Forget internet access
One other reviewer praises the ability to watch his kids in the other room. I agree the camera is useable for this. However, access over the internet for me, so far, has been impossible. I have jumped through all the hoops such as firmware and software updates, followed the very specific instructions supplied by veo for my linksys wireless ap/router, and tried using a different port than 80. I have tried and tried but now must face the fact that I cannot recommend this product in it's present form. A good idea but does not perform as advertised. Something better will come soon I think.

Some pros: Motion detector attachment works well although you can only send the resulting email snapshot to one address. This means you cannot email your phone as an alarm and at the same time have the snapshot sent to a remote computer that burglers will not be taking with them when they leave. You get either a virtual alarm or an email snapshot. Not both. I would think veo would have thought this through and could have easily had this feature.

In closing, obviously I had some idea that I could use this camera for security monitoring over the net. This has not been the case for me and I am not a total amatuer. I usually work stuff like this out.

Oh, and dont let me forget to mention that there is NO telephone support of any kind and my email went unanswered.

Cheap and efficient
Setup's a toughie, no doubt, but I bagged the complex manual and went right to the telephone tech support. After a 15 min. wait, they walked me through the setup in about 45 mins. Works great and compared to other systems its cheap.

Note: For remote viewing you'll most likely need a web portal that will offer a "static" web address. TZO.com will do it for 25 bucks a year.

Finally an awesome 802.11 Networking Camera
I hooked it up to my Linksys wireless network and I can now see my kids in the play room while I am working. Very easy to install, I was blown away with the remote pan and tilt features.

Small, But Reliable?
I've owned this phone for 2 years now. In fact, I am reviewing it now because I am looking for another phone to replace it.

I got the phone 2 years ago at Walgreens in Brookline, Massachusetts. It was only $10. Here at the Pros and Cons of the phone:

PROS:

Lightweight
Small
Glow in the dark keypad
Re-dial

CONS:

Flimsily made

Won't last over 2 years

Materials used are so cheap, it makes a Kia look like a Mercedes-Benz.

When you press the "Hook" button, you will hear static. This relates to the cheap materials.

Headset it comes with is more flimsy than the phone. I threw it out before using it for more than a few days. Go out and get a REAL headset from Radioshack or some other electronics store.

After a year, static will become more prominent, and will get so loud at times, you can not hear the other person on the line.

THE BOTTOM LINE: If you want a cheap phone to use for a year, by all means, by this product. If you are planning to use it for more than a year, find something else. Believe me.

What a Phone!
I really like it. It makes everything easy. A must buy for people that talk on the phone a lot!

GREAT PHONE!
This phone is GREAT! Especially for people who like to roam around the house while on the phone! it was the best item I have ever gotten online! It's very small and very easy to use.

Disappointed
I was very impressed with the sound quality. The ability to increase the volume is a very nice touch. But-t-t. I am very disappointed with the ear piece. No matter how hard I tried, or in what position I put the ear piece, it was very uncomfortable! It kept slipping out of my ear, which also moved the microphone out of range of my mouth. I don't think I have an unusual size ear. I now know that I want a head set type.

Nice mini phone
I really enjoy this handy gadget. The only thing is I lost the manual. Can anyone help me. I want to change the ring tones.

What a great gift idea!
This palm size telephone is really handy. It's hands-free (NO HANDSET) with 15 foot long telephone cord, so you can walk around, do things while you're talking on the phone. Also, it has glow in the dark keypad, adjustable volume, redial key, flesh key (i.e., call waiting), ... plus very good voice quality.

Seems quality, but reverb in handset
Seems like a decent phone, no problems with static, works great outside....but at least one of the handsets has reverb when talking. For this reason, I'll probably return for another of the same or something different.

A tremendous value.
I have owned VTech phone systems from the first generation cordless up until this model, which replaced my 2.4 GHz system. This model is ideal for a single person or small family as it is not expandable, but you get two phone sets for a great price. The features are plentiful and easy to understand. I like the new rechargable batteries instead of the clunky cartridge in the older phones. Three mailboxes, 50 phone number storage (What's cool is you only punch in the numbers/names once and they are shared by both phones.), good sound quality, so I have no complaints yet. I didn't give this 5 stars because I don't know how it will stand the test of time. My 2.4 GHz system became a pain as it aged and the phone units discharged very quickly, even with new battery cartridges. Plus VTech did not say if you should let your phone units discharge off the charger or keep them sitting on the charger...a real dilemma because I wonder what is best for long battery life. But let's hope the new rechargable batteries do a better job...then I'll add the fifth star.

