Makes it fun to wake up!
My daughter got this for her 6th birthday. It was simple enough that she could quickly learn how to use it. She loved being able to choose the sound that she wanted to wake up to. The only thing I didn't like is that it's a little involved to set the clock and alarm. There is no way I could do it without the instructions even after doing it a couple of times. I am going to get the Buzz Lightyear version for my son.

    Awesome alarm sounds
This is so cool! it has the best wake up alarm ever! I love this clock. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars is because even with the manual the controls are hard to figure out, but with practice it is an awesome clock.

    GE 35810
Although I haven't much experience with 2-way radios, I have found it to be a most satisfactory device. It is very easy to use, and has excellent range. It is also very clear. The only things which might be considered faults are that it is not entirely water-resistent, and tends to act strangely in the cold weather. I found the multitude of functions quite impressive, such as the battery-level indicator and the temperature. The pager is also very handy, as is the ability to lock one's settings. I would definitely recommend this product.

Don't let the price fool you! This is a great radio.
The GE 35810 FRS radio has many features. First, contrary to the information posted on Amazon, this radio uses AA batteries. This is necessary to save money on power. Some radios use AAA batteries and cost a bundle to keep it powered.

The 35810 has all 38 CTCSS tones and they work great! Some radios don't do well on certain tones, but this one does. As an added bonus, there is a temperature display!

Only two minuses kept me from giving it 5 stars. One, the base is not squared to allow it to stand up on its own. Nothing major, but I do like a radio that stands up. Two, it scans channels but not CTCSS tones. Again, nothing major, but a nice feature to have.

Range and sound are very good. CTCSS tones are compatible with Motorola and Radio Shack radios as well as most other FRS radios.

    very limited to terrain
These are rated at up to 2 miles. On testing this product it became clear that these 2 miles would have to be over VERY flat terrain. The terrain I tested them on was quite hilly and the signal was almost completely lost from about a half mile away, regardless of which channel was chosen.

So based on these tests, I can't say I was very satisfied with the product (2.5 stars), although, for the price (and at 462 MHz), I suppose I shouldn't have expected much more. You do get what you pay for.

IT IS SO SMALL AND BEUTIFUL
IT HAS THE ABILITY TO HAVE TWO WAY TRANSACIONS

    It's A Sufficient Clock Radio
For me, I really don't need much in a clock radio. All I need from it is that it will wake me up on time and last a long time. I have owned a similar model of this GE model, but when I moved to college, I bought this model and its about the same as the other one I had. It has that really irritating alarm sound, but it works fine. But the radio tuning is kind of poor, just like my other one. If you are going to buy a clock with radio capability, this product is not for you. Try some other clock/radio.

    Great clock radio
Affordable, and easy-to-use. Has a convenient snooze alarm and sleep timer.Power-failure backup. I liked the easy to read time display.

It is good, but I liked my first GE better
Like the other person, I also bought mine as a replacement. I think that the sound is somewhat muffled and the display is way too bright. The only thing that I would do to change that otherwise fine clock radio is add a dimmer switch. Other than that, it is a great radio. It was well priced, and the dual alarms are a great thing to have. I am a student, so I need one to set for the weekdays and one for the weekends and such. The only thing is that display. It is so bright that you can almost read by it sometimes.

    Excellent Replacement
I recently purchased this item as a replacement for another GE alarm clock I had for 13 years. This model has a great sound, is easy to operate and I love the dual alarm feature. I use the second alarm on weekends or for naps. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a new clock radio or as a replacement.

    This TV saved my butt!
Can't say enough about how handy and convenient this little box is! I was recently transplanted to Georgia...where even a "dusting" of snow makes everyday life grind to a halt. This past winter (99-00), northern Georgia (and much of the rest of the NE coast) got hit by a severe ice-storm. In the suburban Atlanta are where I live, downed power-lines left more than 500,000 homes without power for as long as 3 days! Mine was out for about 36 hrs. My little GPX 5" portable became the focus point of my house for the next day and a half! Loaded up with batteries, it let my son and I keep abreast of how the repairs were going and have tv entertainment in the evening. Now, my son uses it when he wants to sleep out in his backyard tent. Picture was sharp and clear with good contrast and little interference considering that it was receiving on it's internal telescoping antenna. Battery life was surprisingly long...I think we ran it for about 6 1/2 hours all togethter and we didn't run out of juice. And the thing is so lightweight that you can prop it on your tummy in bed and forget that it's there. Very happy with this little unit...and I'd recommend that everyone should have one stashed in a closet "just in case!"

