Mako
If the case did not fit the organizer, I would think Amazon sent me the wrong product. It seems to consist of two pieces of vinyl-covered cardboard held together with a strip of Grade Z elastic. I would judge it contains about 75 cents worth of material. It does not appear that the organizer is protected around the edges, only on the front and back. This is a $5 product, not a $20 one.

A Decent Mako Case
This case is a minimalist padded slip case held together by elastic material. While expensive for what it is, it is sufficient if your goal is only to protect the Mako from damage.

On the plus side:

1. The case adds little to the size of the Mako, yet it prevents scratches, and should prevent excessive shock if the Mako were dropped on a hard surface.

2. The case is designed to provide access to the charging port, even when the Mako is in the case.

3. It is also designed so that you can hear the Mako's alarms even when the Mako is in the case.

On the negative side:

1. It holds nothing else but the Mako. No cards, no money, no license ... no nothing (and that is a shame).

2. It leaves one edge of the Mako exposed, possibly permitting damage should it land on that edge when dropped.

3. The small rubber feet on the Mako get rubbed each time the Mako is inserted into and removed from the case. I haven't personally experienced it, but others have apparently had the feet wear to the point where the Mako does not adhere well to a hard surface when you are typing on the keyboard.

4. The price is a bit steep for what amounts to a padded slip case.

What I think of the Diamond Mako Case
While I am not sure if it is real leather or not I have to say the material used is of exelent quality and the case feels sturdy and long lasting. It is basically 2 rigid halfs with elestic the two halves together. It is perfectly molded to the shape or the Mako or any Psion Revo (Plus). And because of the way the elastic is connected slightly inside the case lip, it has a *bumper guard* around the entire unit. While I try not to drop it, it looks like it would protect the PDA. While I found it too tight and bigger than what I was used to in my pocket. I adjusted and so did the case. It takes a week or two for it to streach and feel more natural when inserting or removing my Mako. The only major problem I have with this case is the lack of a belt strap/clip. While it would have added to the thickness of this low profile case. It would have made a nice removable option. Still, bottom line, if you just want something to protect your Mako/Revo from the elements or getting dropped and still be able to stick it in your jacket or pocket. I reccomend this case.

Absolutely Horrible
This is supposed to be a wireless device that let's you serf the web, when in actuality it is nothing more than a pager. You send web inquirys, and it sends back a reply, then you have to send another... get the point. An absolute worthless device, with the limitation of 100,000 characters a month you run into the maximum rather quickly. If you have a cell phone just get a cable to connect it to a modem and your off. It's cheeper...

Works Great
This springboard module is pretty good, but you've got to check which paging service your specific module will work with. For instance, since I own a Skytel module I am only able to use Skytel service. That means you can't price shop for service at all. You are limited to whichever company your module is preprogrammed for. Hopefully this is some useful information if your considering buying one. It only costs about [money]/month for email service on your PDA which is a pretty good deal, considering I can use my email service pretty much where ever I like.

Great for what it's designed for
Works great. Haven't owned any other messaging modules so can't compare them. This does exactly what it says it will do.

Doesn't work with the IPAQ 3835 Series
This is advertised as one of the accessories when you look at the main Amazon page for the IPAQ 3835, but you have to read the details to see it's only for the 3650. Bought it and then had to return it because of this, I'm sure it works fine for the 3650 though.

Works great
I've been using the USB cradle for about a year now, and never had any problems with it. One thing I did notice is when there is an expansion pack being used, sliding it into the cradle to connect can be difficult at times. I do recommend having two cradles if you use your Compaq at home and at work.

Works great! Wonderful design!
I really like the fact that this cradle is also a stand. I like the angle at which it holds the iPaq, which is conducive to looking at the "Today" screen easily - at a glance - when it is sitting on my desk next to my computer. I also like that the power cable is removable, so that I can use it even if I am not using the cradle, and the way that the cables fit under the base is very nice, making it easy to ensure that the cradle sits flat. Unlike the USB cable - sans cradle - that I had with an earlier iPaq, I have never had a single problem with the cradle, or either of its cables. Unlike one of the other reviewers, I have never had any problems with the fit of the device into the cradle, either; I think the cradle's guide, which fits where the power cable attaches to the iPaq when the cradle is not in use, helps ensure that the device is inserted correctly. I have found the cradle, also, to be very rugged; I usually toss it im my bag with all my other junk and take it to work with me. It doesn't require any "care and feeding".

