as I would like, average speed of 14.4.
All in all, the portability and functionality makes this a great buy. If you have the bluetooth kit and a pocket PC, this is a must have; at least until the next level improved modem comes along!

    Relatively, it's very easy
As far as getting this card to work with my PDA, this card was certainly the easiest. I also bought an AmbiCom BT2000 card, and with that card I couldn't get my PDA to connect to my phone. It was very nice, just didn't work with my PDA well. After that experience, this took me 10 minutes.

Important added bonus - this is the least obnoxious card out there. It's so small that it does not stick out of the slot, which prevents it from being seen and/or damaged. Blinking lights on your card are overrated!

    This works like a charm!
I'm using an Audiovox Maestro with the Socket card + an Ericsson T68 cell phone. I don't know what the complaints are about, it works like a charm. I keep the phone in my pocket and web-browse using my PDA, or I can synch them wirelessly. Setup was a complete breeze, the current Socket software for handhelds walks you through the process. I can't imagine this being any easier, and I'm shocked by the other comments. Maybe their beta software sucked, but the release versions are wizard-driven and simple.

For $59 I expect more than a coiled cord
Price gouging at it's finest. This is a simple 12V plug with a resistor to step the voltage down to 5V and an appropriate sized plug on the other end. Asking $59 for this is absolutely outrageous. Yes it's a handy thing to have. Yes, I'd recommend you have a way to charge your iPaq in the car. No, I don't recommend this.

Take this same $59 to Radio Shack and buy a 12V 100 amp inverter. This device plugs into your cigarette lighter and provides a normal AC plug (like your house) and will let you use ANY small electrical device without buying a collection of cigarette lighter adapters.

    Handy Gadget for any iPAQ
Ever been stuck in rush hour? Travel for a living in your car? Maximize your time and re-charge your iPAQ in your car!

I found this gadget to be perfect for those rush hour jams (or when traffic comes to a full stop!) to play games, do email, review documents, etc.

Granted you shouldn't be using your iPAQ and driving.... but if you want to spend your time in the car re-charging your device or if you travel for a living, this one is a must have.

There are times when I forget to connect my iPAQ at work. All day long it's being used and not charging. I just plug it in on the way home and presto....it's charged! I do the same for my morning commute.

Just leave this gadget in your glove box and it's ready to go the next day!

    We all love commuting
Ever been in the car on the way to work or home, and your batteries only have enought power to shutdown; and you just need to get one last e-mail through to the office on your power hungry modem. Well the auto adapter. Puts your fears at rest. Even if you didn't get a chance to re-charge your i-paq the night before, you are now able to do it during the drive to work.

    Where's the power cord?
Being able to synchronize the iPAQ at the office is incredibly convenient. The device installs easily into Windows 2000. However, where's the power cord? It would really be nice if the device could get recharged at the office, too. If you use just the iPAQ, it's probably not that big of a deal, but with additional accessories installed [modem, wireless LAN connection, etc.] the power starts to drain. Just a thought.

    The more, the merrier!
Having an extra cradle/charger is very useful if your like me and would like to sync up at both home and work. The cradle itself is excellent. Although the Jornada 545 also has a USB connection, it is not nearly as fast as the iPaq's (makes me question whether the HP's connection is -really- USB).

    Useful
A second iPAQ cradle is great for syncing up at work--that is--if you have a Windows 98 system. Unfortunately, many people have Windows NT at work, which only supports serial, not USB. There is hope however, as Windows2000 provides native support for USB ports.

The iPAQ hot sync cradle one-ups the Palm world by not even needing to press the button on the cradle to start the process. You just plop it in the cradle and off it goes.

One advantage to USB is that it is about 6 times faster than serial. The fastest serial is 115,000 kpbs, but USB is 690,000 bps.

      writes best when it works!
I just received this stylus yeterday, (july 11, 2001). The stylus was great. It was very easy and also very fun to use. Then the next day I woke up and found out it was also very easy to break. When I took of the cap I had the stylus end selected. For no reason I gave it a little twist on the end, thinking nothing would happen. I was wrong! The Stylus part lost a lot of its spring back and was almost useless because it would always jam. I thought to my self, "well I am sure I can just brake into this puppy and fix it", that was a bigger mistake. When I tried that I just made it even worse and the whole stylus trio was gone. The stylus was a great tool and worked out great unfortunately it wasn't idiot proof. I recommend this stylus to anyone who needs the trio action to help them, but be careful and don't play around with it!

      Great, but with some flaws
This multifunction stylus is a great unit, dont get me wrong, carrying around three sticks in your pocket can get quite uncomfortable at times. But I do have some gripes about this unit. The grip on it really isnt a grip, and I found that it slipped out of my hands sometimes till I bought a little foam grip to slip over the black portion of the barrel, costing less than a quarter. And the ink on the barrel can rub off, but by the time it does you memorize which way to hold the pen to get your desired function. And sometimes I find that my lead is broken when I try to use the pen, like it gets broken if you leave lead in the barrel. Aside from the gripes, the weight is GREAT for this pen. It sure doesnt feel light and plastic-y like the stylus on my M105. The orange tip makes it great for visiblity especially with screen protectors. The snap function is also great, easy to use, and the pen and pencil functions work well most of the time.
Overall, A great starter unit, and it is built to last.

