One year update.
THE LOW COST IS GREAT!I was looking for a tv for my kitchen and came upon this tv in Amazon's Gold Box Deals. I couldn't pass up the price as the cheapest one I had on my wish list was twice the price of this tv. This baby has a great picture and all the features I need for a 3rd in the house, not-extensively used tv. I like it a lot and would recommend it to all.
Great Compact TVThis is a great TV. I bought it to replace a 20" Wega that was too big for my bedroom. It's design is much nicer than the normal "black box," with nice silver-grey features. The side and back A/V inputs are great, as most small TV's are lucky to have just one. The A/V outputs are great, except that the audio is only sent out in mono, so therefore you'll only get one speaker playing sound on a HiFi stereo like mine. The picture is awesome, and exceeds the two other 13-inchers in my house (one GE and the other a Sharp). Although you don't get the brand name, you get better features, PRICE (anywhere from 20 to 75 dollars difference), and a better picture. My one gripe is the power button, oddly enough. It actually pushes in deep, reminiscent of TV's where you had to push in the volume switch for power. Also, you can't turn the TV all the way off with the remote, only to standby; which is identical to off, except a miniscule red light on the front. While it doesn't bother me, since it is no larger than a pinhole and projects barely any light, it might bother others. Oh, and one more thing, the inputs and outputs do tend to "wiggle" a bit, but they are completely functional. This TV perfect for bedrooms and dorms, especially if you want to hook up multiple devices, and if you like better quality forless money.

PICTURE LOOKING GREAT!!!!!Don't judge this TV by its cheap look, judge it by its screen resolution and picture quality. I have owned Casio's models 970 and 880. They don't have as many pixels as the 550. The brightness and picture quality is superior when you put them side to side. The 550 has TFT active matrix screen while the others have passive matrix. The TFT is better under all light conditions, even under direct sun light. If you really want a TV that is good both outdoors and indoors don't buy a passive matrix tv. Get ready to have lots of fresh batteries or buy the AC adaptor from casio's website. I would not recomend getting those universal AC adaptors out there, even if you set them up to match the handheld specifications, it can eventually burn your screen and your TV won't turn on again. The warranty doesn't cover this kinda thing since you are not using casio's certified AC adaptor. Believe me, it happened to me once and I have heard a lot of sad stories of dead handeld TV's once they are hooked to generic adaptors. SO, play safe, take care of your investment and enjoy!!!!
great pictureGreat picture as long as receiption is good. Traveling in the car is another story. I don't have the car antenna, this might help. It blows through batteries also. But, still a good golf cart addition.
Very Nice ProductActive Matrix-good picture and reception. Don't buy any product unless it is active matrix. For the extra $50- buy the Casio three inch model.

All the features @ half-priceThis television is manufactured in China, so I thought of the worse case scenario: manual in Chinese, no remote, not cable-ready, with foreign power cord. But I was pleasantly relieved. TV had remote, english manual, standard power cord, and was cable-ready. The price was the best feature, not to mention it's the cutest tv you'll ever see with it's deep blue color. I'm definitely pleased.
Konka 13" TV great buyi have recently bought this tv, it was a great buy. there is great color, its easy to use and set up, and it arrived at my house in three days! i would definately recomend buying this tv
Sweet Deal!If you are looking for a small tv, look no further. This item shows quality and a very nice price. Has two speakers & a/v jacks. Only slight negative is: no antenna included....

RCA lives up to its well deserved reputationDelivering high quality at a low price! This RCA Televisivion has all the bells and whistles and is worth every penny!
Excellent ProductThis television has amazing image quality for a 13 inch television. I've ran DVD's, videotapes, video games, cameras, and everything else imaginable through it and they all show up with excellent color and quality. Sometimes it seems that the volume fluctuates (how loud a certain spot on the volume bar is seems to change) but I'm guessing that's just my cable provider. Overall, a great value at under $100.
Nice Features for small TVI wanted a new tv for my room and picked up this one because of the av hookups, the brand and the price. It also looked pretty cool too. The child lock on the front should be on ALL tvs. The commerical skip buttons is cool too.

Great Little TVI too compared this to a Sony flat screen, and the Toshiba wins hands down. Great colors and the flat screen doesn't reflect as much light as a conventional screen. Sound is okay, but you can plug any sound system into the comprehensive audio jacks. It's light and easy to move around. Remote layout is good. Great purchase!
Best Small Screen TV Out ThereI was looking for a flat screen TV that I could afford for my dorm room in college but one that also had a sharp, clear picture. This Toshiba is definitely all that. On it, you can see movies the way they were meant to be seen. With the component video input connected to your DVD player, the color quality is amazing. I also couldn't find a Sony Wega 13 inch that had the component video feature included. This is the perfect small size TV - a great stepping stone towards larger TVs.
Excellent Product...If I could Purchase ItThis Toshiba TV has great color, plenty of a/v jacks, and is a great value for a flat screen TV. I've seen this TV's picture, the color and clarity is everything one would want, or need in a small flat screen TV. It has a picture than is equal, if not better than the much higher priced SONY models. I would recommend you buy it...if you could, but, you can't. The 14AF41 has been replaced by the 14AF42, which is essentially the same TV as far as I can tell. I own the "42" and think it is the best TV in my house (and all my TV's are fairly new). If you are looking for a smaller screen TV, make no hesitation, buy the Toshiba today (or tonight!!!!).

