Too high for velcro....
Dooney & Bourke Palm V Portfolio Case (All-Weather Leather Black)

I think it's not a good idea to use velcro for this kind of products. Velcro Lifetime...Too expenisive for this. It's time to get a new solution.... D&B are able to develop a great new one...Their products seems to be good... I love other cases I see from them... Products looks very nice. MPT.

Portfolio Power
The Dooney & Bourke Portfilio is very useful in my line of work. I am a philanthropist. I need something small, efficient and effective. I can keep abreast of my appointments, and be able to joint down notes without the threat of loosing papers because they came apart from its binding. Although the portfolio comes with a pen that slips out, I have replaced it with a Cross pen that does not.

Only one on the market
The only planner made specifically for the Cassiopeia I could find on the market.

Although I would have rathered a slightly larger planner, it is great for pocket size items. If you carry around a journal and Cassiopeia, this is a good all in one solution.

Nice.
Perfect fit. Plenty of room for planner stuff, credit cards, and the pen/stylus I bought.

Only 3 negatives:
1. With the PDA and all the planner stuff, it ends up very thick and barely zips shut (good thing it has a heavy-duty zipper).
2. The PDA is secured behind a leather protector and held in place by elastic bands. On the bottom, in order to leave room for the USB connector slot, one of the elastic bands covers up the AC adapter port. You can get it in there, but it takes some effort.

3. The planner is "pocket" sized. Franklin-Covey (the manufacturer) makes very few accessories, and it seems everyone else (DayTimer, etc.) make none. One thing I liked about my old planner was the checkbook insert.

So, if those things won't bother you, I highly recommend this product to carry your Cassiopedia in.

    Stands up great to abuse
I bought this product for my Handspring Visor Prism, and the sturdy case holds my PDA securely with the Velcro patch. I was skeptical at first about the Velcro, but luckily not disappointed.
The interior pocket is useful to hold my stylus, since the case does not include a loop holder (which is why I did not give this product 5 stars).
The best quality of this case is its durability. I've hooked a carabiner to the zipper loop and worn my PDA hooked to my jeans belt loops, thereby exposing it to the elements. My PDA, while protected by the case, has been sat on, stepped on, dropped, left on a wet countertop by a friend, and run through the sprinklers. This product has done a great job, and a year and a half later, still going strong.

This is one of my favorites for my iPaq 3650
It's sturdy and provides good protection. It will hold the iPaq with an expasion pack which is why I bought it. It has a sleeve to put expansion cards but it is such a tight fit anyway with just the iPaq, putting items in the sleeve pocket might damage the screen. It would have been nice though to have a place for an extra stylus or pen. But overall it compares well to the iSuit (my favorite) for Pocket PC.

A must for use with MiniMusic NotePad
I love this synth, the sounds have a DX7 quality. One star off because the headphone jack seems a bit fragile.

The module offers 128 General midi sounds and a drum map on channel 10(cool!).

The module works perfectly with MiniMusic's NotePad and BeatPad compatibility is on the way, can't wait.

    Recommended.

    great enhancement to notepad
This is an incredible enhancement to the NotePad music application. I use NotePad to compose and play tunes on my Visor, but have been limited to the lame built-in sounds. This module not only improves the overall quality of the sound far beyond what is built into the Visor, but you can pick among 128 instrument sounds. The headphone jack allows me to use it on airplanes without bothering the people around me. Quality module well worth the money. One star off because BeatPlus support never responded to my e-mail.

Nice case, but shows wear fairly quickly...
I purchased this case when I purchased my green handspring. That was 1 1/2 months ago. The case is very pleasing to hold, feels good in your hand, and provides adequate protection to the all-important screen. But it shows any and all spots that might come to it, be it just the natural oils from your hands, or the lovely gooeys that 2 year olds can plop on it. Being of a nubuck suede, it is quite hard to clean without making the spot worse. Additionally, it does not provide any protection for the corners of the handspring on the side where the snap is. I am currently searching for a good looking zipper case.

Excellent case for Visor and makes it easier to hold
I have had a Visor for about 2 months now. I spend most of the time reading news and such on my Visor when taking the bus to school. After getting the case, I found that it actually makes Visor easier to hold when you read. Visor is still too small to feel comfortable after a long period of use. Especially for someone like me that has sweaty hands, it just doesn't feel right after a while. Besides, the case is also easy to clean and nice looking!

    I sent it back
Perhaps it's my monitor, but when this case arrived the leather was much lighter than it appeared on the screen. I'd call it a light camel color. I don't think it was just the color, but I thought it looked a little, well... better suited for a woman. My wife even said it looked like a purse. I don't really consider myself a "macho" guy, but it certainly wasn't the right case for me.

