Not good if you live in the basement
Great Reception
Good amplificationCaution: cranking the amplification to maximum enhances FM radio reception, but seems to overload the reception of TV channels, which become distorted unless you turn it down to about 90% amplification.
Comparisons: I compared this product to another Terk amplified antenna shaped as two diamonds, which claimed that it did not need to extend to great lengths as rabbit ears to deliver a good picture. The Recoton TV575 delivered better picture than the Terk.
Recoton's next step up, the TV600 antenna, has less UHF amplification power, so I did not go for it even though it was just $10 more...

Doesn't stand up to use
Cool & Functional
Solid constructionThe shelves are off center which gives it a strange look when the doors are shut, maybe i'm a little picky.
This item is heavy but easy to construct.
Look at the dimensions carefully it is taller than i thought the Picture made it look.

It died after 10 months
Great replacement for my 25" tvStereo works well, and also will automatically turn on the closed captioning when you mute the volume.
S video conenction, regular coax ("cable tv") and 1 set of RCA jacks, but no audio output.
This is a "generic" Panasonic, so it has the same black picture tube as the much more expensive Panasonics, but fewer bells and whistles overall.
One of the biggest selling points to me was that the screen is MUCH flatter than anything else in this price range. All the other stereo tvs at this price looked like fishbowls. In fact, even on its own, it is a relatively flat screen, which makes a big difference.
The comb filter seems to have made a huge difference in picture sharpness over my old tv.
great entry level tv with upgraded connectionsGreat black/white seperation. Comes with timer and the ability to label channels with text.
it fits in the same space that my old 25" tv used to sit.

big, clunky, hard to use. This is a device that's designed for one apparent use: to hold in your hand (a large hand; it's too big for my wife to hold comfortably) (and only in your right hand; it is not laid out to fit comfortably in the left hand) while jogging in the rain. Or, perhaps, trail running or some ther "edge" sport.
It's big and heavy; about twice as large as it needs to be. This means, among other things, that you can't easily fit it into a pocket.
The cassette bay opens a bit like a submarine hatch, which is to say it takes two hands and a lot of attention to get the cassette in and out. So, you'd think they'd put auto-reverse in it to reduce mucking around (and keep the water out) but they don't.
The volume knob is very easy to find and adjust, but if the Walkman is anywhere but in your hand (in a coat pocket, perhaps?) the volume changes every time you move.
There's a belt clip, which is on the short list of things I need on a Walkman, but there's also a fabric strap to hold it onto your hand with, and the strap, which is not removable, gets in the way of the belt clip and makes it really difficult to clip securely.
It is ostensibly water-resistant (though it's not meant to play underwater) and there's a rubber seal in the cassette bay. I use my Walkmen primarily for bicycling to work in rainy Seattle, and I've never had a problem with any of them being damaged by water. I guess I'm not extreme enough. This would be a useful feature for a kayaker, I suppose, except that a kayaker would have a hard time holding it in one hand, as he paddled.
But it looks great: if you have one of those traffic-cone yellow Nissan Xterras, this Walkman would look really cool sitting on the hood.
Part I: Basically good sound...
Does anyone know what a hold button is for?!

AVLS
I'm Happy!Very Happy, I love the Auto-Reverse feature because I listen to a lot of tapes at work and it saves me from having to stop my work to flip the tape over when side one has finished.

Sorry to say---
Quality?? Customer Service??I went through the company's warranty to fix both problems, and after having the televisions out of my house for a total period of six weeks out of three months, I finally received the set I now have.
During this period, Toshiba reps claimed: that the only person that should be able to hear the sound would be my wife because women hear higher pitched sounds, that since I already had one television replaced that they would not replace another regardless of warranty, that the problems were caused by me or made up, etc. All these claims without even looking at the television. Their servicing agent was miserable.
Overall, this was a bad experience to say the least, and although I'm not willing to say that I would never buy a Toshiba again, one should think about their actions before buying.

Bad Choice
Not so happy with this RCABut the worst of it is that within a year, (apparently) the same problem is back again. At least it looks the same, BUT now the warranty has expired! Needless to say, this is not a good record!
I had a Zenith that was almost 20 years old and a Magnavox that is 13 years old. Neither have ever had to be repaired. But this RCA needs repair twice in less than 1 1/2 years! So, if you're really considering buying one, purchase the extended warranty coverage-- you'll probably need it!
Guide Plus Gold w. G-Link is excellent!

Design Flaw
Can't access the convergence settings! It costs almost 200$ every time for a technician to come and do it.
FLASH FOCUS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. STAY AWAY!
Amazing HDTV for your money.
