TERRIBLE BATTERY
I BEEN TRUSTED PANASONIC FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS.....
UNTIL I OWNED THIS PHONE,I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTS.
I NEVER EVER BUY PANASONIC PRODUCTS AGAIN !!!

Great phone. What's the beef?
In reading the reviews on this phone, I couldn't help noticing that the bad reviews came in the middle of 2001, and the sole good review came at the end of 2001. I bought this phone at the end of last year as well, and I have had absolutely no problems with it. I leave the handset in the base all the time; I've taken it out, had one-hour-plus conversations on it, walked about 100ft from the base around building without losing signal, etc.

In short, I've had none of the problems associated with this phone. I'm guessing, but my sense of this is that maybe the phone's charging/battery system HAD a problem that was fixed on later models, starting with at least the end of 2001. You'll notice that even some of the bad reviews the buyers comment on the rich feature set, the cool looks, etc. All true. This really is an amazing phone.

The only reason I can't give the phone 5 stars is that programming the extra functions of the phone is a bit of a pain, counterintuitive, and you must have the manual handy to do it. However, for normal day-to-day use, it's a piece of cake.

PROS: Overwhelming feature set, cool looks, TWO (!) speakerphones, audio quality in base, range, small but comfortable handset

CONS: Difficulty in programming advanced functions; for some, small size of handset may be a negative (it's the size of a cell phone, and is hard to cradle with your neck if your hands are free; however, this is also one reason Panasonic built the second speakerphone into the handset -- PUT THE...HANDSET DOWN AND TURN ON ITS SPEAKERPHONE!! DUH!!) :-)

Four stars, richly deserved. ...it's a good deal.

No Problems for 2 years with this phone
This is by far the best phone system I've ever owned. Our family uses it constantly and the battery stays charged much longer than other cordless phones we've owned (and they've come and gone).

The caller ID functions well, the range is excellent, and the handset speakerphone is really excellent. The person on the other end is not even aware that you're not holding the phone to your ear.

This phone system design should be retained by the manufacturer and not messed up by changing it much at all. My only complaint is that the add-on handsets are nowhere to be found!

Unhappy owner!
This machine does not have a battery back up so if you have frequent power interuptions, do not buy it. You will lose your outgoing message and your time/date stamp every time. You can play back messages, but you have to hit repeat and play several times in an unknown sequence... I've just lucked out to get it to replay. It doesn't work the way the manual claims in this respect. And, my outgoing message doesn't sound like me according to callers and the incoming messages are so garbled we can hardly understand the message (which requires us to replay which is really frustrating -- see above). This is a terrible answering machine. Do not waste your money on it.

it's okay... at least it's digital
Since it was our first digital answering machine, anything could impress us! So basically it's easy to use and that's good enough for me, I'm not planning on replacing it anytime soon. My only complaint is that if there is a power outage, you lose the correct time and also the date,... so it's all off until you reset it.

Pleasant Surprise
After reading the horrible reviews on this answering machine I decided to take a chance. I've had it now for 2 months and I can honestly say it is the best answering machine I ever had. The sound is great, both incoming and outgoing, and it is very simple to program and operate. I especially like the remote features.

what? are you kidding?
I've had this phone for a year and the only complaint I have isthat the battery has worn out to the point where sometimes the handsetdies during a conversation... If the phone is left out ofthe cradle, the battery dies, and then the page button to find thephone is useless. But I love the digital answering machine and therange of the handset certainly covers my whole house and my yard.

Almost perfect
Good Reception. Great features. My friend has one and everytime i use it i wanna buy one of my own. Its a great Buy.

Perfect
I take this phone for granted, it always does the job it was designed to do. The phone has been left off the hook for days and never has died even though it is about 3 years old. I have messages that have been left on it going on a year and I can listen to them like they were left this morning. I can walk anywhere in my house and talk without a problem. I like this phone.

THE WORST PHONE EVER!
Please don't buy this phone unless you have nothing else to do but waste money. I got the phone at a really great price so I can't be too mad. The phone has terrible reception, and the battery dies too fast. I took the phone back after 2 days of using it. This was the worst phone that I have ever used!

AWFUL PHONE
The reception is horrible, the range is not even close to the manufacturer's claims, and it cuts in and out constantly. We have three other cordless phones in our home and we don't have the same problems. This phone is definitely a dud! Don't buy it or you'll be online shopping for another (just like I am today!!)