The post closure is a nice touch and adds character. But, as a practical matter, the post does stand up fairly high and I wondered about getting jabbed by it when carrying it in a pocket.

Other than these minor complaints, the case appears to be well assembled of quality leather, and held the Visor securely when I tried it. This case would be fine if you want a light tan leather, with a unique closure (and you don't carry it in your pocket).

I decided to order the distressed leather model to try to get a darker color. It comes with a snap closure which may be safer anyway. The cognac bridle leather might be even better yet, but it is $10.00 more and probably not worth the difference.

If all else fails, there's always black.

Style, Comfort and Protection for your VISOR
I can't think of a better case for your VISOR handheld! This is a small, durable, leather case that gives you added protection for your VISOR while giving it some style too. The rustic look of this case offsets the more hi-tech look of my graphite VISOR. The leather is beautiful and looks even better with contiuned use. There is a place to store an extra stylus (or small pencil/pen) in the spine of the case and there is a very valuable pocket to store business cards, credit cards, or paper. I find keeping my primary stylus in the case's spine gives me eaiser access. I keep a spare in the slot on the VISOR itself. The pocket makes turning the case into a wallet a viable option.

One really nice thing about the case is that there's a slight layer of padding built into it that really protects the VISOR from being beat up in a backpack, briefcase or just with daily use. Don't worry though, the padding doesn't make this a bulky case. Stand alone the VISOR is about 3/4" thick. In the case it measures about 1". The peg closure is a nice touch and adds to the overall rustic feel. When you first get it the strap is really tight and hard to pull off the peg, but the leather soon gives a bit and makes for easy opening, but never sacrificing a secure closure. I've never found my my case mysteriously open. The stitching on the outside is very strong and after 6 months of daily use, still hasn't frayed.

I think the most important thing to realize about this case is is the way the VISOR is attached to it. With a Palm you have to stick a piece of velcro on the back of your PDA and attach it to the other piece of velcro on the case to keep it in there. This gives you a fuzzy square of fabric that can't be removed from your PDA,can be very unattractive and annoying. I've even heard of Plams falling out of cases because the velcro didn't grab good enough. All this has has been expertly solved by the makers of this case! When you recieve your VISOR it comes with a hard plastic cover for the screen that can be attached to the back of the PDA when it's in use. With this case, that pastic cover is bound onto the back inside flap of the case so all you have to do is snap your VISOR into it! This makes a very secure fit and it's impossible for the VISOR to fall out. To releae the VISOR all you do is snap it out again. No more having to deal with annoying velcro on the back of your PDA. What's even better about this feature is it gives you some extra protection for the back of your VISOR! As far as I know this "snap in" feature is standard on all cases for the VISOR. The only drawback it this feature is it blocks the springboard slot. So if you want to attach the camera, MP3 player, or any ohter module that sticks out from the top of the VISOR, you'll have no choice but to keep your VISOR out of it's case. But any module that lies flush with the VISOR will have no problem.

I said it in the beginning and I'll say it again; I can't think of a better case for your VISOR. The outdoorsy, old era/new era combo really works for me. This is a marvelous case that protects your VISOR, looks stylish and is very functional! You can't be without one!

    a very nice case overall
If you're thinking about a Handspring case, get it now while they're on sale and have free shipping.

I've had mine for just five days, and so far it's doing a good job of protecting my Visor Deluxe -- but I do have some concerns about it too.

What I like best about the Tan Natural Calf Skin case is that it uses a slip tab closure (not snap like it says above). First of all, you don't have to press down on the Visor when you close the case, you just slide the tab in. Second, it's more attractive than Velcro. The best thing about it is that you can adjust how tight/loose the case is when closed. You can pack more papers/credit cards in the inside pocket and not worry that it will press down on your Visor screen. While it's easy to insert the tab, it's also secure.

The leather isn't soft at all. It's not great to touch (I was a little disappointed at first), but it makes the case more sturdy -- better protection for the PDA.

I am a bit worried about the plastic holder that attaches the Visor to the case. Because it's sewn under a layer of leather, it doesn't grasp the Visor as well as my original plastic cover/holder.. Lightly bouncing the case on a table can cause the Visor to separate from the holder... sometimes. It hasn't caused a real problem yet and I would think that this is an issue with all Handspring cases. (btw, the color of the plastic holder is black).

Lastly, the color on the pic above is off. The real case is a lighter tan and a bit more yellowish (less red) than what I see on my screen. It's still an attractive tan, but I prefer the picture.

