Typa Typa, Typa...
The iConcepts Portable Keyboard has a tiny form factor for easy storage, but opens up to a near full size keyboard, with excellent tactile response to the keys, but wish it felt a little more like a real keyboard like the offering from Targus. It also works everytime and there are no batteries needed!(It also drains very little power from your PocketPC). The iConcepts Portable Keyboard is a very compact 70-key keyboard. They can be hard to get used to because of the different feel, and the keys are much smaller. The depth of the keyboard is also compressed down which can cause some problems for people with large hands. The only problem I have found with it is that you needed a flat surface to place it on in order to use it -- you could not set it on your lap or it may fold in the middle.

When folded for travel, the unit is not much bigger than your PDA and it is also very light. This unit was made for the mobile professional.

This is great if you are a fast typer and don't want to lug a notebook to meetings or need to type up a quick memo or email.
I myself found this product extremely useful due the fact that I can type much faster than write or hunt and peck on the digital keyboard. The great thing about this product from the other keyboard products that are out there, like the thumb keyboard in that it has CTRL and ALT keys among others that are used while typing.

If you plan to do alot of data entry whether it be notes, contacts, word documents, email, or navigating excel spreadsheets on your Jornada, I highly recommend this product and the USB HotSync and Charger from Sakar International for your Jornada.

A Clear Cut Case
This case would have garnered 5 stars if it weren't for two things:

I would really like a holster for extra batteries.

I dislike brand logos and the large embroidered "Incipio" on the front is too blatant for my personal tastes. If it were a patch I would have removed it but it is sewn in and unfortunately there to stay.

The main features I was looking for in a case were style, a case that would fit my m100 but have enough room to stuff incidental papers in, and some level of protection. This case has everything I wanted.

I love the variety of fabrics and colors that Incipio offers. This particular color and fabric is subtle enough to not look juvenile but stylish enough to not be stuffy.

While I am pleased that transferring my messy paper organizer to a PDA device has cut down on the amount of clutter in my life, I still use it as the basis for many of my everyday activities. Since I always have my organizer with me, I keep everything I don't want to misplace in the case with it. It was imperative that I find a case for my m100 that was large enough to hold those papers I might need, like prescriptions, tickets, a calling card, a picture of my dog. This case is the perfect size to fit in a small purse, yet still hold my messy life. The zip around closure ensures that nothing worms its way out into the black abyss of my purse, never to be found again.

Although the case is made of fabric, it's rigid, which keeps my m100 protected as it jostles in my brief case when I run for a train, or drops on the ground as I cradle the phone on one shoulder, hold a notepad on my knee, and look up a number on the palm. The m100 is a relatively sturdy little electronic device, and the addition of this case makes it almost Fisher Price indestructible. Perfect for the frazzled, rushed, disorganized type.

From reading other reviews, I gather people don't like Velcro. This case does use Velcro to hold the PDA in place, but it's very secure and I see no problem with it.

Nice, but make sure you get what you ordered
This carrying case would have gotten a better review if it was the one I thought that I had ordered. I was assuming that when you order a carrying case for a pocket pc (mine is the Jornada 548), that you would receive the case for the pocket pc. Instead, I got a case that is probably well designed for a handspring visor, as the instructions on attaching the PDA were for the visor, and there doesn't seem to be a good way to get the HP attached.

.... The pockets are handy for smaller items, credit cards, ID's, or money, and I have even carried the case convieniently in my pocket.

The moral here is to make sure you receive the correct version.

Exelent case for my palm
This is a great case, my new palm m500 fits perfectly in it (i also tried with a m105 handheld and it also fits), i didnt give it a five star because it only have one clear pocket (perfect for an id) but i would like it to have two regular pockets (no transparent clear ones), the color is great and all the parts looks well assembled (it also have a lifetime warranty about it), here says that is water resistant but i prefer not to try it out. The botton line is that this is a great case for a very afordable price, you better buy it before it runs out!.

Simple secure case
I bought this after my 2nd plastic cover broke off my Palm Pilot - in order to protect it in my purse. It serves the purpose, but is a little fatter than I would have preferred. The zipper was quite difficult to use at first but has now loosened up. Overall, it's a pretty good item for the price.

Writing about a Reader
If you'd still like proof that the average human mind doesn't think in any manner resembling a computer's processor chip (even those computers we love that help us "think different!"), attempt to comprehend the challenge in how a computer "reads" a sheet of paper.