BUYER BEWARE!

Great as a Dust collector!
The only thing good I can say about this phone is the color. Nothing but static. There is a high pitched noise every few minutes while your on the phone, for no reason. Even on high for the volume control- you can barely hear a person and the buttons are so sensitve that you easily hang up on people if your check hits one of them!

Very disappointed!
I'm returning mine in the morning. Image quality is terrible in normal indoor light. In low light it's useless. Even the slightest movement is a blur on the screen. It looks cool and has a nice travel case, but if you want a functional camera, this isn't it. I'll stick with Intel.

Very bad product
Its been two days I've had this web-cam. Very dissapointing... I literally need to sit under a table lamp to to be able to see any pictures clearly. Under normal light, the recording is too dark -- to be visible.

I'm dumping this and buying a logitech tomorrow... Its not even worth 10 bucks.

acceptable
I've owned this cam for some months, and its perfect for me because I travel constantly. Yes, it struggles in low light (interior light, which is where one ususally is) like a digital camera, but if one turns on an additional lamp, the image is acceptable. It has a great, rugged little carrying case, and the whole cam is tiny; perfect for mobility. And, it's best characteristic...it is easy to use and very reliable. For lest than $50, I have not been tempted to return it.

    Disappointing
I bought this phone about 2 years ago. Just after the warantee was up the handset quit working so that I could no longer dial out. Recently the ringer stopped working and one of the alarm buttons works only intermittently. The AM receiver has only ever worked to pick up a station about 15 miles from me that transmits at 64000 watts. Anything else on AM frequency comes in staticy (is that a word?).

Disappointing sound then phone stopped working
The title says it all. We found the radio to sound pretty horrible as if the stations just could not be tuned well. The previous units (other brands) worked fine. Soon after, the caller ID stopped working. Then after almost a year, the phone stopped working. It's interesting how so few clock radio phones are available, and those that are seem to have low ratings.

    Excellent Product
I absolutly love this item. Phone sounds great. Radio has excellent reception and sound. Caller ID clear and works everytime. Have had it for a while with absolutely NO problems. Recommend to everyone. Even gave several as Christmas gifts and ALL are pleased.

Lots Of Features - Atrocious Sound Quality
When I use this phone, the response I get from people on the other end is huh? huh? What did you say?

At first I thought it was a bad connection. Then I thought maybe the listener had a hearing problem, but it's the same with everyone you talk to. In addition, it's difficult to hear on this phone if the person doesn't have a low and loud voice.

It's hard to imagine that AT&T doesn't have some sort of quality control system in place that would catch this and that they would actually go into production with it.

    Headset woes -- steer clear
I have had two of these within the last year. Functionally and in terms of sound quality, they have been fine -- but both went wacky. The first stopped working unless I used a headset; the headset jack on the second stopped working. I'm ready to try another brand.

    year and a half later
The sound quality is only acceptable. Most people on the receiving end say I sound very far away. Many of the phone base features are not set up in an obvious way. They almost require the manual. That's OK, but why not just make them easy to use?

    Now
The display is going out. It started about two months ago with a small amount of failure and has become progressively worse. Now I have to guess at what the display says.

    Worthless and Useless
Purchasing this telephone was a HUGE mistake. The battery died after six months and looking for a replacement battery is like trying to locate a needle in a haystack! When my microwave is in use; the telephone can't be in use - what's the connection? There is none! When a message is left, the telephone continues to beep every minute until the message is checked. The only purpose for this telephone: batting practice! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME - THIS TELEPHONE ISN'T WORTH IT!!

    Ugh
This is perhaps the worst electronics purchase I have ever made. The phone would sometimes auto answer from the base when you picked it up, sometimes not, so half the time you were either trying to talk into a ringing phone or inadvertently disconnecting someone when you pushed the talk button. A real design innovation. I once pushed the hold button when hanging up the phone, causing the line to be busy for about 12 hours. Why would the hold button stay engaged after a call is ended? It makes no sense. The static was deplorable after a while, and the phone was unusable if you ran the microwave. Was this product not tested? Finally couldn't stand it and replaced it after less than a year.

its a phone, and it does its job
you were expecting more? i dunno about those people living in cowtowns having trouble. no complaints here. yet, at least.
