Excellent Phone System - Excellent range, and features
Well, first to the reviewer "m_night2" from Savannah, who said you can use "regular" AA batteries in this phone... that is NOT true. The manual explicitly says that you CANNOT do that, and that the batteries must be NiCD or NiMH rechargeables. This is probably the reason he had trouble with his phone, because regular AA alkaline batteries are different voltage and milliamps than NiMH rechargeables. Use the right batteries and these phones work great.

The features are well thought out - everything is controllable from the handset. One nice thing is that you can pick up your messages from ANY handset. And you can set options from any handset. One of the dissapointments is that the phones do not replicate the directory from handset to handset, so you have to reenter all the names and numbers in every handset. (I really didn't expect that to work, but I was hoping.)

Great buy overall.

Excellent phone
Was looking for an easy solution to phone quality and ease of use with an integrated answering system. Persistence in reading the documentation thoroughly was key in setting the phones up properly. The quality is really far and away much better than any other phones I've used. I love quality stuff so this fit me to a T. Price was good. So far, after about 6 months we've had no problems. I am a very satisfied customer.

fun for all ages phone
The coca-cola phone is a great addition to anyone's home except at times it can be hard to mount but that is a problem that is easily overlooked. The jingle when it rings is really great but it only does a part of the song before it starts over but overall this phone is a great product.

Great Coca Cola Item
This is a bright and colorful decorative item by itself. I enjoy the music and flashing lights whenever the phone rings. These can be disabled. The flashing lights would be great for the hearing impaired as well as for those in a noisey environment.

Love It!!!
This phone is wonderful. I bought it for my daughter, who is a big Pooh fan, (Be careful, there are two on the market of the same design, one has a voice chip, one does not. Read carefully) I did notice Pooh's voice plays at a slower pace than it should giving Pooh a deeper slightly garbled voice. But kids won't notice, I'm sure. This one has no moving parts to malfunction which is great for a long lasting kids room phone. Overall the likeness is great and it is quite a show piece. Her friends love it too.

Wonderful Telephone for kids
I bought this telephone for my neice which is 5 years old. She kept asking her parents when she would get a phone in her room because her sister has one. I talked with them and told them that I bought this for her. She just loves it. It talks when it rings and she gets a big kick out of it. The construction of the telephone is durable especially for kids in case they bang it around. I would highly recommend this telephone for any kids out there that are pooh fans. I have priced other phones in this category and the price can't be beat either. I give this phone 5 stars for design and construction. Your child won't be disappointed in this great find.

Good phone but,,,,
This cordless phone has all the features I need: digital 900Mhz, 10 number memory, backlit keypad and - I especially like - Long Distance Manager which saves me substantial money every month. The voice quality is excellent. BUT...I'm on my third unit this year, and the replacement phones are only warranted for 90 days. My wife uses the headset feature a lot, and I think the headphone jack craps out rather quickly and the phone quits working. If you don't use the headphone jack much though, go for it.

Uniden tested on Dateline (TV)... good enough for me
Ever since I saw Dateline's (TV) installment on cordless phones about a year ago... I've only bought Uniden phones. Dateline was inside Giants Stadium in New Jersey. The crew was sitting up in the press box (top rows of seating). They had about 15-20 different phones to test. Some of the phones reached only half way down the bleachers before they started filling with static and disconnecting. Others went down to the 50 yard line. Uniden, however, went further... they went several hundred yards into the parking lot (outside the stadium) before they experienced any static. That sold me. I have 3 Uniden phones in my house (this is one of them) and they are all good phones. No problems with static or disconnecting. No problems with the phone out in the yard or even a couple of doors down at my neighbor's house. Uniden makes a good phone - and this is a good basic unit (has several channels to choose from, 10-number memory, and auto redial).

    Great phone but...
I have owned this phone for over a year. It is great phone, never failed me. I have dropped it countless times and yet it never dies on me. The battery life is very good. I can hear the speaker perfectly (you can adjust the volume). And the phone looks great, a plus!
However, like everything good, it does have its flaws. First of all, you can't get TOO far from the base or you will hear a very unpleasant static beep noise sort of thing on the phone. Also, I don't know why, but the forward caller ID button no longer works. But there's always the backward button, so then it's ok.
In conclusion, I would say this phone is a good buy, but remember: if you plan on walking a long distance from the phone's base, then I don't recommend this phone.

    cool@!
I luv this phone! It looks cool and it works perfectly! Everyone should own one!

