Go Video quality is poor ...
Disappointing User InterfaceSecondly, there is a critical flaw in their 'human factors' when they designed the remote control: While playing DVD's or CD's, to fast-forward, you have to press and hold the fast-forward button. If you just press the button quickly, it resets the movie to the beginning. What a pain in the neck.
Third: I still haven't figured-out how to change the display to show the track and time for a CD. The default is a counter that counts the seconds of the song, but you have no idea what song you're on.
As a Mechanical Engineer, the poor human-factors design of this remote gives our profession a bad name!
Amazing DVD Player for playing DVD+/-RThis unit really shines when it comes time to play DVD+R and DVD-R discs recorded on a home computer. I had VHS video tapes that I recorded to my computer and then transferred to blank Verbatim DVD-R discs. I also have one movie on a DVD+R disc. This DVD player plays them flawlessly, while other brands may not play these discs at all.
This unit is an excellent bargain and functions better than other brands I tested. Other brands I tested were Emerson (which could not play DVD-R), Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung and KLH. The KLH plays DVD-R and DVD+R and is also very expensive, but the Go Video unit is the least expensive of the combo DVD/VCR units that I have actually used that can play everything I put into it.

don't waste your money on a Samsung HT-SK5After 3 months of dealing with Samsung's poor technical support, including shipping the product back to Samsung, I learned from Samsung that they can't fix the problem, and they don't have a replacement product that would work better. The only thing more frustrating than the audio sync problem was Samsung's awful technical support. The staff was poorly educated about their own products, they never returned calls or e-mail like they promised, and seemed to have no concern for their customers. Don't waste your money--in fact, Samsung treated me so poorly, I can't recommend buying any Samsung products.
Agree on the product, but LOVE the supportLike thousands other videophilles, I also am a proud owner of the 61" Samsung DLP. I must say, I (and thosands of others) seem to all agree that sammy's customer support are 5 out of 5 top notch and none better.
In this day and age, saying you will never buy samsung product is like saying you will never buy a
Porsche form that garage again because they couldn't fix your metro geo.
EDIT:
Apparently, they run special divison for their high enb products. I call in about a problem with their 400 dvd player and I was treated with the same great services as with my 5 grand TV. However, my first call was made via a google-searched 800 number, and that was horrible. If you want good service, call the speical number provided with the warrenty card. Seems they only want to roll out their "5 star support" for ones with deeper pockets.

Give me a break
Product is Great, But Brand Leaves alot to be desired!7030 has same specs. as the 7811 but, alot of nicer features, you can now remove the battery pack to charge or play the dvd without it attached by using power cord. Better sound, same EXCELLENT quality picture. Govideo did tell me had I purchased from amazon or other authorized dealer, they would replace the unit free. Ya live and learn and thanks for 2 DAY FREE SHIPPING AMAZON!

Poor performance, rude tech supportI bought a much newer laptop, a Pentium III 500 MhZ with 320 MB RAM and 4 GB VRAM: way, way above the requirements. Worked marginally in Windows 2000, but XP did not like the driver when I updated. Tried several different drivers off their confusing download page, no luck.
So I call their tech support. The guy starts spitballing stuff at me ('try this driver', 'try that driver'), clearly at random. I had turned off AutoPlay, which I've heard can cause problems, and turned off digital audio. These had both improved the play of DVD's, but not much. He never even mentioned these steps. I politely asked for the issue to be escalated, he began screaming at me, inexplicably accusing me of demanding a new driver (which I never did, though it's not a bad idea), and hung up in my face. I called back, got the same guy, he again began screaming at me, told me there wsa no one but him working at EXP, called me a fool, and hung up on me.
So, if you enjoy being screamed at, lied to, abused, and personally insulted, you can hang around with my ex-fiancee, or you can buy a product from EXP. Both are about equally painful.

what a mistake. NEVER AGAIN
Great for a year, then: IMPLOSION
Panasonic a great productThe owners manuel is an encyclopedia (lol) but pretty easy to follow. To be honest the hardest part was converting the Panasonic remote control. I still haven't figured out how to make the cable remote work on the Panasonic remote. But that being the only problem. The picture and options on this television is fantastic. I have a 52" TV in the living room and I watch the Panasonic.A great buy............