Do not buy this steaming pile of hippo excrement.
This product sucks. I bought it a few weeks ago and it ran out of batteries after two days, and, as another reviewer said, the batteries are expensive. And the pen runs out of ink quickly.

I would reccommend jumping in a pool of rabid, starved pirrhanas then purchase this disgrace to human intelligence.

Laser Pointer
Of course the best feauture is that it 4 things combined.

Plusses:

1.No problem with any of the individual items, the laser works fine, nice light, good pen and good pinter...
2. Stylish, nice to show off with.

Minusses:

1. Uses a lot of expensive batteries
2. The pen tends to dissassemble itself when carried loose in a bag...batteries then fall out etc..

All in all...let's call it a real good gadget for the gadget lovers.

Awesome Tool!!!
After reading some of the other reviews for this product, I am a little dissapointed at the complaints about battery life. The biggest problem I noticed was the buttons on this pen have a tendency to get pressed in your pocket. If the buttons are getting pushed while in your pocket, it is easy to understand why the batteries don't last too long. Once you figure out how to carry it around without inadvertantly pushing the buttons, you will find the batteries last alot longer.

The replacement batteries are a little expensive if you get them from your local Radio Shack. It takes 4 LR41 batteries at $3.29 a piece!!! Luckily, with a little effort these batteries can be found for sale on the internet much cheaper. I actually ordered 100 of these batteries on the internet for 29 cents a piece, and shipping was included.

The biggest problem I've faced is finding ink refills. I have been unable to find the belkin refills locally, and ordering pen refills online is expensive due to shipping unless you order in bulk. There are other refills available at your local office supply store, but all I have seen are 3-packs with 3 different colors for $3.00.

Overall, this is a great pen and overall tool! I am an auxiliary operator at a nuclear power plant, and this pen is awesome. The stylus is very useful for taking readings throughout the plant on my PDA, and I use the laser often for pointing out equipment issues to other people/workgroups, and also for training new operators. I would recommend this pen for anyone who has a need for a pen and stylus or laser pointer.

Stay away from this miserable software
Palm's US travel card bottoms the pile of plain and simple useless software products- how can a company that caters to the professional dare to publish this type of useless 16MB travel info- there is nothing good to be said about this product and Palm even charges a hefty price: Instead use the internet and the many excllent trip helpers and city guides that are availabe on line for free.

Doesn't replace a guide book
I bought this as a "Special Holiday Package" from Palm.com, with my Palm 505 and a travel charger. I was very disappointed when I started to explore the software. I plan to go to Amsterdam next spring, and have been looking at guidebooks for Amsterdam. I thought it would be nice to have a map and guidebook on the Palm, and not have to carry a guidebook.

The main map screen shows "sections" of the city, labeled by neighborhood names. The neighborhood names seem to be made up by CitySync. There appear to be more neighborhoods off to the left of the screen that I can see part of, but I can't get to them (no scroll that I could find). Clicking on each "section" brings up a map of a small section of the city (Amsterdam, for example). Maybe it just shows major streets, or maybe it shows a really small part of the "section", but it doesn't look like the map "section" covers as much area as it should. It looks like there are large gaps in the maps.

There is no way you could use this "map" in place of a good paper map.

The information about each hotel, restaurant, etc. is very short, and it looks like the prices are a few years old (that may be updatable on the CitySync site). I finally found the link to the mapping of each hotel, restaurant, etc. (it's in the "Info" button, and you can't get back from the map to where you were in the listings), but the map segments are so small it is impossible to tell which area of the city the attraction is in.

I did like the currency converter, although you have to enter your own currencies and conversion rates. Once you've entered these (through the maintenance screen) all you have to do is enter the amount you want to convert from, select the currency you want to convert from and to, and click "convert" (or "execute"?).

The time programs looked like they would be kind of nice - you can enter an event using your time zone, and it can keep track of what the time is in a second time zone. I just stuck my plane's departure and arrival times in it.