    Cool Case
Cool case for your Handspring product. I got one and never been with out it since, girlfriend is after one with diamonds on it

    LIke it
I needed a low cost PDA/phone for my high school freshman son (who loses things a lot) and this did the trick.

    Stellar-But Buy the Warranty
I think I have had one of every Handspring product except the Treo 270 at this point. Color was not a big need. I purchased my first 180 in Feb 02, and picked up the extended warranty. I was very glad that I did.

The Treo has everything that I could want in a unified form factor. My Calendar/Phone/AddressBook/Work Files are all included in the one machine. Now that I have the Targus Universal Keyboard, this thing is practically self-sufficient. Despite the marvelous features and form factor, reliability has been an issue with me, and many others apparently. Check the comments at TreoCentral.com regarding periodic problems.

After I purchased the extended warranty, the sent me a new Treo within the first 90 days (in basic warranty). Since I need the phone constantly, the new Treo is sent with a return box for 29.00. After 90 days, the story changes unless you have Extended warranty. They have replaced my Treo 5 or 6 times since I bought it, and speed/courtesy are part of the warranty. The product is not perfect, but their quick and courteous treatment of the extended warranty provisions is excellent.

I am waiting for the Treo 600, which is hinted to be the perfect PDA/Phone. But I will buy the Extended Warranty.

attractive, tasteful case with only a few drawbacks
i'm quite pleased with the look & texture of this case... i'm not sure i can relate to the previous review concerning material & friction. This case is no larger than the leather slip case that comes with the visor. Inside, the visor clips in very securely (there is actually one of those hard plastic covers sewn into the case) and there is a single side-slot on the opposite side, inset enough to easily insert a scratchpad without it hanging outside of the case. One of my concerns is putting something is the upgrade slot; if you attach the hard plastic cover to the back of your visor, you will see how the top covers the expansion slot. i was thinking about putting an mp3 player in there, but now i'm not so sure with the way this case fits. One other concern; even though the case is rather sturdy, you will still push on the screen a tad bit when you snap the cover closed (i can hear the little click if i snap it closed with the visor on). also, there is the remote chance of the visor getting turned on while in the case, but i'm not too worried about that - it does take a bit of pressure to turn it on through the case. all in all, this really is a nice case. i'm sure you will be pleased if you get it. oh - and let me commend amazon's delivery (no, i don't work for them or own amazon stock...). regular ground shipping made it from kentucky to maryland is 2 days.

    Distressed Wilderness Case
The Distressed Wilderness Case is quite stylish and functional. It is small enough to fit in most bags and purses, offering easy access to my Visor. Two problems with the case arise, one with me and one with the case. At first, my graffitti skills were sub-par. Jotting down a quick note or phone number while someone was waiting proved tedious. I found that I needed a pad of paper to make a quick note at times, then transfer the information later. Now, this is less necessary, but I like the paper option found in another case. The second issue is the texture of the Nubuck creates, drag or friction, when placed in very small microfiber bags, for travel or weekend use. I will probably transfer back to the Wilderness Case and find a pad that fits into the card slot. As for the for the friction issue, I found that the Visor works smoothly in small microfiber bags with the visor case alone, without a carry case. The case I am currently using is soft enough that the Visor accidently gets turned on. Although they offer programs to lock the Visor, the point is quick access. The Nubuck case is stiff enough that the Visor didn't accidently turn on. When I first got it and heard about programs to stop accidental "turn on", I thought it was ridiculous, but it does happen and batteries must be replaced more often as a result.

      Better Directions Please!
I was ready to return this item because the cover would not stay up when I opened it. This made the Jornada worthless when it had the cover on. I decided to try it one last time, before I put the item back into the box to return it, and I noticed that if I pressed the connections between the Jornada and the cover when the cover was opened it locked into the open position. After a number of manuals locks the cover settled (I guess) into the connection slots and would lock open when I flipped the cover up. One would think that a company like HP might find it useful to their customers to include this information on how to make their product useful, but they didn't. I don't think it's worth the price, but without a third party option HP can (and will) get what they can.

      Cool!
I own three different covers for my Jornada 548 and several faceplates for my Nokia cell phone. I love the fact that I can change the color of my pda depending on my mood that day. I guess that I just have a little too much time on my hands, but who cares? The covers are easily attached by sliding onto the top of the Jornada and pushing in at the holes. The cover stays up and has a slot for the stylus. It is also useful to use outside as a shade for the Jornada so you can see the screen a little easier.
