A good one!
In addition to having an exceptional picture this is an excellent Projection TV in the 4 by 3 aspect ratio. Bear in mind that term: 4 by 3. Don't pass this one up! Instead manufacturers are moving toward the 16 by 9 aspect ratio. For conventional (4 by 3) antenna, cable or satellite TV broadcasts and VHS playback this is the one of a handful of the best Projection sets available. Get them while they are still around, 4 by 3 aspect ratios that is. Many people going with the 16 by 9 sets are not happy because there are very few HD signals out there at least for the next 4 or 5 years the way things look. 4 by 3 is the way to go right now. People are complaining because when viewing a widescreen program on a 4 by 3 set you get black bars on the top and bottom. On 16 by 9 sets you get black bars on the left and right sides of the screen all the time unless you watch a wide screen program! That means that you are going to get black bars on the sides for over 90 percent of what you are going to be watching for the next 5 or 6 years. Apparently, the FCC, the major Broadcasting Networks and Cable companies still can't agree on how they are going to broadcast High Definition Television signals. And that decision does not look like it is gong to be made any time soon! Stay with the 4 by 3 aspect ratio like this Projection set has. You can't go wrong and you will be much happier. Many people are returning currently purchased 16 by 9 projection sets according to an area dealer because they dislike the black bars on the right and left. A good one by Mitsubishi!

Get All the Screen You Paid For with a 4 by 3
The current television market is in a state of flux. We keep hearing about HDTV or High Definition Television but what does it all mean to you? High Definition Television refers to a complete product and/or system with the vertical display of 1080i (interlaced) or higher lines of resolution. The aspect ratio has to be capable of displaying a 16:9 image at the minimum resolution level. (All HDTV is in the 16:9 image). The current standard for color television in the United States is called NTSC (National Television System Committee). It is based on 525 horizontal scanning lines capable of displaying a 4:3 image. Many cable companies are resisting the change to HDTV and want to carry only the NTSC standard. The FCC wants the networks to start broadcasting HDTV but they are now also resisting because they can't settle on a conversion system. Currently satellites are carrying a few HDTV signals, but they are far and few in number and show little signs of increasing. Don't forget HDTV signals have to be converted so you can watch them. Then you have Television manufactures who are getting way ahead of themselves. Many are pushing the HDTV formatted screen on most of their projection sets, which is 16:9. If you are still watching cable TV, VHS videos and Laserdiscs you are in big trouble. You are only going to get a picture in the center of your 16:9 set with big black bars on the sides. The best way to go is with a 4:3 projection set, like this one, which is going to give you the full frame. You are going to get the entire screen you paid for.

A note on reliability.
I bought the original Mitsubishi model 7000 in 1991. It was our first projection set and became the centerpiece of our home theater. I bought the extended 3 year warranty, as I figured anyone in the TV repair business who spots one of these behemoths out of warranty is booking cruise tickets as soon as he pulls out of your driveway. Anyway, the 7000 series has been improved in many ways (better screen, better connectability, now 2 tuner P-I-P, etc), but I wanted to let you know that in these 10 years, it has *NEVER* needed a repair of any kind! It still looks great and gives me no good excuse to buy a new one. Enjoy!

I bought the Samsung TV online from amazoone.com, 14 " flat, it works great, the remote control has great features, easy to use.

the shipping in fact took only 5 days, and was delivered w/o problems. i only noticed a smalld ent, probably from shipping, to the tv frame.

great to go with the tv is the samsung dvd for less then 60 dollars. great combination guys.
i know good quality, when i see it. buy the combo w/o hesitattion, i did, and it is comapct, sheap and excellent quality.

Great choice and great price!
I purchased this for my children's play room to be utilized for video games and watching movies. I'd read that smaller screens are better for children's eyes when playing video games. I was worried the 14" would appear to small but it is just perfect. I compared it to the larger screens in the store and this one had a much sharper picture as it wasn't distorted in the least due to it's perfect size. Even the 16" version of this TV wasn't as sharp as this one. It's perfect if it's a small room like we have - it's probably too small for a bigger room for just regular TV viewing. It's very aesthetically appealing with a very contemporary look. We are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend it to others as well. We have a much larger TV in another room and it's the 14" Samsung that they always want to watch!

Great TV for the price
I needed a new Television for my home theater, but didn't want to break the bank until the HDTV standards get themselves sorted out. With that in mind I went w/ the 27 inch Deluxe Stereo TV from Toshiba and am very pleased with the results. The television has 3 AV ins (2 rear and 1 side), a component DVD in and S-Video so there is plenty of room for all your home theater and gaming components. Another nice feature is built-in sound and video settings depending on the style of media you're watching (i.e. Movie, News, Sports, etc...) The sound is adequate for price of the system (although I prefer to run it through my home theater system) and the picture is crisp. As a final testimony, my wife who is not an electronics expert and who is rarely impressed by my toys came down to my home theater room and expressed, Wow, you got a flat screen TV. It looks great. Well, it wasn't a flat screen, but it did look great... at a fraction of the price.

great tv!
ive had this tv for a few days. i must say i am very impressed. it has sweet features without being overly complicated. i say hello to it whenever i come home. its name is fred or freddy. the ONLY complaint i have, thus far, is that when changing channels it does not display the time. u can push the display button to show the time, but id prefer the time show up every time i change the channel. the picture is crisp and there are a ton of useful options. i love fred! fred loves me! im going to go spend some quality time with fred right now. oh fred, im coming fred! be right there! buh bye.