OK, but not matching features on product pageWell, I got this TV for my dorm room. It's got good picture and sound, definitely better than some larger TVs... but, Amazon lists front/rear a/v in. There is no front a/v. So, if that's important to you, you may want to get something else. Also, while the TV has two speakers, it only has mono sound, but since it is a smaller TV I wouldn't expect anything fancy. And the V-Chip doesn't work with most programs. But if you're looking for a good TV for watching TV on, this is a good pick.
Best TV for kids room! This little TV is great. We needed a TV for our daughters room and after looking around, this one was in the right price range and the right size. It has fantastic picture and sound, and a lot of menu options like sleep mode and a clock, to name a couple. For the price and quality...this TV should be your top choice as a bedroom or kitchen set.
INEXPENSIVE BUT GREAT COLORDO NOT LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU! THE COLOR IS JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN THE MORE EXPENSIVE IN THIS SIZE. DON'T HESITATE TO BUY!

Excellent ValueWasn't for sure what I was getting myself into. I'm used to watching a huge projection TV at home. This little TV is a very good buy. Colors are vivid and the A/V input is great. I was a little thrown off when I first turned it on, because I saw this bar going across the screen. But as I soon realized, it was the tuner searching for a channel. Much better than fumbling with a little analog dial. The sound isn't booming, but what do you expect from such a compact device. It was very clear and easy to hear without any distortion at any level. The only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars is because it should have at least come with the AC adapter...
One of the best in It's categoryA very good product. Because of TFT technology, screen clarity is very very good. I used a Casio TV 7500 for a long time, but this ones' screen is far better. I have got 2 sets of NiMH batteries (1700 mA) and they last about 2 hours. There is only one thing that I miss, preset channels.
Addendum to my previous review...The Casio ev-4500 is now available. 4 inch active matirx. Slim hand-held. I don't know what battery life will be like but this is now the ultimate portable handheld TV (although the 660 is still a great product).

Wow ... Nice Sound ... So Small!I received the Jensen MR-400 today (15Nov02) and was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I did was put the batteries in wrong, so ensure that you do not do that, or they will ruin the unit ... luckily I took them out quickly.
The reception is GREAT and the TV works amazingly well ... uses only two AA size batteries ... better reception than my much larger and more expensive Sony AM/FM/TV radio.
Wow ... it is so small ... you will be amazed at its size. After using it today at the river listening to my favorite TV program, I am impressed because I was 25 miles from the station out in the boonies.
I will update this later if it should prove warranted.
Good Luck,

greatthis is a great little radio for the price.
it sounds like a radio costing ten times more.
i highly recommend it.

A Bargain RadioPocket sized AM/FM radios with TV audio are not very easy to find and are often quite expensive, so it was a delight to find this little gem and at this price too. It proves that inexpensive doesn't always mean poor performance or quality. The sound is great and it is able to pick up distant stations that our other pocket sized radios can't. The quality of construction is as good as radios costing a good bit more. I highly recommended this Radio.

Great little TV!We bought this TV for my 11 year old son for his birthday. He has always wanted a TV for his bedroom. He loves it, it is just perfect, good picture, good sound, easy remote, nice size for the bedroom and even looks cool, he likes the colors. Good Deal.
Great features for a small package! For a portable tv of this size, it has a lot of good features. A/V inputs, remote w/batteries, dual speakers, (one on each side), closed-captioning option, very good picture.....EVEN a timer! Was surprised to see all of this for a small pricetag! This tv is a super value.
The CompanyKonka is the biggest TV manufactuer in China(One of the bigger DVD makers too). China as the biggest TV market(and one of the biggest electronic market) in the world is also the most competitive market with all the Japanese and domestic companies fighting over it. Konka made their name in China with quality and price, winning customers back from Sony and Panasonic and Toshiba and JVC, going from a tiny outfit ten years ago to one of the biggest company in China, and now they are in the US! It's a exciting fresh force in the US electronic landscape. But because of its novelty, and lack of promotion, not much American people know it. But trust me, they sell tens of millions of TV sets(and other electronics) in China every year, they are famous and big, and they can be trusted.
My little office TV went out and I thought I'd bring it in for repair... but then for not much more, I got a brand new TV with better features than the old one. Side-mounted AV inputs are a keen idea, and 3 different picture settings (custom, theater, normal) are pretty luxe for such a bargain TV. The dual front-firing speakers sound good (though this is not a stereo TV). Naturally, set-up was a no-brainer, and picture quality is quite acceptable. My only little note of dissatisfaction is the apparent inability to set the closed captioning to appear only when the sound is muted, but I'll manage without that I'm sure.
