Too cheapI bought this to replace the old corded phone that was in our kitchen. We were fine with the short cord because it would be out of our daughter's reach. We plugged it in when we got home and it worked fine. The next day I went to use it and it was as dead as a doornail. I tried it in two other (yes, working!) phone jacks in our house and nothing. I returned it and bought a different brand for a couple of bucks more and it works just fine.
Not BadGood phone. I gave it 3 stars only because it limits your mobility.
ALMOST PERFECT!i would have given it 5 stars except for it's so basic. i'm going for basic, but maybe COLOR! it also doesn't let u roam around the room.

Phone is good, answerer rarely picks upThe phone itself seems to work pretty well, but since nearly day one of owning this phone the answering device randomly chooses when it will pick up an incoming call (almost never). It is infuriating and renders the entire thing useless. We've tried to fix it, contacted GE, etc....nothing - still refuses to 'answer' 75% of our calls. Maybe we just got a dud, but I wouldn't recommend it based on my experiences.
OK OKThis phone worked for me for a couple of months and now it started giving problems. The handst is not responding in the sense that I am not able to hear anything nor make calls. Only thing working now is the answering machine.
Good luck if you already bought this product
Good Phone - Good Pricevery easy to set-up. my kids (under 10 years old, did the set-up). No static in sending or recieving calls. many good options,

BE CAREFULThis radio wakes you up at a loud sound regardless of how you set it. If you have it set at a low volume level, it'll wake you and the entire neighborhood at your wake-up time. I just bought it but I'm throwing it out.
Caller ID screen too smallBesides not being able to control the volume -- if you wear glasses or have "aging" eyes -- it is very difficult to read the caller ID box -- it is too small
Too loudMinimum volume for the radio on the phone is too loud. If you set the alarm radio to wake you, it will wake the entire street block. No way to lower volume. Too bad for an otherwise good product.

It should be ZERO starsI used the phone for a few weeks, then put it away for a few weeks. When I charged it up to use again, it did not work. I called the customer service number on the phone and got a totally unrelated company who never even heard of these people. So I found a tech support email address on their home page (tech support for the phone, not the page's webmaster, I do know the difference)After a week when there was no response, I bought a new battery and charged it. Still nothing. That was several months ago and still no response from the support email either. It is obvious these people will try to weasel out of the warrantee by not ever finding out what is wrong with the phone. While I pursue it, I bought and am using an AT&T cordless phone. This one remaims plugged in just in case I ever reach someone who will want to try and diagnose the problem.
Volume problemsThis phone isn't all bad but it's verging on unusable for me. It's a disaster dialing with a headset on, because the touch tones you hear when you dial will deafen you if you set the volume as high as you need to hear the recipient of your call. In many cases the volume simply can't be raised high enough and you can't have a conversation without switching phones. My headset works fine with a similar phone by another maker, and the problem applies without the headset too. Major design flaws include the absence of a mute button and a one-touch volume control instead of separate +/- volume keys. The one-touch key cycles through 3 or 4 volume settings and doesn't display where you are, so you never know if the volume is at max, and so that if you hit the button to hear someone better they are as likely to grow fainter as grow louder, which makes you miss more of what they're saying and infuriates you in the meantime.
A Good Low-priced PhoneI bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law. She has a harder time seeing and hearing on regular phones. This one has been working well for the last six months and is easy for her to push the buttons and adjust the volume.
For the category of phones (price and features) this is a great phone.

Don't buy it!After having this box for 6 months, it shorted out causing my phone line to go dead. The phone company came and said there was no problem with the outside lines. I unplugged the box and the line immediately came back. Everytime I plugged it back in - dead line. I am now purchasing a different brand. Other than that, the product works fine except for 2 major negatives. First, I wanted a caller ID box that had an electric adaptor. I didn't want to have to constantly change batteries and have an outlet near by. It would've even been okay if the adaptor was optional - I would've purchased it separately. This unit only works on batteries. The product description did not mention this. There is no optional adapter and no space to insert one. Second, the product says call waiting/ caller id. The call waiting / caller ID does not work. I definitely have this service on my phone line, and the feature did work on my previously installed Southwestern Bell caller ID box. Pluses: large display is easy to read and its easy to delete call numbers that you don't want to save.
Average Caller ID boxPanasonic is a brand that usually means quality, leadership... and compatibility. Well, after I ordered the unit which matches my black phone perfectly, I discovered that the box does not show the name of the caller, only the number. I called my telco and verified that I had the caller ID + name service turned on and they advised that some caller ID boxes are not compatible with all telco equipment systems.
So, I like the design, the features, with the only exception that it does not support caller ID name. A small advice from me: call your telephone company and ask for them to recommend a brand for compatibility reasons.
Good Caller ID for the PriceBuy it you will not regret it

worst phoneThis phone is only good if you like listening in on other people's conversations. The first time I used it you could constantly hear the phone clicking. I stopped to listen and could hear every word of someone else's conversation. I thought it was supposed to be good at scrambling--it's the worst I have ever used.
Too Much Crackle and PopI purchased this phone to take to my office acrossed the driveway so I would know when I received a call at my house. I purchased a 2.4 Ghz. phone hoping for extra clarity. However, it consistently crackles without being "out of range." I receive better clarity from my 900 Mhz. cordless phones. Overall, I'm very disappointed with this product.
Southwest Bell GH2405,2.4 GHz Cordless PhoneThis is a great phone. It has a sleek looking and sound clearly with 2.4 GHz range & technology. I don't need caller ID &LCD display. So it is no need to spend more for the features I don't want. The earphone jack and belt clip is convenient if you plan to carry the phone around.