Amazing Picture Quality
I just bought this TV recently and I must say the Analog quality is far superior than a Sony WEGA. The picture is deep, clear, and down right amazing!

An Excellent TV
When I began my search for a 36 inch TV, I was amazed to see the abundance of new hi tech models, at very high prices. I wanted to pay less than $1000, including a TV stand, which left me with only a few alternatives. Eventually, I narrowed down my choices to the Panasonic CT36E13, the RCA F36650, the Toshiba 36A43 and the Sharp 36C231 (the same model as the 36C230, but in black and grey). The Panasonic was about $100 more expensive than the other three, so I decided to focus on the others. In comparing the pictures of the three remaining candidates, the RCA and the Sharp looked brighter than the Toshiba. The Sharp was a more attractive looking TV and was a little less expensive than the RCA so I went with the Sharp. It was an excellent decision. The picture on the Sharp is good on TV broadcasts, but it really shines on DVD's when you use its component video inputs. It has a 16:9 setting for playing widescreen dvd's, which few TV's in its price range have. Another positive feature of this TV is that the screen is almost flat. From a regular viewing distance, you don't notice any curvature of the screen. I had heard that sound quality on Sharp TV's is poor, but that is not the case with this model, as the sound quality is all right.

All in all, I am pleased with my purchase and recommend this TV.

The picture was disappointing right out the box and still is
When I first turned this Samsung on, my nephew, who had helped me lift it to the top of a chest of drawers in the bedroom, commented how poor the picture was. Being 58, I was reluctant to agree with a 23-year-old about the product of a carefully researched purchase, but he was right. The whites were blooming. The picture was fuzzy and had a purple cast. I wanted a larger set to replace a 13" set in the bedroom. The 16" Samsung seemed the perfect in-between size, being 3" narrower than a 20" set and having a flat screen. Its size allowed room for a DVD-VCR combo along side it on the chest of drawers. Over the past few weeks, I have fiddled with the contrast, brightness, sharpness, color, and tint, and have made the picture more tolerable. Unfortunately, I have two Sony sets (13" and 32") and, no matter what I do, I can't get the Samsung to look anywhere near as good as the Sony sets. On the Samsung, the dark scenes are still too dark, detail is lost in the shadows. The picture looks too flat without definition. The skin tones are rarely correct. Right now, I'm trying to figure a way to add 3" to the top of the chest of drawers so I can accommodate a Sony KV-20FS100 for $260.

Many features, good quality, low price
Installing a JVC N40-BK DVD player, I found that a 14 year old Sharp 13" color TV lacked the connections, so this model topped my comparison of the 14-19" category. Stereo speakers do not sound tinny, and the picture quality is great! We did discover that the colors changed during "Finding Nemo" but found the cause to be video cables not pushed in completely. My only complaint remains with the shipper(s)as the top of the plastic housing had buckled in transit, but loosening the cover screws, we fixed that. Later comparison of larger sets finds me placing this set above the majority of those for price and features. Cable connections are very tight, so be sure the cables are completely pushed on, since they can feel secure without making good contact. This is a great set for a small room.

Poor color, poor quality, don't bother
Samsung makes a lot of good products, but this isn't one of them. The color is so unnatural it can't be corrected. Mine developed an electrical problem and, after 3 services in 6 months, I told them to keep it. The color problem wasn't unique to my defective set, either. I auditioned this model at Circuit City and their floor model had the same problem. With the flat screen and numerous inputs, I thought I'd picked a winner. I was wrong!

Caveat Emptor! Buyer Beware!
I bought this model for the value, look and seeming quality. I was very excited to get it and immediately set it up. I was very disappointed to find that a distinct buzzing/humming noise comes from the back of the set. It is definitely loud enough to disturb your TV experience, especially in a quiet room/area.
At first, I thought it was just a defect on that particular set but that is not the case. I exchanged it for another of the same model and found the exact same problem. Although it is easy to use and the picture quality is pretty good, the sound of that buzz killed all the good stuff. I exchanged it for a more expensive model and am now waiting for my Sony to arrive. I see others have commented on this problem for other "inexpensive" brands/models. Good luck!

bang!
Had it for a month, liked it for the most part, but the picture seemed a bit shaky... after a month or so, there was a loud static crack and the picture went out. I don't think I would be comfortable recommending this model.
