The Answer Phone....
Do you enjoy freedom? These phones give you freedom - cord-freedom that is.... The V-tech phones are low cost and very, very stylish. They may be antique analog, but they still provide a very comfortable way of chatting. I have bought two. They are effectively my easiest way of calling my mum in England while lying comfortably in my bed. A little analog hiss from time to time when we are more than 50 yards away from the base, but otherwise we find the signal excellent around the house.

One reason I only gave four stars is that there is no display on the phone. You have to put your own 'aide-memoire' on the phone as there is no provision to see which of the memories has been assigned to whom. This will of course lower the 'chic-ness' of an otherwise excellent looking and performing phone. I suspect that V-Tech are on their way to making themselves the #1 phone in the US. They clearly understand that a well made and well styled phone is popular. However - if they are becoming so popular, then an upmarket styling is probably required for the family room.

Perfect for the average College Student
This is the perfect Dormitory phone. I've had it for two years now, it's reliable and works great. The sound is superb, and the battery lasts a very long time, so you can talk for as long as you want. I highly recommend it for HS seniors going off to live in a college dorm. For this great price you get a great product. What more can I say.

vtech vt9111
I bought the vtech because my panasonic had fallen a few too many times. The vtech is just the right size for my pocket and seems to work very well! I was concerned when I read in one of the comments that it didn't have a flash button but it does it's the phone button. I'm very pleased with the VT9111.

The GREATEST LITTLE PHONE !!!!
This is the greatest little phone I ever bought! In fact I wanted to buy 3 or 4 more for back up. Now I can't find them any more. If any one has one for sale let me know! This phone has great reception, it fits in your pocket, has caller id and holds 20 speed dial numbers. I have dropped mine many times on cement and it still works great! I hope that Vtech reconsiders and makes this model again!

A Surprisingly Dependable Phone...
I'll be honest, I bought this phone for its' looks and I was willing to sacrifice some performace. But I have had this phone for almost two years and I have no complaints. I have dropped it a couple of times, once on cement, and it still works well. Since I have had some horror stories with other phones I was very pleased with this one.

Small but Mighty
I can only offer wonderful things to say about this little cell-phone-look-alike. The phone is very small (may not be suitable for people with very large hands) but is so convenient and portable. When I bought mine it automatically came with a headset- I first thought it was cheesy but immediately fell in love with it during long conversations when I needed both hands. I was ten times more impressed with this little phone when I took my dogs for a walk, forgetting I had the phone in my pocket. Three to four blocks away from my heavily wooded house my phone rang! I had perfect reception!!! The only drawback is that there is no manual channel changer- it automatically searches for the best channel (sometimes, though rarely irritating). I had tried a couple other VTechs only to return them due to limited range and very little options. With this VTech, you can store tons of numbers, choose from three different ringers, mute, auto redial, caller-id, call waiting caller-id, back light with lighted buttons, etc. Also- you can store a second battery in a little hidden compartment that will charge it for emergency usage! Like I said, just like a cell-phone. Small but definately proves itself mighty!!!

There must be better phones out there.
I've had this phone for over a year and have been pleased with all aspects of it except for the reception. I do not use it over a wide area range. However, the phone never fails to fade out temorarily during a conversation. This has happened both in my current and my previous apartment. I also use a Sony SPP-D900 which I've had since '97 and although it has fewer features, it remains consistently reliable and clear (and is still running on the same battery as when I first bought it).

I like it even better without the answering machine!
When we decided to buy a new phone, I bought this one and then discovered it didn't have a built in answering machine. Well, since we only have one phone line and I spend a lot of time online, we ended up getting an answering service with the phone company to keep one and all happy.

Now, what I love about this phone the most is the caller ID. Thank you to the person who decided to add that to this phone. It is so lovely not to have to answer the phone and have no idea who it is. I don't get very many sales calls at dinner because I don't answer the phone unless my mother, my friends and family or my husband is calling me. Well, unless I am shopping online at Amazon.

So, the other feature I love about this phone is that the keypad lights up and there is a backlit LCD display so you could keep this phone by your bed and still see who is calling you in the middle of the night. Just block those calls in the future!

We have this phone sitting up on top of the bread box in the kitchen. It is that compact and the beauty of this phone..need I go on...is that there is a little button that says: Voice Mail... Ok...so you push that little button after you have programmed in your voice mail number and you never, I say, never have to worry about it again.

Now, when someone calls you, you can see their phone number. All you need to do to quickly return their call is to make sure the display is showing that phone number, then you just hit the call button and voila! it dials it for you.

I am sorry, but this is just the best phone and will save you so much time. No, I haven't gotten around to programming everyone's numbers yet. Just keep the phone numbers in the display when your friends call you, that is just easier.

good phone
I like this phone. I especially like the feature of being able to scroll through the caller ID's on the handset and when you find the one you want, you can just hit one button to call that person back. Battery seems to last a long time.

has program memory and all the standard features and the voice quality is very good.

