Pretty cheap productIn addition to the product being dented and partially non-functional on arrival, the manufacture quality appeared just plain cheap. Built-in speakers are smaller than they appear, and have a 60-cycle hum. Disc tray rattles and feels fragile. Remote control not ergonomic in design and not intuitive to use.
On the other hand... it is the cheapest TV-DVD I've seen. It has the typical array of DVD outputs on the back so you can connect to your 5.1 audio system. By the way, this would be a good match with the $55 Durabrand 7-Piece Home Theater Audio System, HT-395 (...)

Never again
Decent Experience
Not bad for the moneyFor the price you cannot beat.
I did notice a little curve in the picture at the bottom of the screen but I am very picky and most people would not even notice.
The DVD's look very sharp like it has component hookups internally.
The picture could be a little better watching TV through cable but that could be my line.

2 out of 3 ain't bad.within weeks of purchase. Fortunately the set has inputs for a new dvd player which I had to buy separately. Overall I like the set, though it is frustrating that one of it's major features was worthless--a risk you take when you buy any combo tv.
Remote control

Unreliable and poor warrantybroke, making the DVD player unusable. Also, after 90 days
the warranty doesn't cover labor charges. Not recommended.
THE DIFFICULT REMOTE RUINS IT1) TV functions are secondary and written in an indecipherable watery-orange ink. Difficult! 2) Essential TV functions are crammed together. A total of 27 buttons reside on an area less than 2 x 2 inches. The mute key is lost 4 down and 4 over, while an arcane "input/select" is directly under the large power button. Difficult! 3) The Numeric keypad is an after-thought, located 2 down under a quizzically prominent information key. Further, once you find the pad there is no raised #5-key to center your fingers within the 1 x 1 allotted inches. Difficult! 4) AAA batteries? This is the only product in my house that requires them. Difficult!
If you can't use the remote why buy the product?
Toshiba MD14FP1 TV/DVD combinationI purchased this because it takes DVD/R which is difficult to find. All the reviews and press releases mentions this. The directions do not. I tried a DVD/R immediately upon arrival and it played very well.
The directions make noreference of hooking the set up the a satellite dish. It would have been helpful

Perfect for Bedroom, space saving, but remote [is bad]!The tv picture is fine, clear, no waviness. So far the DVD and VCR work well and the sound is good. I haven't purchased any other combo's before, so I can't compare. Still, I'm a person that tends to return things at the drop of a hat if I'm not wholly satisfied, and I'm returning this due to the pain in the rear remote and lack of 'last channel' feature, which I tend to use often.
Great ValueOne nice feature is the DVD player's ability to read JPEG files allowing you to use the unit for slide shows of your favorite digital pictures.
I'm Very Satisified With This Product

low sound/volume when playing dvd's
Panasonic PV-DF2700In addition, you can hear the DVD humming when it is playing.
The TV picture tube has been replaced once and is now on the fritz again. It will suddenly go black (no signal) or just loose the signal and play "snow" or just come and and out of focus. Debugging this one is tough. I do not recommand it as a TV or DVD player.
Video adjust probs
One downside of these pure flat screen TV's is that they are H-E-A-V-Y. Make sure you get a heavy-duty TV stand that is rated for it's weight or you may find this weight crashing down on you or a loved one.
Personally, I prefer a separate DVD player so if it goes bad, you don't have to haul this heavy TV into the shop.
Compare to Sony Wega.