All PDA's should ship with this stylus!!!
I have had mine since Jan 2000 and it has been nearly trouble free. None of the problems with pencil that the previous reviewer had. The rubber grip on mine is just starting to show a little wear, but it doesn't effect my use of it. Since this is the only pen that I carry, it has held up extremely well.

The ball point pen is one of the best that I have used. No skipping or ink dots, just smooth, consistant writing.

Another thing that I realy like is that the stylus tip seems to be made of a harder material than many others, such as the Cross. This became an issue when I began using the WriteRight screen protectors. The Cross stylus was being ground down and leaving residue on the protector, which has a slightly course texture, and was very difficult to write fast with. The Panache tip felt like I was writing with a regular pen on paper and did not rub of or wear as the Cross stylus did.

Overall, this is a great tool. There are three marking at the top of the pen: an orange dot, a black dot and a 0.5. You lean the pen to the side with the dot of the tip you would like to use facing up, press the top, and you get the tip you want. The stylus tip is bright orange, so there is no mistaking it for the pen or pencil. It really blows people away when they see you writing on paper in ink, then you switch over to the Palm with just a click.

      DO NOT BUY this one
I have been waiting for this product for almost 3 months (it was supposed to have been shipped within 1 or 2 weeks)

This is what you want for your PDA
If you own a Pocket PC and are in the market for an Ethernet card, this is the type you want. Yes, you can use the PC Card from your laptop, but it probably has another type of connector with a dongle that connects to the card. Fine for a wired laptop that sits in one place while you are connected.

A Pocket PC, on the other hand (pun intended) will be moving around as you move your hands around, move around in your seat, etc. This puts stress on the connection that the PC Card designers never imagined.

Like the Pretec Modem, this CF lan card will survive your daily use much better than cards designed for PCs.

Works great with the Zaurus SL 5500
Just plugged it in, ran the simple Internet setup program that is bundled with Zaurus, and I'm working great.

      Great for Teens
Personally I'm strapped for cash but I really wanted to get an electronic organizer for my schedule and assignments. I didn't have hundreds of dollars to blow on something I figured I'd use for awhile and get sick of so I decided to try this out. It works great for what I use it for. With it I can prioritize my assignments in a list, have a long schedule so I can plan things with my friends on the spot, keep phone book (there are 2 listings: personal nad business), and type memos to myself. It's the perfect size and the colors are cool. I love the password feature. I also like to write and the memo feature works great for typing in any story ideas that may occur. The only down side is there's no internet with it, but that doesn't really matter because most PDAs with internet have to be hooked up to the computer anyways, unless you get a wireless one and those aren't in my price range.

I'd recommend this to people who are just looking for something basic. I find it incredibly easy to use and it's small enough to fit in my pocket to carry with me wherever I go. I think something like this is becoming a must have for any high school student. It's affordable, in style, and does what it's been made to do. I'm certainly going to keep it until I get a better job that pays more and I can afford something really high tech.

      easy
This organizer is easy to use. I love all it's features. The bright colors are noticeable and fashionable. It's so convienet to just tap the screen with your pen and have your comand answered so easily. I dont think It is flawless though, the instructions can be un clear i dont know where the button is to get my passward to work is and to turn the sound on and off is. Other than that i think this is an ideal and great organizer. It's kid freindly. ...

      It Does The Job
The Royal Extreme Organizer does the job... Adresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses are at your finger tips in the "Phone" section. Basic appointments appear in the "Scheduler" section along with the mandatory "To-Do" list.

Believe it or not, this little organizer comes with "Soft-Sync" software that allows sychronization of the organizer with PDA software on your desktop, and it's included in the price.

On the down side, the screen is small and the included games are lame..

      Does not have XP link!!!
Purchased this to replace Wizard that does not offer PC link with XP-pro. This one does not ALSO. I spoke to Sharp and they say it is not compatable with the "new" software. Number keys are small. Still a good value for the $.

      Solid organizer
This is a solid organizer for the money. It includes a PC backup cable (serial port only, sorry USB people.)

One thing that is not mentioned in the manual or on the Sharp website but that caused me days of headaches is that you must have either zero or more than one entry before you try and link with a PC. I entered one phone number as a test and then spent 2 days trying to figure out why the organizer and PC wouldn't talk to each other. Then I reset the organizer and it worked. Entered one phone entry again and it stopped working. Then I entered a second phone entry and it started working again. This was very frustrating should have been documented. I tested on three different YO-270 units from different stores and all exhibited this behavior.

The backup cable is cleverly named so because the included software will only allow you to dump a backup file on your PC. With the included software, you can not synchronize with PC apps or even perform data entry on your PC. This was beginning to annoy me until I found this website:...

This "PC Interface Software" listed here is what is included with the unit. The "PC Link Software" is NOT included with the unit, but you can download it from here and it works fine for me... The "PC Link Software" makes data entry a whole lot easier. There are also Import and Export functions in the software that may allow some rudimentary synchronization with other PC software, but I have not tested that functionality.

All in all, a solid organizer and it would deserve five stars if the problem I mentioned was documented and if the "PC Link Software" was included with the unit.