    Pretty Decent Reception
I have one of these at home, and it is a pretty good little TV for the price. I recommend it for secondary uses around the home. And like I said in my title- the reception is pretty nice.

    Has some flaws...
This isn't too bad of a system although I've had some problems with it.The sound is good(although I've heard better) It does have some nice features(I love the rolling front panel and the remote's direct track feature)The CD player performance is usually fine, although sometimes the lens fails to read the disc. I've had some trouble with the cassette players.Sometimes they work fine but sometimes the playback or recording is gurgly sounding(even with just cleaned heads and brand new high quality tapes)Be wary with this one.I think the price is way too high for this system.I have found other MUCH higher quality products for less than that price!!

    Better sound
This unit is a little more expensive than other mini-systems, but the sound is considerably better. It has almost all of the nice features: 3 CD player which can be programmed by track or set for random play. The timer can be used when falling asleep, waking up in the morning, or recording something from the radio in the manner of a VCR. Drawback: switching between CDs is a little noisy, and during random play you will hear this between tracks. Still, I'm very happy with mine.

Get it if you are on a budget
These radios work well and are clear, IF they are not turned up too loud. This brings up the big problem with using them in a noisy enviornment, such as a car. Whenever I use them between cars 90% of the conversation is asking to and repeating the intended transmission. So if you are on budget and plan not to use your radios between cars, get this set. Otherwise I recomend the Motorola 5200 (have not used, but assume it works well), or the Motorola 6200 series (Work great, never have to repeat a thing, tonz of features).
3 stars because it is so darn cheap

    Top notch for the price
These are an incredible price and very clear

    Good, but fragile
First let me say that the T6220 radios I have are outstanding. This review, however, is for the rechargable battery system.
    Firstly; it works and works well. I have owned it for a year or so, and the batteries have performed splendidly. I have a complaint and recomedation for new buyers: The snaps are fragile, and will eventually break. There is a piece that comes with this kit that has the plug on one end (that goes into the wall outlet) and the 'snap' on the other that snaps onto the radio for recharging. This 'snap' piece is quite thin, and if you use the radio with any regularity you will be snapping and unsnapping your radio quite a bit, and it will break. I can only recommend two remedies;
1- Don't lose the piece that breaks off. You can superglue it back on and it will be fine until it breaks again.
2- ALWAYS use the BASE that comes with this kit. What the base is is this: a big thingamijig that is for wall mounting and the like. You only have to snap the fragile snap thing i spoke of earlier into the base once, so you avoid breaking it. It is quite sturdy, but be careful when removing the radio from the base so you don't rip off the battery cover (the base is strong and wont let go of the radio. It attaches to the radio via the battery cover). To remove the radio from the base more easily, wedge a finger between the radio and the base in the area of the battery cover.
Overall, its still good, and it beats buying batteries.

    Great charger
This charger and battery work very well and charge quickly. Much better than using batteries in your radio. Well worth the purchase. If you have two radio, likely you could get along with only one charger and an extra battery.

    Bulky radio with bad range
Compared to other motorla two way radios (Eg. 5 miles range) this is a more bulky and heavier version. The 2 extra mile range are difficult to appreciate...Even that in a city where you expect 3 miles at least for this radio...you don't get it even with full battery charge. I know the price is similar to one of 5 miles but the reception is similar and this equipment is bulkier so better buy a 5 miles range. I know the 7 miles range is under optimal conditions...but it seems to be the dessert without mountains of sand....in the city it works up to two miles.

    Bait & Switch
Product is good, business practice is questionable at best. Though pompously advertised at $84.99, no source would agree to furnish it for less than $95 - most at $99.87.

Quite frankly, I expect more from Amazon. Shame on you.
