Buyer Beware!
This is not the "system" as advertised- it is only an extension unit and cannot be used without purchasing an RCA Wireless Phone Jack System.

It works very well but does have some drawbacks
I have used two RCA Wireless Phone jacks for about two years now without much in the way of problems. They are portable and literally just need to be plugged in. One drawback is that you cannot pick up two phones that are connected to two individual jacks at the same time (3 way conversation). One of the jacks grabs the dial tone and the other will give a nasty buzz. You may also need to periodically reset both extension units by lifting the receiver of the phone attached to the base unit if you do not hear a dial tone from the extension units. You can however lift the phone receiver attached to the base unit and one of the phone receivers attached to the extension unit simultaneously for 3-way conversations. If you plan to use the wireless jack for a phone or fax machine do not plug this device into a wall socket that is too near electrical lines or devices. You will receive a lot of static interference and the performance of the phone jack will degrade over time. Apart from these minor drawbacks the units are very cost effective, very portable, and function well over a long period of time. If you can handle a slow internet connection then this will work fine for the internet as well.

Not a bad alternative to wiring a new phone
This gizmo certainly solved my problem with not having a phone jack in a room that I needed one in. The only drawback I found was that it's NOT compatible with caller id. Otherwise the unit works great and has a good range from base to extension unit.

What a let down
I previously owned a Panasonic phone very similar to this model. It was black and I had it for about 4 years. It worked wonderfully the entire time. I guess it finally wore out and so I decided that I would buy another just like it. I bought this model thinking it would be just as good. Was I wrong. I had some of the same problems that others had. It would beep in the middle of a conversation and then cut out. I would have to ask the person to repeat what they said because I couldn't hear them. I also had trouble with the "tin can" sound. Several times I would call someone and it would be very hard to hear them and there would be a static sound in the background. I would hang up and call back and it would be better. I ended up returning this phone and trying the cheaper model thinking it would be more like the original. This one was no good either. I returned the second model and went for another brand. We'll see how this goes. Very disappointed, Panasonic!

Good Features, Bad Design
Well I'm officlally done buying Panasonic cordless phones. I tried one a couple years back and had problems so I exchanged it for the same one, which ended up had the same problems. I figured it's been a couple years and maybe the've ironed them out but they have definately not. I bought this phone a couple months ago and returned it because it would cut out for no reason and then beep. It sometimes also sounded like the person I was talking to was under water. Once again I exchanged it for the same model, thinking I just had a defective unit, but the second one does the same thing. I am returning this phone and will try my luck with another brand (not sure what yet).

good stuff
this phone is good. if you want something with more features. spend more money. but in my experience panasonic makes solid cordless phones. i've use three starting with an old 25 channel, then a 900 mhz and now this one.
I got this at target for the same price and i didn't think anyone else carried these colors.
the battery life is good (just keep in mind batteries have memories) will last forever on standby. charges fairly quickly too.
sound quality is very good, has Voice Enhancer feature i never use cause it basically just tweaks the EQ on the speaker and can make people sound a little strange. whatever.
reception is usually very good only when i go outside do i get a little interference(i have the base in the basement)and next to the microwave(kind of funny considering these things supposedly operate at the same frequency or something).
and the real reason to get this phone are cool colors that make people go "what is that".
complaints: the shoulder adapter it comes with could have been designed a little better, works better as a little phone stand for use with the handset speakerphone. maybe they should have included a nice headset instead.

I agree with Loring Cook - what's that NOISE?!??
I got the high pitched buzzing noise too. Mine's going back to the store from whence it came! Sure the color's cool, but...

spend the $, get a phone that works!
i can't even tell you how much i hate the 2 vtech phones i have gotten. one i got as a gift, and the other i bought. they both are horrible. they have terrible sound quality, range, battery life, & durability - and they were especially poor in my 2 floor apt! . i tried to save a little $, but now i'm on my third cordless phone in a little over a year and have spent more $ than if i had just gotten a siemens 2.4ghz w/ caller ID in the first place! do yourself a favor & pay attention to the reviews. cordless phones are tough.

handset is too small
I love this phone, but the handset is too small to prop between my head and my shoulder. If you plan on talking completely hands free, choose another phone.

Screen died after 1 yr, bad volume
Phone receiver volume and clarity was poor. Display screen died after 1 year.

Good Idea, bad product
I purchased this item about 18 months ago and I'm not particularly satisfied with it. It's a great idea - a phone and clock radio all in one - a great space saver. Unfortunately, this is not the model to buy. The display screen is at a difficult angle to see unless you raise your head. The controls are not particularly intuitive to use. The worst aspect of the unit, however, is the volume control. It is very imprecise and the volume can't be set low enough without cutting out completely. Don't waste your money....

too complicated to set the alarm; radio volume in bad place
Excellent clarity on the phone and radio. Has volume control for phone. Volume control on radio/alarm is in a very bad location. Reach over and turn the clock where you can see it and you have inadvertanly turned the volume all the way down. That is a real problem come morning. While this is a first rate phone and radio, I have a problem with having to push so many buttons to set the alarm. To reset the alarm for the next day, you must turn off the alarm and then remember to turn it back on for the next day. Alarm A is radio; alarm B is buzzer.

Looked good on paper, but..
I've been on a search for a decent speakerphone, answering combo, with CID for a few weeks now and this unit was the 2nd stop on my search. Everything looked great on paper, even though I have no use for 3 mailboxes, I thought I'd give it a try and the price was quite attractive.