Not impressedMy experience with this phone is so different from the reviewer who gave it five stars that I wonder if we even have the same model. Or perhaps mine is defective. Whatever the case, it's going back less than one day after it arrived. The sound quality is mediocre with or without the "voice enhancer technology" turned on. (With it turned on, it sounds a bit like a soundtrack for a bad dream or unfortunate drug experience.) This phone was a big disappointment and a waste of time having to box it up and send it back.
My old Panasonic 900MHz Phone is Far better than thisThis phone does not work even in my small two bedroom aparment. I never had any problems with my old panasonic cordless phone. If I move from one room to other room while talking, it will start giving static noises(even if i am not far more than 20 feet). I also moved the base unit from my living room to one of the bed rooms, still same problem. I am returing this product back to Amazon.
Pros:
1. Looks great
2. Cell phone like Phone book is very helpfull
Cons:
1. Give lots of static noise if you go far away from base.
Does what its supposed to do, and well!Prior experience with the Panasonic KX-TG2247S was an extreme disappointment - however this Model is lighter, smaller, and definetly performs much better then the older one, which I returned twice. Battery life is very close to that stated of 11 day stand-by / or 5 hours talk-time. VE (Voice Enhancer) technology is an added bonus (though as the manual already states: at times it will increase the line noise too). The menu has been improved by making it more intuitive and bringing it in line with that of a Mobile Phone. Being Water resistant is a big plus since my wife is always using it in the kitchen while cooking :-) Overall I am giving KX-TG2226SV 5 stars as its restored my confidence in Panasonic's ability to make world class cordless phones.

stay closeI ordered this phone because part of its title was giga range.I assumed that meant it had a decent range of usability from the base set. I cannott walk in the yard and get a clear signal. forget about going to the garden. over fifteen years ago I bought two escort brand cordless phones.Their range was at least ten times the panasonic.Sadly all escort makes now days is radar detectors.I kept one of them going as long as I could. Now I need a phone with some range. This phone goes back.
Not really Wall MountableDON'T buy this phone if you want to mount it in your kitchen. Panasonic advertises the phone as "wall-mountable," and it comes with an adapter. In truth, it is a terrible design. It mounts horizontally -- so it sticks out like a shelf. It looks ridiculous. And if your wall mount is four feet or higher, you will have a very hard time reading a display.
Great Cordless for Those Who have Voicemail ServiceJust bought it last weekend. I love this phone. I wanted to buy a 5.8 GHz cordless without the answering machine because it already comes with my phone service. This phone is geared perfectly for that purpose. It has a voicemail button to access voicemail. The caller ID works great. The range is good, my front yard is 100 yards and the reception is clear at least to 100 yards. If you buy an expandable phone, the two phones can also act like a baby monitor. The phone also remembers the name and number of the people that call you, much like the Call Register feature on mobile phones.

Hard to ReadQuite simply, this caller ID display is too hard to read from any angle EVEN if it has brand new batteries in it, AND the contrast is turned up all the way. The display is just too dim. Save your money and don't buy this one.
HOW DO YOU RESET THE LANGUAGE OPTION?I bought several of these since they were inexpensive, although they EAT batteries. Unfortunately, I didn't keep the instructions for setting the language (which you must re-do after changing the batteries). Can anyone out there help me with this? Thanks!
Passable product, sham warrantyAs with most budget-priced caller ID boxes these days, the display is seriously lacking in contrast, and harder to read than boxes made a decade ago. The contrast control, with about 20 settings, gives you the choice of a too-dark background (showing all 8's) or a too-light foreground. The unit comes with a non-detachable cord, denying you the option of locating the box far away from the jack using a longer cord. The 1-year warranty is nonsense because you must pre-pay a "shipping and handling" charge almost equal to the price of the unit. I wish manufacturers would spend an extra nickel to add two more wires to the feed-through, which would make it possible to use a 2-line phone (although with caller ID only on line 1). Another nice feature would be a way to delete all calls from a specific number simultaneously. Without these features, this Southwestern Bell unit performs its basic function adequately, though not superbly.

Good as a novelty - terrible as a phoneI picked this up a couple years ago. While it looks great for decoration, its a horrendous phone. The phone cord the unit comes with is ridulously small and plugs in the back of R2. You won't be able to walk a foot away from R2 without dragging him along. The phone handset itself is awful as well. The shape is completely flat and uncomfortable due to it being his arm. The buttons are no better as they are incredibly small. Overall - this thing makes a good piece of decoration but as a phone, it's junk.
i don't reccomend thisunless you are a star wars freak. don't buy this, it is too big and is just a waste of space.
A Must Have For Any Star Wars Fanatic! This phone really does sound and look like R2D2; when it rings his head turns and lights up and he makes the classic R2 beeps and chirps that are easily recognizable. The handset is comfortable against your ear and the sound quality is as good as any traditional phone. One minor drawback is that the cord to the handset is too short so you have to sit right near the phone to use it. However, that's easily corrected by picking up a longer cord at any electronics store. Unfortunately for me, the phone was banished to the basement by my wife as it doesn't fit the decor of the rest of our house.
