GE and Thomson = Bad Customer Service and POOR Products
DisappointingI expected more when I moved to 2.4 GHz for a cordless phone. Sure, the range is good, BUT everytime the microwave oven is in use, this phone picks up static and you can't maintain a conversation. I would not buy again based on this problem. Too bad, because I liked the size of this phone and features such as a headphone jack and mute button.

A Piece of JunkJust had the 2nd phone fail on me today. Both had worked fine for about 6 months, then the handset failed for absolutely no reason. The answering machine part of it still works, but no dial tone on the handset.
Not Too BadThe sound quality of the hand set is excellent. The hand set is robust - dropped it on the floor several times with no problems. Phone controls easy to use. The one poor feature is the quality of the sound of the played back messages. Voices are garbled and difficult to understand. I've put up with this for about a year and a half and I'm looking for a new phone.

DO NOT BUY A NWB PHONEI do not have this model but after having my old phone for 40 years I bought a NWB phone due to remodeling. It lasted 5 months. You cannot get through on their help line and they do not answer their e-amil. Buy a NWB phone at your own risk.
ringer volumeUnder features description it states, "You can select loudness of each ringer." I did not find that to be true. On the four phones that I received there is a single on-off switch for ringer control not the individaul volume control as indicated under the features description. I will be retruning the phones. If I didn't need the individual volume control the phones would be satisfactory and a good value for the low price.

DissatisfiedI am very dissapointed with the transmitting and receiving range of the phone. The reception quality begins to degrade at about 25 feet. I can not use the phone at the opposite end of my small house! The voice quality is fair to good. I have been a die-hard Panasonic fan for years but after this and a seperate purchase of an unrelated Panasonic product (alarm clock) that I am dissapointed with, I am beginning to question all their products.
Nice features but major hissI bought this a few weeks ago and expected it to provide the same if not better quality than my old 900MHz Panasonic, which started dying prematurely after 3 years of little use, but I was surprised to find this phone to be worse than my old one. There's a constant loud hiss that can be heard when using the phone. I tested it against another 900MHz Panasonic at home and validated that it wasn't the phone line. In addition, the same loud hiss can be heard even with the intercom feature. I really like the built in lcd in the handset, which allows easy access to recently dialed numbers and a phone book but the quality of the call is more important to me than the features however nice they are; after all it is a phone! I'm not sure what to move on to now since it doesn't seem that manufacturers make 900Mhz anymore... oh well, the search continues.

OK Phone, Better Choices AvailableThis Sony phone, like most of the other models they make, works fine but the sound quality is "flat" and as a result long conversations tend to be difficult. I find the ergonomics (e.g., no lighted buttons, feel of the buttons, design of the headset) of Sony phones to be a notch or two below AT&T and Panasonic which is surprising because most of their other products are generally pretty good. As a phone in a room where you will not use it too much this is ok, but I'd suggest looking elsewhere for your primary phone.
The volume is too low.It is very hard to hear the other party's voice since the volume is simply too low.

DID NOT OWN UP TO IT'S NAMEI HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SATISFIED WITH V-TECH PRODUCTS UNTIL I BOUGHT THIS PHONE. IT DID NOT HOLD UP WELL AT ALL. I HAVE HAD IT LESS THAN A YEAR AND IT ALREADY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. KEYS ARE NO LONGER WORKING. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RANGE ALSO
Good, phone, some problems. This phone is good for putting in your bedroom, or im an office. I wouldn't recommend it for going long distances, or as your main house phone, due to the range. The main problem with this phone is that there is no headset plug... making it hard to type or do activitys that require use of your hands while talking on it. Other than that, this is a cool looking great phone for a kids bedroom, or small office, and is call waiting compatble.

Had this phone for 4 years until it just stopped working.4 years is not very long. I called AT&T on-line troubleshooting but they simply reiterate whats already in in the user manual and remind me its out of warranty.
AT&T usually makes excellent products. Not this time.

Very good except the range is terribleThis phone is almost perfect. It has all the features you might want, is easy to use, and priced reasonably.
Unfortunantly, it has the smallest range of any cordless phone I've ever tried. Even 15 feet from the base station my reception isn't perfect. At 75 feet it is unusable.
Two caveats: I haven't checked the manual to see if there is a magic incantation that's required to get it to work properly. I have only played with two base stations and three handsets so I may have just had bad luck.
GE (Thomson) gave us this phone after 6+ months of unanswered phone calls, emails and just plain BAD customer service. The first phone (a different model) made by GE (Thomson) and given to us as a gift broke while under warranty. After months of ball dropping on Thomson's part we finally received this phone, model number 27931GE7. We are unhappy with the sound quality- on a scale of 1 to 5 its a 2. And, the worst part is the headset; it's the WORST design I have seen. It's an ergonomic nightmare. If you plan on moving your head while using this headset forget it, it will fall off. And, the mic rests on your cheek halfway between your nose and your ear. On a scale of 1 to 5 I give a 0. Maybe it was designed first as a toy for a small child then someone thought, "Hey this would make a great headset". Just plain bad.
Also, GE phones are not made by GE... they are made by Thomson. In an economy where bad companies go under and good ones survive this is one that you hope will go under. Oh and by the way, if you want any help from GE, forget it. They claim that they have nothing to do with the phones. Funny though, their name is written all over it. GE should be ashamed of themselves and Thomson, well they should consider hiring at least one industrial designer with some useful knowledge and know-how if they have any desire of surviving as a company.
