A good phone for the moneyThe good:
Handset is lightweight, comfortable to hold.
Five ring options available (2 ringer tones at 2 volume levels, plus "off").
Easy to program the speed dials!
Dial any number on caller ID with one touch.
Rocket dial - a special "speed dial" that you use often, such as calling your voice mail inbox. Particularly nice is the option to program a "pause" between strings of numbers, which may be necessary when navigating through menu options.
Easy ear volume control
Time length of last phone conversation displayed (but disappears a few seconds after hanging up)
Looks good
Normally great reception all over the house, even downstairs, except...
The bad:
Occasionally, when in one spot in our living room, we hear a tic..tic..tic. Some sort of interference, but not sure what since there are no electronics or other obvious objects in our living room that would cause this.
My recommendation: READ THE MANUAL before plugging in this phone. Get to know the features and you will love it. I have had nothing but bad luck with recent cordless phones, but this time I made sure to FIRST read about battery charging, maintenance, etc. and so far so good.

Poor sound and range outweigh the useful features.I worked with the Brother help-line but none of their suggestions were successful.
I returned the unit and bought a Uniden 2-line DSS.

Flimsy and it died quickly
It died in less than 6 months.
Do something with caller ID informationOn the minus side: when a call comes in and if the number is matched to someone in the phone memory list, the selected ring tone will sound - but the name displayed is from the Caller ID info - not the name programmed into memory. 50% of the calls I get are from numbers behind PBX exchanges (or equivelent) where the caller id name information is generic ("California Call", "Wireless Call", etc.).
I'd recommend this phone to my friends - but this isn't the "end all" phone for me ... I'll keep looking at new phones with more caller ID features.
