Good and Bad news
Great TV for the priceI had been frustrated at the local retailers who only seemed to offer an RCA TV that I had misgivings about. I also didn't feel like spending big dollars for a TV that gets 5 hours of use per week. I had seen the Phillips 9" TV at the local Best Buy, but the only unit they had left was an open box unit that was missing it's power cord and was priced at $.... I took a chance on ordering a reconditioned unit thorough Amazon. I figured if it didn't work out, I could always return it. When it arrived, it looked new. There were no physical flaws. Setup took less than ten minutes. The picture tube is nice and bright, with excellent resolution. The only drawback with the set is that the it's signal sensitivity is only fair. If you are connecting to cable or an outdoor antenna this will present no problem to you. My home has aluminum siding, making indoor reception a little challenging. I found that the included monopole antenna was adequate but not as good as I would have liked. I am a TV broadcast engineer by profession, so I tend to be a little more critical than most. In any case, I was able to improve reception dramatically by substituting a pair of rabbit ear antennas (you know , the old type with two rods that stick up) that I had lying around. You can buy a cheap pair of rabbit ears at any Radio Shack. Now I get very good reception and an excellent picture. Even my cynical 16 year old son was impressed. With shipping, the whole TV cost around $.... I think this an excellent value.
Exceeded my expectations

Quit working right after the warranty was upAfter about 3 weeks of this, the television set decided to never power up again. I only had the television for a little over a year, and it doesn't work.
The commercial skip feature does not actually detect when commercials are over. It is merely a timer. You have to guess how long the commercials will last. The set will return you to the station you were watching after the set duration of time has elapsed.
Also, if you're sensitive to high-pitch squealing (picture tube arc), this television set does emit a louder noise than most. It was quite difficult to fall asleep with this television on because it emitted a louder-than-usual (compared to other television sets) high-pitched squeal. This is often a sign of a poorly manufactured power supply -- which is probably the reason the set no longer will power on.
For a television set, save the hassle, and get a JVC, Toshiba, Sony or some other brand, that will continue functioning after the warranty has expired.
decent picture, poor reliability

Q Radio and LCD Problem
It's Just NiceUnusually, it also has selectivity and sensitivity to match its other strengths. It picks up weak and distant stations as it should (and as most radios unfortunately don't), making it useful in rural areas, while camping, and so on. It might not be quite as good as the GE Superadio III in this regard, but it's close, has some good features the GE doesn't, and it tunes much more easily. On the other hand, if you're REALLY out in the boonies, external antennas can help you catch the weakest signals; and while the GE has terminals for both AM and FM external antennas, the Q Radio has AM antenna jacks only.
This is a radio with a clock, not a clock radio. If you want to use it as a clock radio only, its display will disappoint you; it is angled upward, making it hard to see when it's at eye level as on a bedside table, and it can't show the radio frequency and the time at once. However, it does sound far better than any clock radio I've ever had. In special circumstances, the fact that the Q Radio will still wake you on time even if power fails, or is not available at all, may lead you to prefer it to the more usual clock radios.
Although easy to operate, many of its controls have multiple functions. This can be slightly confusing at first. However, they're pretty thoroughly labeled, so you shouldn't have any trouble figuring them out.

Poor design AND poor functionalityFirst, the controls are totally counterintuitive. Instead of a "play" button, there's a "direction switch" button, which happens to also work as "play" (I actually had to look through the instructions to figure out how to play a tape!!)
Next, the controls are on the front, and are just small buttons which tend to get pressed by mistake if the unit happens to be in a pocket. Terrible design, unintuitive, and forces you to have to look at the unit in order to do anything - you can't operate it by feel as the buttons are too small to feel with your finger.
Finally, maybe I got a lemon, but in 3 of the total of 6 times I've used the unit so far, during operation (both radio and tape) I would hear a loud beep, and the the unit would either turn off or switch directions on my tape - for no reason. The unit was lying untouched on a flat surface at the time. No idea what was going on, and particularly annotying while trying to listen to a meditation tape.
It is true that the unit is very light, which is a big plus, and the sounds seems to be decent. But I'd happily sacrifice the sound a bit for faultless and intuitive operation... Very disappointing.
Do not buy this unless you have better than 20/20 vision
Suitable for exercise1. There's an attachment point for a wrist strap, but oddly enough I didn't see the 5 cent nylon wrist strap in the package. I passed a very slender nylon pull tie through it and then locked on a metal key ring. I can use that to attach the device to gear.
2. It comes with a very lightweight unpadded nylon jacket with a belt clip. The clip is worthless (slides off a belt) but I threaded a thin nylon climbing belt through the jacket and it's easy to carry this way.
3. It has a remote with an somewhat longish cord. Looks promising if one keeps the cord bundled up safely. I used another nylon tie for that.
4. It's made in Malaysia (I think that's where SONY's better quality stuff is made now).
5. It's VERY light -- feels empty. That's good.
6. The included headphones are not appropriate for exercise. Most people use earbuds or the ultralight over the head earphones (same style as in the poorly reviewed SONY sport). So budget another $10-15 for exercise headphones if you don't have any on hand.
Seems to be about the best available device for exercise on the market nowadays.

Very handy, but too small.Very handy, portable. You can lift up the screen, and tuck it out of the way when it isn't in use. Works great in the kitchen, but don't expect to sit down and watch TV. Only practicle for those who listen to TV more than they watch it.
Great Set, but where's the security camera? My only serious gripe: there seems to be no way to aquire the optional security camera, which was one of its nicest selling points (its listed on the box). I have even emailed Audiovox with no response. Judging from the products listed on Audiovox's website, this TV and all accessories have been discontinued, so beware. I'm still glad I got it. ...

1 OV THE BEST CD PLAYERS
This is a great Player, highly recommendedAs for playing CD's, it has never failed me. Not once, not ONCE has this player skipped. For background info, although it does not say so, it is really water resistant. (I am a member on a swim team that goes to long 1 week away meets almost once a month, and this player goes with me EVERYWHERE. To the pool, hotel, restaurants, everywhere I have dropped it a few (to say the least...) times, and it played great afterwards.))
The headphones, are, erm... not the greatest. (Since I gave it 5 stars, all of the other good features out-weighed the bad ones...)They sound fine, but i do recommed getting new ones. (you don't have to spend a lot either, i am currently using Koss KSC-50's, wich sound GREAT, and they were only $13)
The sounds that the player picks up on the sound are incredible. really. I am currently using Good Charlotte 'The Young and the Hopeless' and one track 4, you can hear the guitars as if they were right near you. You can hear their fingernails plucking the strings. ( Its not a bad thing, they sound so much better!) The on thing I do have to point out is the bass. IT IS OUTSTANDING!
The only other thing I complain about is the ambsence of a clip or hand strap, but i bought one and it works fine.
I highly recommend this player. (It is ANYTHING BUT flimsy..... no hard feelings!)

Bad News -- Connected to an antenna instead of cable the UHF channels show the wrong channel number. Some TV's have a setting to correct this. The FM tuner doesn't search automatically or save channel settings. Thus, it is not convienent to use with more than one channel. These are both very minor shortcommings that can easily be ignored. Unfortunately, the TV emmits a very annoying high pitch noise that my 16 yr old son can easily hear. It is probably the horizontal scan mechanism radiating noise at 15,750 cycles per second. For this reason we are regretfully returning the TV.