Does the job but...
I have this at work. It does the job okay, but people sometimes have a hard time hearing what I say, even though I have the speaking volume turned all the way up. The other drawback is that you can't switch out headsets with it - you only can use the monoaural headset that comes with it, which isn't so good for noisy environments.

Other than that, I have been using it for over 6 months now and it has been working well enough to keep.

Works perfectly for me
I first wanted to respond to a concern about terrible screeching when used in office multi-phone conditions. I can't speak to multiple S10's in the same office but did have a screech on first try to another extension. The amplifier, however, has 7 configuration settings. I found several settings worked for outgoing calls but only two worked for both in office and outgoing use. So if a second headset is bought in my office I'll respond to whether we could find a configuration setting for both headsets that worked. I supposed that just confuses the concern.

The earhook setup is light and I find that I forget I'm wearing it until I run into the cord turning my chair or standing up. It is nice that nothing actually sits inside my ear but rather it rests gently on the outside.

Volume wise: In addition to adjusting the volume and tone of incoming signal it really has power available to broadcast your voice out. There are two ranges available for output as well as a volume in each range. The highest range is too much but it is good to know its there if I ever get someone complaining they can barely hear me (as happened all the time with a previous headset system).

Great headset
Easy to set up, great volume controls, and very comfortable. Recommend highly!

Great Product, Almost Perfect
First off, I have owned a lot of noise canceling headsets, and this one takes the cake. By far the best one I have ever used. You can literally whisper and be heard with perfect clarity on the other side. As was mentioned in an another post, the rubberized portion that fits behind your ear could use a little work, it does get worn and the rubber cracks on mine. Overall the fit is decent, but is sometimes hard to get just right as theboom is very pliable and hence subject to rearrangement every time you take it off.

I only have one major problem with theBoom and that is the lack of an inline button. Many (most) headsets have a button inline with the cord that can be used for different features with your phone. Often this button is used to mute, but on many Samsung devices, this button is used to activate the voice dial. Theboom does not have an inline button and hence makes it a bit of a pain to communicate with devices use this feature.

Overall a great product, but for the pricetag, I wish they would address this concern.

a MUST for a truly mobile professional
I have tried many headsets before theboom and had never got used to any one of them, as none of them were worth using or even worth buying.
With theboom it has been a different story. The best part is that I am now truly mobile!; with my handheld and theboom I can take and make calls from anywhere and no one realizes I am not in my office.

I take and make lot of my calls during my train commute. I can whisper on the boom and still be heard on the other side without any background noise that would give away my location. Due to the fact that I am whispering, my neighbours can't hear me at all, so I am worried about being overheard.

Overall it has changed the way I use my cell phone. So if you do business on your cell phone, you should buy it.

Best Headset Ever - "you have to try it to believe"
I was a little skeptical at first when I saw this headset on TechTV, but decided to buy it since I really needed a quality headset. I use the headset with a cell phone and at work on a regular phone. Every time I use it, I am reminded that this headset is worth every penny and more. Noise cancellation is excellent and the other parties are oblivious to you being in a crowded room or outside in traffic.
The latest model comes with an ear piece that directs sound into your ear canal in noisy environments and has a comfortable over-the-ear holder that keeps the headset in place.
I have recommended this to friends and co-workers time and time again. Once you try this, you'll never go back to anything else.

Great phone!
I wanted a phone with caller ID/call waiting, a good screen with plenty of information, and intuitive use. That's exactly what I got. I haven't had *any* of the poor reception problems that another reviewer indicated (that person might have just gotten a bad apple). The handset is very comfortable on the face, the sound is clear (people have even asked me "Have you gotten a new phone? You sound great."), and the use of the Caller ID, Call waiting, and volume controls is very intuitive. Also, the screen is lit and stays lit, so in the dark, you can always see who is calling you, even if you miss the first or second ring (One of my CID/CW phones doesn't light at all, and my other one only lights up for the first ring- so this new phone is much appreciated.) Something else I like is when you pick the handset up, it shows the last number you dialed and asks if you want to redial it- if you do, you just hit redial. No more guessing who you called last when you hit redial.

My only complaints are as follows: I wish the cord from the handset to the base were longer- it's so short that I can't stand next to my nightstand and talk on the phone without lifting the base off the nightstand and I'm hardly Shaquille O'neal (but this is obviously a problem easily remedied). Also, with my other caller ID/Call waiting phones I can punch the number into the phone without picking up the handset, check it on the screen, and THEN pick up the handset, causing the phone to automatically dial the number through(if that makes sense).

Those are minor complaints- I highly recommend this phone, especially for the price.