You and I read an article in the newspaper, skip over to a eye-catching advertisement, pull out our wallets and exchange business cards, and all the time, we have learned to scan the item of interest, pick out those words that are important, discard the rest as unnecessary, and go about our busy lives.

But not a computer. A computer lives for those details. And those same details can mire a processor down.

Which in a way is why the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software engine used by ReadIRIS Pro 9.0 is a delight to work with. The people behind the software have helped to link the scanned data into basic patterns and formats ever so much more useful to the daily lives of the user (me, in this case!)

I initially looked into this review by getting my hands on the Business Card Reader (BCR) device, in this version, roman number II, so that I might make my life easier by managing the growing pile of business cards that I collect, and have collected over the past decade, and expect to continue to collect well into the future.

There is something wonderful indeed about business cards, especially in how succinct the summary of a person's relevance. But I digress away from attempting to deal with this growing pile of cards.

Card files don't seem to work for me. But I have enjoyed manually inputting some of my more frequent contacts into Address Books (both Apple's version and Microsoft's Entourage version.) So it seemed an obvious step to begin to input the business cards using a Business Card Reader!

I will warn you -- skip the software that comes "standard" with the current Business Card Reader II. An upgrade is promised, but in the meantime, consider using another ReadIRIS product -- Pro 9.0 (in my case, I tried the corporate edition).

ReadIRIS Pro is a joy to work with. The install was smooth and easy. The software engine (with all files and reference information) installed in less than 80 megabytes. I thought that quite good, especially with how the software promised to handle so many different fonts and language styles.

I tested the software with both a Hewlett Packard scanner and the BCR device. Switching between the two was very quick. I can see how the OCR software could pay for itself due to some of the vast amount of reference materials still unconverted to digital format (the software outputs in text, rich-text, html and pdf formats). Keep in mind however to put aside some time to proof your new documents against the old. If you have a set of material which needs OCR review, one of ReadIRIS Pro 9.0's benefit's shines -- the work you do to input corrections into a dictionary format can help similar documents in basic recognition of font and language skill.

In order to get back to my original project of dealing with my card piles, I was able to get cards read into Entourage's address book in an average of 3 minutes per card. I'm not too quick at typing, but I might have entered them only slightly faster just by doing it all manually. But -- I haven't done this over time. And, I was sort of mesmerized by watching the scanner process my business card stack. That is the fast part. The other portion of the three minute average was spent looking over the scanned data (automatically exported from ReadIRIS Pro 9.0 into Entourage) and "proofing". I was very impressed by the quantity of correct data, even with "pretty" photograph enhanced business cards.

My business card organization project will be ongoing. But now I have a much better tool set.

I definitely recommend the Iris Business Card Reader, but I also recommend contacting the company to see when the enclosed version of software is upgraded, since I didn't benefit from the full corporate version of the software at the listed price.

Nexicam for IPaq's
The NexiCam was a great solution to my digital camera problems since it worked directly with my Pocket PC... previously my old digital camera used a different type of memory than my IPaq Pocket PC, so transferring images between camera, PC and Pocket PC was alot more timely than I wanted.
The NexiCam works great, has more features than my old Kodak digicam, is very simple to setup and I am happy to be rid of the old memory cards. I love the built in Compact Flash memory slot, zoom feature and configurable self-timer.
One major downside I found was lack of good user documentation. The manual is Adobe based and very basic, you really need to experiment on your own to see the full potential of what you can do with the NexiCam (although that is alot of fun too!)

Great Case
This is a great Palm case for us that have our whole lives in their Palm. It is nice looking, easy to use and there is ample storage for credit cards and business cards. Only downside is that it is designed as a wallet and I don't use my palm case as a wallet !

Strength and compatiblity
We often buy more than 2 stylus pens for our pda so far. But, we don't have to do any more with this PDA Panache Deluxe Stylus pen which is compatible with stylus holders of Palm m100 series. It's strong enough to use as long as the palm and the design is also cool!!! It cost a little bit higher than the regular stylus pen but you can save the same money because you don't have to buy again as it's not broken at all unless you don't lose it. However, I hope to say that there's real stylus pen for palm series now with stroung body and perfect capatatiblity.

Using, abusing and appreciating my PDA Skin
I got a PDA Skin because it seemed like a good way to consolidate my various tools including a PDA and a cell phone. I work in a challenging engineering environment where I am often in the field at night working on remote tasks. The only problem(?) is that I now have an extra empty pocket where my wallet use to reside. I have had this PDA Skin for over 6 months and have really found it very helpful and intuitive to use. It is well designed and constructed and is really worth the investment.
