I bought the Gear Keeper and love it. It has a strong rewind spring and a nylon coated steel cable and a secure belt clip. I keep my car keys on it and never lose them.

NICE, VERY NICE, GOT TO BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this belt clip is stylish and not complacted to operate it. And is shouldn't have to put it in your pocket at all. Now I have one and its great.before I had to have it in my pocket and it was anoying having to take it out and put it back into my pocket.
Now when you have a large pockets and its flying up down right left in your pocket it can start to hurt after a while but with the clip its not doing that. And its nice with absloulty anoying free so I would go and buy it cause its nice. VERY NICE, ...

Best MP3 player for under $200
Here are my pro's and con's for this unit.

        Pro's:
        - Best MP3 player for under $200.
        - Beautiful faceplate.
        - Customizable displays and colors.
        - Great sound quality, with fully customizable Mhz output levels and preamp levels.

        Con's:
        - Track title doesn't display until 4 seconds after it's played/selected.
        - Even with the Loud On and the Bass turned all the way up it still does not produce enough bass.

        Satellite Radio Rocks
I gave up listening to any of the local radio stations several months ago. I just couldn't sit through another "hog report" on the local news radio station and the NPR news staff is just a bit to the left of Mao Zedong. Music stations seem to have a longer play list of commercials than tunes. Forget FM radio on long trips and even keeping a dozen CDs in the car doesn't provide much variety. I found out that Sirius is offering a lifetime subscription plan - one payment and you get satellite radio for the life of your radio without any monthly charges (offer expires Jan 2004). I bought this Kenwood Sirius Radio, the Kenwood KTC-SR902 Sirius satellite radio tuner, antenna, and had it installed locally. Activation was easy. Since then I've put close to 1000 miles on my car. I'm not sure if I'm past the novelty of it yet but I love satellite radio. Sixty commercial-free music channels, news channels from ABC, Fox, CNN, BBC, ESPN, plus a comedy channel, talk shows, Hispanic programming, stuff for kids ... 100 channels in all. The Kenwood system works fine and has excellent sound quality. The only time I've lost reception was when I stopped for gas and was parked under the station's metal awning. Bridges and overpasses haven't been a problem. It does play CDs and MP3 discs too. On the negative side, I'd gladly give up the useless LED animation in exchange for larger buttons or something more functional. You do have to spend a few minutes with both the radio's manual and the tuner's manual to understand how to access even the basic satellite features. You can compare XM to Sirius for yourself. I liked what Sirius offered and voted with my wallet. More info on Sirius is on their web page. If you can't find a channel you like on Sirius then you don't need a radio.

        Excellent Choice
I have hardly any experience with this type of radio, so I read some reviews and took the plunge...and I am very happy with the Kenwood. The radio can be put in FM or FRS or a combination FM/FRS mode, in which you can listen to FM, but be contacted by someone else. Neither FM nor FRS requires the use of the headphones, but I think the headphones probably improve the communications (and without them, the FM is mono). I thought the in-ear headphones might be a pain, but I prefer them to the conventional type. These are small, attractive radios and the controls make sense, although it is necessary to read the manual. Although I'm sure there are lots of other good radios, this one is an excellent choice.

        Nice, sleek radio
This is probably my tenth radio I have owned (I usually lose them when the snow season is over) Its compact enough that it fits in my jackets poket while im snowboarding. It has very clear sound, I have owned the Motorola radios and this is by far better sounding and the receprion on the mountain isnt 2 miles but its good enough to keep in contact at Heavenly (big resort)

The Fm radio feature is great when I'm on the lifts or sliding down the slopes it totally relaxes me for a better ride. I will be sure not to lose these this year.

        Great little clock radio
I got this from Walmart for only $25. The buttons are very simple and straightforward. I don't need to read the manual to operate it. Sound is not bad. Bass is weak though.

Best CD Clock Radio I Found
Read the other reviews on the other clocks... lot's of complaints.

I have had this for a week and it works great and the controls are simple.

One great feature is the alarm reset. You just hit the button to turn off the alarm without having to reset it again for the next night. It also has a snooze.

Waking up to CD is great (it does play CD-Rs). A minor complain, but it always starts on the first song regardless where you left it the night before.

        Rechargeable battery for Talkabout
These are getting hard to find but they work really well. We have use 280 and 289 batteries for years on the farm. Only trouble is when they are outside in the cold and lose power more quickly. Once warmed up they work well.

Lasts all day on the ski slope!
I charge up the battery in the cabin overnight. I turn the radio on during the caravan drive to the mountain, ski all day with the earbud, and leave it on until we arrive back at the cabin. I have only seen it get below half charge once!