Good Phone BUT ...
I loved the large buttons however the quality of reception has much room for improvement. At times the phone fades in and out during a conversation and makes you think you were cut off -- yet you weren't ... it's just the bad reception of the phone. Overall it's not a bad phone, in fact one of the better phones I've owned. Just wanted others to be aware of the reception problem.

Excellent Phone!!
I ordered this phone for my home office and was so pleased with it that I ordered a second one for our kitchen to replace the cordless phone that always seems to be in my daughter's room. The display is very readable and all of the features seem to be very intuitive. I think that this phone would still be a great value at twice the price!

Great headset but...
I bought two of these headsets. They have great sound quality compared to several others I have tried. The problem is that these headsets tend to break. Both of mine did after about a year of use. The problem is in the headband. It is adjustable and while bending it to put it on or take it off, it breaks at the point where it adjusts. In one case rendering the headset useless, in the other usable (but annoying because it comes apart) with a liberal application of rubber band.

Still great...
I wrote the review below. I tried the Panasonic model KX-TCA86 headset (which is more expensive) and found it to have lower sound quality than the KX-TCA60. I am very particular about sound quality as I am a sound engineer. I can assure you that the KX-TCA60 is one of the best sounding headsets around. Another reviewer complained about the size of the microphone and wind-screen. I find it acceptable and it is probably one of the main reasons this headset sounds good. (In general microphones with bigger diaphragms sound better.)

For the price this headset is very hard to beat, if not impossible. If it breaks you're out ~$10. Big deal, buy another one. You could buy several and still spend less money than a fancier headset that probably doesn't sound as good.

Excellent headset!
I just bought my first Panasonic headset. I have tried other headsets in the past mostly over the ear and have found them rather uncomfortable. This is my first over the head headset and I love it. Sound quality is really good. Works well with my home phone and cell phone. The price here at Amazon is also unbeatable. If you're looking for a headset, definitely give this one a try.

useful for a little more than a year
First, we switched cords because the one provided is a bit short. But the phone was as good as advertised until the plastic that holds the phone to the wall became brittle and broke off. Now it just hangs there from the wall by the little wire that connects to the jack, begging to be replaced.

Great value
If all you need is a good vanilla phone, not a communications center, you can't do much better. I swear by these phones. Been using them since 1995 -- one I broke, the other I gave to my girlfriend. Am now on my third. Take reasonable care with them, they last forever.
Sound quality is great, they are attractive, feel nice in the hand, and don't require a day of instruction manual reading.
What a shame Sony stopped making them.
Beware of getting these used -- half of them seem to have been abused in some way, but they're worth the search if you can find one in good condition.

A good, basic phone
This is a nice little phone. Although the handset is small, it is comfortable to hold and has a hefty feel which some larger handsets lack. It has good sound quality, and seems to avoid the noise and static our other phone (the one we're about to replace) picks up.

Nice Design / Painful Handset
Anyway, when I saw this, it really caught my eye. It has a classic design. The price wasn't bad either. The push buttons with the rotary style is a nice detail. One drawback is that the receiver is very heavy. The shape of the receiver makes it difficult to put the phone on your shoulder to talk hands-free. I did that on the receiver slipped, hitting me in the lip and teeth. OUCH!

Looks and sounds great. Feels like a Conair.
We have a 1941 house in California complete with a little phone shrine in the kitchen, and nothing but an old fashioned phone could live up to the special little nook. For $19.99 (at an electronics store) I have the look. And the sound. It sounds like a dramatic phone ring in an old movie. The only thing it doesn't have is that twenty pound heft I associate with real old phones. Looks and sounds old, but feels like a Conair.

Super Phone
It's a terrific value. The reception is excellent and it's comfortable to hold and talk on. It's sleek and attractive. I would recommend this item.

Not very pleased from day 1 ...
This phone started having problems from the first day we bought it. (We should have held on to our receipt and returned it right away in retrospect).
When going hands-free it would sometimes hang-up and the quality of the answering machine (understanding the person's message) was poor and never seemed loud enough.
Recently (and we purchased it about 1-2 years ago) the #4 on the key pad started sticking badly and a few days ago it started not hanging-up when it was supposed to and our phone was consequently off the hook and we didn't know it.
It was a pleasure throwing it away last night and now I am on the hunt for a truly great cordless phone!

Works great ... lasted a long time
This phone has worked great for a long time. Good reception ...
more than 50 feet from the main base. Good sound quality (hearing, speaking). Only recently did it give me some trouble: I think the battery may need replacement (after 3-4 years ... that is ok w/ me).

I would recommend it -- esp if on some closeout (for a newer model).

Loved This Phone
I bought this phone almost 4 years ago as a family gift for Christmas. It works great, and we've had no problems. Unfortunately my roommate got mad and threw it against a wall and we will have to be replacing it soon.