Best phone I have ever had.
I bought this phone a week ago and it's is the easiest phone to use. The clarity of the phone is the best. You can hear the the person on the other line perfectly. I have no complaints about this phone. It is worth every penney!

Speakerphone blur
To me the issue was the speakerphone. The voice of the caller was blurred and felt overlapped. I called AT&T customer service and they suggested that I return the item. I am doing just that.

Reliable, Conveniant
This is an excellent cordless phone, the extremely low price was just a plus. I needed something with a cordless module, but also a speakerphone that was clear and didn't sound like you were speaking through a megaphone. The reception is also unbelievable, I have quite a large house and this phone works floors away from the phone cradle! This product delivered, I full heartedly recommend it.

Good product, but don't buy from Office Depot
The product itself is quite good and I would recommend it. However, the fact that it is supplied by Office Depot is the problem. Office Depot used poor shipping methods (an envelope with no padding) and also sent an item that had already been opened.

The best headset on the market
I've tried a few different brands, and this headset by far is the best! Very comfortable to wear for hours at a time, clear sound, excellent sensitivity of the microphone.

    I Like It!
This is the first cordless phone I've ever found comfortable enough to talk on for extended periods. It's ergonomically designed like the old, corded Trimline phones so it doesn't hurt the outside of my ear like most cordless phones do. It's comfortable to hold, and holding it btwn my head and shoulder to free up my hands doesn't cause any of the buttons to key and disconnect - like many cordless phones do. I've had my current one for several years and would keep it except the LCD display on the caller ID has worn out. I'm buying a new one of the same model because I like it so much. I highly recommend this phone!

    Not a Problem
I'm actually leasing this product now from AT&T. I've been leasing for over ten years and decided to purchase a phone. I've had several from AT&T with problems, and I've returned them. They offered me this one, and I do like it but I want buttons on the phone and on the base and a answering machine which this doesn't have. I just purchased a new phone and I'm returning this one but I want to purchase it for another room. I have no problems with it.

Almost everything you need in one package
If you're heading to Europe, this kit will give you everything you need to make sure your equipment works over there. All of the pieces fit nicely in the included case, making for easier packing.

The only downside is that the included power converter isn't particularly powerful (55 watts I believe). I ended up picking up a second power converter for handling things like laptop and camcorder chargers.

    A Great Product!
This is such a great product because it includes 220V to 110V AC converter, phone adapters for major European countries, and includes a custom vinyl compact carrying case. The Belkin F8E067 European Power/Phone Converter Pack is realy great if you live in Eurip.

    Nice Accessory For Thinmodem
I use this adapter more than the cable that came with the Thinmodem. When traveling, I don't always have a jack to plug into. It's much easier to find a phone that I can unplug the wire from the phone and connect to this adapter. Also, most telephone jacks are usually mounted near the floor and are usually difficult to get to. Again, it's usually easier unplugging the telephone wire from the phone and plugging into this accessory. Plus, when I don't have a phone line to plug into, I can use my Konexx Koupler and attach to a payphone. It's more convenient using this accessory then using the cable that comes with the Thinmodem and an inline phone extension adapter to allow me to plug in the accoustic adapter.

One problem is don't carry it in your pants pocket. It was convenient to carry it with me in my front pants pocket. I guess the constant bending and moving has stressed the wire going into the connector and mine has developed a short after only a couple of months of usage. It still works, but it's becoming very difficult to position the wire to make it work so I'm having to buy another one.

Not sure when I will use this but might be nice to have.
I bought this with my thinmodem. I haven't used it yet since the thinmodem comes with a connection cable. I guess it would come in handy if you keep it in your brief case for away trips...or those times when you forget your connection cable. This is a "nice to have"..not a "need to have".

    Good product, Fast service
I ordered this telephone for its style, I wanted something that looked old-fashioned but not too frilly. It seems to be of reasonably good quality. My main suggestion is with regard to color of the phone. From the name and order info offered I assumed the phone only came in the color black, no other colors being offered. However, when it arrived the product's box had a photo of a white phone, which I would not have found acceptable, the phone inside the box turned out to be a dark green in color which, as it happens, was even better for my purposes than the black. This variety of colors is something that should be addressed in the order process so that the purchaser does not have to send back a phone of an unacceptable color.

    Value for money
I bought this phone last week. Its a good product. Works well. Has push buttons instead of rotary dial. That compromises on the elegant look, but makes it more suited to today's digital world by supporting tone dialing, which makes calls to automated numbers possible from this phone.

The phone is made of plastic, and does not have the kind of finish you would expect from an elegant phone. But definitely worth the money.