The first thing I noticed was that the CID display was hard to read because it isn't backlit, nor does it have any option to change the contrast. Sound quality on the handset was ok, although some people commented that I sounded muffled to them. The next thing I disliked was having to set the time on both the phone and the answerer, other phones allow you to only set it once, and even then it is updated automatically by the CID service. I then recorded my outgoing message and when playing it back I could barely hear it and it was badly garbled. I also found that recorded messages were badly garbled during playback as well. I've had a digital answering machine before this and never had a problem with garbled messages before. When I tried to retrieve my messages remotely, I was unable to get the machine to recognize my code no matter how many times I tried. Because of this, I ended up returning the unit the next day.

I'm now trying out a Panasonic 2.4GHZ combo unit - praying that I don't experience the battery problems that many others have posted about. For the money, the Panasonic has everything I need and more, and so far so good, but since I've only had it for a few days it's hard to tell if it's a keeper or not.

Great design, but easily broken
I loved this phone. I loved it so much I've purchaced 2 of them. Now I'll admit, I'm rough on phones, but both managed to become unusable within one year of purchace. That is really my only gripe.

Now the good stuff. The design is good. I like the phone, the number of mailboxes, the answering system was great. The caller ID was a tad slow, but not any more than my other caller ids. Overall it was a good phone, but not meant for long term hard heavy usage.

Works great for me, and I've returned a lot of phones
This phone has excellent clarity and features. I haven't used caller ID since I don't have the service. All of the other features were exactly what I wanted and work well. I especially wanted a full function speaker phone with keypad for checking my voicemail at work, for long hold times when calling businesses, and navigating automated answering systems that require lots of keypad entries.

I use this right next to my computer and have no interference. I also have another 900 mhz phone in my house and do not get any interference or crosstalk.

I have read through many phone reviews on Amazon and Epinions and have concluded that there is no one single phone or manufacturer that gets consistently good reviews. It is such a guessing game. I returned 3 other phones in a 2 week period before I bought this one. It's about the only way to select a phone. The phones I returned were 900 mhz and 2.4 ghz brand name phones, and all had lousy audio quality. This one is a winner though. I hope it lasts a long time so I don't have to go through all of this again to find what I want.

Never again
This phone was a waste of money. It's lack of radio frequency suppression means I hear the local spanish music station during all my calls. So does the person on the other end of the line. While this could be considered ambiance it is distracting when you are having a serious conversation. GE has offered to repair the phone, but in the mean time I need to buy another phone - it certainly won't be a GE model.

Another GE loser
My old GE phone was buggy, and the fix -- doing a re-set with batteries removed -- required me to restore the pre-sets at least a dozen times over a few years. So far, bugs plaguing this nice-looking and functionally rich replacement have caused me to lose the pre-sets twice in the three days I've had it. There is no key-tone adjustment, so the phone beeps at you when you press a button to get a line, and it beeps some more when you punch in a 10-digit number. GE tech support said this is a bug, but they are wrong, since the replacement I picked up yesterday at Best Buy does the same thing. Also, I have been unable to wring the ringer and cross-talk bugs out of the two-line function. The problem is attributable to the fact that the input jacks for lines 1 & 2 require a 2-line coupler, rather than allowing the user to simply plug each of two wall lines into separate 1&2 phone-input jacks.

The phone has decent heft and a nice finish, but the touch of the buttons is too firm for my taste. I am hoping GE's tech support can resolve at least some of the bugs, since alternative choices in this category are relatively meager.

A very solid desk phone
I needed a two-line desk phone for my home office, and this one is working out very nicely so far. Its sound quality surpasses many phones I've used in corporate settings, and its handset is a nice weight -- not cheap-feeling. It works well in speaker mode, and I'm also enjoying using it with a Plantronics headset I purchased. On top of all this, the phone looks good. If it displayed caller ID, I'd rate it a "5." But at this price, I'm still very happy with it!

Does not have the Range
I bought this phone and returned it within 14 days. The range of the handset is VERY limited. The handset started loosing its signal 20 feet from base! Made any type of mobility with the handset useless unless are in the same room as the base.

Don't buy this phone
We bought two of these phones for our home office. They are terrible! When both phones are being used at the same time, they interfere with each other. There is very poor outgoing sound quality- our customers were constantly asking us to repeat ourselves. Also, the range on these phones is very poor. Whenever I would step outside of the room with the base, a clicking noise would start. This phone may be ok if you only need one (although it doesn't sound like it based on other reviews), but I would not get this phone if you need two.

Didn't like the sound
Bought and returned this phone. The microphone was weak and people complained they couldn't hear me, and the speaker was somewhat harsh. (I'm going to buy the more expensive Siemans which I used to have.)

DOES NOT WORK FOR WINDOWS XP
This Camera DOES NOT WORK FOR WINDOW'S XP. If anyone knows how to get it to work please add a review. I have tried 3+ hours to get it to work with no luck. Micro Innovations needs to take down the "XP Driver" they claim to work from their website. Don't buy this cam if you have XP!!

Works fine with XP
When you install the driver, it tells you that the driver doesn't have a signiture for XP. It's still a win 2000 driver, if you click OK, it installs and works without a problem. I agree that this is unacceptable... but it does not affect performance. It works fine.

I've had no problems with the functionality of this device.
Picture quality is OK for the price, it's all I need to see friends and family across the country. Be sure you have a lot of light... lower light produces images with a blue tint.

My wife bought this to communicate with family. If I had made the decision, I would probably have bought one that had in integrated microphone. Probably the logitec when it's on rebate... But I see no reason to replace the IC100C.
If you're looking for something cheap with no rebate hassle, this will do the job.. and for under $20.

with XP
I haven't had any issues with this running on XP. I've had it for a year now and use it once a week to catch up with friends internationally. It's been great for me. It runs off a hub in my setup.