        Barometer is ok
Purchased two t6320's. Both worked well. Used rechargable AA NiMH batteries without any problem...the battery meter will underread with these batteries because NiMH batteries are 1.2 volts and not 1.5 like the standard alkalines.

Tested the barometers at sea level and they were within 0.01" (on the sea in downeast Maine). These do not have an adjustment to bring you back to sea level if you are above the latter. You will have to interpolate for your altitude. In use, however, it is the relevent rise of and fall of the barometer that counts weatherwise, and not the absolute number. The altimeter also works off the barometer and good for 20 foot intervals. You should set it each time you go out...read the instructions....it is all there.

Compasses were very accurate assuming you know the magnetic declination in your area (-18 degrees in my case). These radios were also a good deal quieter than the t250's that my kids use.

        Would definitely buy again.

The radio you need is right here!
FRS radios are greatly enhanced walkie talkies of ten or fifteen years ago. While walkie talkies were for the most part short range kids toys, most FRS radios have about a two mile range, and actual practical uses. There are presently 3 major distinctions (price ranges) in FRS radios.

        1) The bottom of the barrel cost around 20-40 bucks. They have 14 different channels, and as long as there aren't more than 14 groups of people trying to communicate within a given two-mile radius they will serve your communication needs. If you are going camping where there aren't going to be a whole lot of people around, this category will work just fine without getting mixed up in other peoples' conversations.

        2) The next step up offers 14 channels and 38 privacy codes, which in layman's term results in the equivalent of 532 different channels. They can be used in a more crowded area without much interference from other people's radios. They are good for keeping in touch on the ski slopes or the beach on a moderately crowded day.

        3) The Motorola 6300 series is the top of the line. It's got 14 channels, 38 privacy codes, and three scramble settings. The scramble settings enable as close to a private conversation as can be achieved on a public radio band. Unless two (or more) radios are set to the exact same channel, privacy code, and scramble setting, clear communication is not possible. You and your group armed with Motorola T6300 series radios all set to the exact same channel, privacy, and scramble settings will have virtually uninterrupted communication, in even the most crowded of venues. The 6300 series is backward compatible with older less sophisticated radios. Simply turn off the scramble settings, and you will be able to communicate with older models.

This particular model, the T6320, comes with extra features including a compass, barometer, alarm clock, and other bells and whistles may be more than you need. Such extras may come in handy for the outdoor enthusiast. For those just looking for the best communication device possible, these features may simply add unneeded complexity to the user interface, in which case the basic (Motorola) 6300 model may be more desirable and a little bit cheaper.

I've used this radio during many jam-packed days on the (ski) slopes and it has never let me down. Though it is not waterproof, a little snow here and there has never hindered it's function.

        Bottom line:

If you are a gadget freak, and do not need a radio that may get submersed in water, snap this one up without hesitation. Don't need the added features, but still want the best pure radio out there, go for the (Motorola) 6300. If you are just looking for something for the kids to play with around the house, one of the lower priced radios ought to do the trick just fine.

        Great lil' boombox!
This is a wonderful little stereo with incredible sound. It's cute and compact and comes in a cool, techno-futuristic color. The CD player is awesome and the tape player is great, too. It is easy to operate and would be ideal for little kids who love music. I get clear reception from the radio and the body is compact so it's easy to tow around. It uses batteries or can be plugged into a socket. It's well worth the price and is the perfect gift for any kid or teen who loves music!

        Nice size!
I find most boomboxes to be pretty ugly but this one looks great. It is small and the green color is much better looking than in the picture. The display is easy to read and it has a headphone jack that you can plug headphones into. Amazon has a great price on it too!

        The CFD-G30 is awesome
I bought the CFD-G30 for a garage radio, but this is now hooked up to my HiFi VCR for watching James bond. There is no power nor bass shortages here. This unit is a true BOOM box and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to feel there music from a small system.

        Stylish, Affordable, Portable THUMP!
My wife told me she would get me a boombox for my birthday (so I could jam to tunes at work). DANG, but she wasn't kidding about the BOOM! I was expecting something a little smaller and wimpier, but no dice ... this thing gets LOUD. And with the adjustable bass (three settings: no bass, some bass, lots-o-bass) it sounds really full and not "tinny" or distorted when you crank it up. I only turned it up to 6 and it seemed like I was disturbing my neighbor's peace!

Plus, the radio tuner is digital, so you know if it sounds crackly that it ain't YOUR fault. I always have to pay a lil' bit for the good sound when it comes to boomboxes, but it pays off, because I'm hard on them -- 3 or 4 years, tops. We'll see if this one can beat it.

Overall, I think this is a pretty good box, especially for the price. And who'da thunk, because most Sony personal CD players I ever bought broke after 4 months or so.