While putting a travel guide onto a PDA is a nice idea, this one won't replace a paper travel guide.

However, if they improved the maps, letting you scroll around them, the guide just might serve in place of the paper travel guide if you've read the guide and just need your memory jogged about a particular site, hotel, restaurant, etc. The way the maps are set up now, you couldn't find your way from one location to the other because there's no connection from one map to the other.

Personally, until they do that, I wouldn't spend the money on it.

Oh, and buying the color Palm for this was a waste - there's no color in the program - except for the icon to get into it!

I don't need this!
I am not one to get new "gagets" uy wife insisted that I try this since we were going to the pacific rim. I have spent nearly 15 years traveling in the Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney route and thought I new it all.
Well, With this card I was able to find shops, eating establishments that I never new about. Thank you Palm for getting me On track.

The solution for Dell Axim users
I called VEO before ordering this product. I was told that if I receive the Pocket Traveler for Pocket PC and the last three digits of the serial number end in a number lower than 960, it would be too short for the Dell Axim by 2mm. I was instructed to RMA the product I receive and they will ship out the newer model that works.

    great value great fun
I just got the Veo yesterday! The set up was simple and fast, it worked immediately and the user's guide is actually useful! Can't wait to record video footage! Pictures are crisp. I am looking forward to spending time learning all the extras! Great price for the products received

Perfect for my Dell Axim X5.
I bought this camera for my new Dell Axim. I notcied that Dell was promoting it, so I figure I trust Dell. It came in the mail the other day. It is soo cool. It comes with this cool case, it was really easy to install, as well as use. No wonder Dell recomended it-- and now so will I!

    Palm serial adaptor
Be aware this will not work with newer Macs that utilize USB, even though they have an available printer or modem port.

    Good Choice
I had recently purchased a serial to USB adapter from another company, which failed miserably. After returning it to the store and losing 7 bucks for "repackaging", I decided to get the Palm one, which I am glad that I did. My first adapter btw, cost almost double that I got here at Amazon. Installation and set up were a snap. I would however make the disclaimer DELETE THE PALM SOFTWARE THAT CAME ON YOUR MAC, there were a couple of glitches that I encountered until I did this. I wiped out all the files from the pre-installed software and ran what came with the adapter. Problem Solved! I guess there was application conflict when the two were set up at the same time. I am not sorry for having made the purchase.

    Works just fine
This adapter is great, it's cheap, and the Mac software is available FREE from palm.com. Unlike the USB to Palm adapter, this device is priced fairly (almost too cheap).

This adapter works perfectly with my PowerBook, I haven't had a problem with it, and you can't beat the price.

To those other people who rated this low: I don't think this adapter deserves a 1 star, just because some people ordered the wrong ones when they really wanted one for a USB based Mac. That's like saying you don't like Toyotas because you tried to buy a part from a Toyota store for your Honda.

    Beware Mac users
I usually download a product manual before buying a product.

Margi claims in the Users's Guide that the desktop software works on OSX 10.1 "and greater" (the release notes in the driver say "10.2 and greater"). But it does not work on OSX 10.3 - the software either crashes or renders incorrectly. Every time I ask tech support when 10.3 drivers are coming out, they say "check the web site in a few weeks."

Hello Margi - OSX 10.3 has been out for almost 6 months now - how hard can it be to release an update?

My rating will likely be a lot higher once they REALLY support Macs.

    Plays poorly with Macs
I purchased one of these in January for use in classroom presentations. The image quality is adequate for text, but graphics tend to be a good deal worse than they are with a lap top.

The big problem for me, however, is the same as for other Mac users. If you upgrade to Panther (system 10.3) you start having problems. I'm still able to convert Keynote and PowerPoint presentations into the format that the system uses -- but it's hit and miss.

Customer support on this issue was clueless. Mac users should beware.

    Does not work for me
I have a Palm Zire 71. The connector to the palm seems like very hard to stay on. I have not tried on a real projector yet but I can't get it to display on my monitor.

Keep in mind that the way this works is that it convert your powerpoint files into little images. You transfer it to your palm and then display it. So you won't see powerpoint animations. So even if it works it will only give you limited ability. (What do you expect from a little Palm?)