      Good for the Basics
Simple needs phone...none of the bells and whistles if you don't want them. It works well, the battery lasts and it gets the calls made. No caller ID or fancy features, but if you just want a cordless phone that doesn't pick up random signals and works when you need it, this is it!

A useful phone at a great price.
A nice phone with all the basic features and a good battery life. Remote messages check is also a useful feature. The only problem is that it dosent recognise and disconnect on the engage tone. also, we it dosent have a battery back-up and hence loses the date and time and other settings whenever the power goes off (which happens quite frequently in india). i guess that these small things would have made it the best choice. But still, a great phone and make no mistake on that.

This phone is unbelivable. i love it, it has clear calls and you cant hear any interfearence. i rec. for teens since im one and i spend hours on the phone this is great. the only thing i did not like was that there was no hold or mute button.

      Best phone yet.
Bought it for its looks: was rewarded with the best cordless phone i've owned yet. And yes, it does light up when a call comes in!

      Pretty Cool Phone
I like this phone. The reception is just as good as the regular LCD version. The pictures on the phone are not as clear they appear on the box, but they are still good. The downloadable ringtones only lasts for about 10 seconds or so and then that ten seconds of clip is repeated until phone is answered or the caller hangs up. It is easy to use and the instruction manual is helpful. All in all, I like it and I plan on keeping it.

      excellent accessory handset
I have bought 3 of these handsets and they all work great. No interference with my wireless network as many have reported w/ base system. Downloading pictures and sound clips to the phone is very easy (simple software worked perfectly) and fun (not great quality but what do you expect). Reception on all 3 is very good with 50 number storage and intercom/speakerphone features on each phone. In summary these phones are user friendly and do what they claim.

One year and several problems later...
We purchased this phone last year when our cordless went to telephone heaven. It worked great for about 9 months, then it started acting funny. For one thing, the phone suddenly refused to charge if the keypad was facing in (toward the base). Just last week, the phone began to emit a strange buzzing noise at periodic intervals in the conversation; changing the channel on the phone, recharging it completely and moving to another room did not resolve the problem. Once every three or four months, the answering machine "resets" itself, losing the time and date and our greeting message.

One thing I found uncomfortable about the phone is the proximity of the "Talk" button to my jaw. When I cradle the phone between my shoulder and head while talking, I inevitably hang up on the caller. Sometimes it doesn't hang up - it just puts the person "on hold" and I can click back into them. This, of course, is quite random.

Another feature I don't care for is the fact that you have must delete the message while you're listening to it. If you have any old messages, you must hit PLAY, then delete it. Not a major incovenience, just a minor annoyance.

Occasionally, the answering machine will pick up on the second ring instead of the fourth as it normally does. Again, random.

The phone base fits well on our wall and the phone itself is easy to use. The ring tones and volume is adjustable and the channel features are useful.

My Comments on the Uniden EXAI7980 telephone
I just recently purchased a Uniden EXAI7980 telephone. And at about US$70, it's got a lot of very nice features. It is a charcoal-gray 900 Mhz cordless phone with integrated answering machine, speakerphone and caller ID. The sound quality is excellent. It is clear and loud with no interference at any range. I especially like the adjustable volume control that wouldn't default back when you hang up (unlike my last phone). The only major complaint that I have about this phone is that there is no battery backup for recorded messages. And that, I feel, is quite unacceptable, considering all of today's telephones with integrated answering machine have some sort of battery backup. So, if there is ever a power outage, you will definitely lose all of your previously recorded messages. If either you work from a home-office or this will be your only answering machine, then I strongly wouldn't recommend this. Otherwise, if you can overlook this design flaw, then this is a great all-in-one telephone for anyone who doesn't rely heavily on its answering machine capabilities.

      Love my Uniden exai7980i
I absollutely love this phone. Love it so much, that I bought 4 of them just in case one of them dies and tehy have quit making it. Had another similar phone that I liked a little better (AT&T) but it died and it was more than twice as much. The feature it had that Uniden doesn't is that it actually spoke and told you who was calling in your own voice.
