Great, beautiful
Wonderful Transparency & ImagingOverall, a stylish, clear and clean sounding speaker with outstanding performance in instrumental classical music and well-above average performance in other genres.
Highly recommended and an excellent value!
The FPS-200 is the Real Deal! These are not plastic toy speakers: these are extremely stylish, avant-garde, flat panel speakers with your choice of luxurious piano-gloss wood or clear acrylic for the panels. The panels are decorated with heavy brass inserts and even have knurled speaker binding posts. Based on a new breakthrough magnetic planar technology, the speakers are flat and compact. The subwoofer is heavy-duty: literally it is a massive brick of a box, constructed of vinyl-clad MDF with rounded edges and a classy, contrasting, recessed acrylic control panel. Even the control knobs have the silky motion found on expensive equipment. The FPS-200 exudes style and quality!
Features:
Tangible stereo imaging and a midrange to die for
Unmatched transparency, clarity and transient response
Exudes style and quality--knurled binding posts with your choice of a solid 1/2" thick transparent acrylic or piano gloss-lacquered mahogany wood panels, rather than the usual chintzy plastic box with spring clips
The subwoofer cabinet is constructed of rock-solid, heavyweight MDF with black acrylic accents, which houses a 5 inch acoustic suspension driver for tight, well-integrated bass
An integral amplifier produces 10 watts per channel for each panel and 20 watts for the subwoofer
Perfect for computer, MP3, and CD use on a desktop or even table top
Capable of extremely loud volume (sustained play of >90 decibels at 1 meter)
Frequency response 70 Hz-30 kHz
Panels are 5" W x 10" H x 1/2" D, and the subwoofer is 4" W x 9" H x 9 1/2" D
Hookup wiring included

Confusing Price
HDTV plasma- like display for a great price!have to say that the picture is far superior to anything I have seen for under $10,000. The LCD bulb lasts for about the same time as the life of a plasma display. Unlike the plasma display
that you now throw in the garbage, the inexpensive bulb takes one
minute to replace and your good for another five years of viewing
pleasure. This technology is a winner!
Well worth the investmentGreat crisp picture in comparison to the CRT based models. Blacks are a bit weaker than CRTS when comparing side by side. This LCD set has a bulb that will cost $$$ to replace after 5,000 hours but that is still better than having to have a technician come in and align the 3 colors for the CRT type displays. The sound quality is good/marginal but if you are going to invest the $ in a HDTV set chances are you have a sound system with all the bells and whistles, subwoofers, surround speakers etc. I don't think anyone will argue that there are any TVs on the market that produce sounds to the extent of a good system. However the TV does make one sound a tiny bit louder than you might hope. The cooling fan for the projection display does make a noticeable background noise. Chances are you won't notice it if you aren't listening for it, but be warned it does make a small noise.
Check availability of HDTV in your neighborhood before purchasing it based upon getting HDTV signals. Chances are you don't need anything more than a HDTV monitor. (Which this is) Your cable provider will be able to tell you what they offer as well as provide you with a receiver/cable box for receiving the HDTV feeds anyways. Chances are there aren't many HDTV channels you can receive with an antenna anyways. Which the need for the cable boxes makes buying a set with a HDTV tuner really obsolete. I love this set and highly recommend it.

Check your Picture TubeWhen making a purchase such as this, make sure that your Wega Tube is aligned correctly, as it can be very annoying watching a crooked picture on a high-quality flat screen.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, but I still think that Toshiba has offerings that are just as good and cost $80 less. I am a Sony purist, so I went with this TV.
Still the best

Very Nice but...
Excellent picture but---
Great TVI purhased a nice Pioneer receiver, Toshiba 5 disk DVD changer and a pair of JBL speakers. The sound is excellent.
Most TV's speaker on their on are not the best anyway. I don't know anyone today who uses just the TV's speakers. But purchase a quality receiver and some nice surround sound speakers and you have once nice system.
The picture quality is excellent. I will always purchase Toshiba TV's. They rank the best in my book.

- 50-inch screen delivers reflection-free picture with wide viewing angle
- Surround sound reproduces original 3-D audio field for improved home theater sound
- Features convenient front audio-video and S-video inputs
- 3-line digital comb filter offers sharp color image
- Includes illuminated universal remote control with batteries

Not a bad deal.Sound is very good, but not great too, 28W plus 5.25 inches speakers sounds loud, especially for bass. And matrix sounds works very well. But human voice volume sometimes too low.
The last thing I need to mention is this TV's speakers can be used as central channel speakers for 5.1 channel DVD movie and you control it's volume through receiver. Although quality is not great, but It will make home theatre looks nice without an extra speaker on the top of the TV. But the in order to use it you have to turn the physical switch on the back panel of the TV, why they don't put it on remote control?
Fantastic for the price!!!

Great Product - but the switch panel stopped working
What a bargainI jumped on it (and the $200 BB warranty). Came on Amazon and could not believe how good a deal I actually got. Enuff braggin.
Setup a breeze. PIP choices are many and awesome. Great on PC, TV so far. Can't wait to run video ins, hook to DVD or X-Box, etc. No complaints. Highly recommend for your next monitor choice.
It really looks very cool sitting on my desk too!
Great TV at this price point.
- 4-inch antiglare, active-matrix TFT LCD screen with 405 x 305 resolution; 5.75 x 5 x 1.5 inches (W x H x D)
- Incredibly portable--approximately the size of double CD
- Single speaker, monaural earphone jack for private listening
- Includes built-in rod antenna and receives VHF channels 2 to 13 and UHF channels 14 to 69
- Runs for about 2 hours on 4 AA batteries (and can also be powered by an optional AC adapter)
Buy one from zShops for: $149.89

Very nice picture in a small packageThe TFT LCD screen produces a sharp, detailed picture and reception is quite good even before extending the rod antenna. Sound from the small speaker is also clear but you can always use the ear jack (mono sound only). The only reason I knocked off a star is because of battery life. Casio's specs. indicate an estimate battery life of 2 hours (4 AAs); that's close to reality, so the other reviewer's recommendation is dead-on: if you plan on watching this often, buy the AC adaptor accessory (MSRP 19.95). A car adaptor is also available.
If you want a portable television with a great picture (that doesn't induce eye strain), buy this EV-4500. It's a great value.
Keeps Me In The NewsTwo notes: it did not come with a power cord and I used rechargable batteries for several months but it got very tiring to replace the batteries every 2-3 days. So, I recommend you buy the optional wall plug, which I now have too.
Also, the set did have to be returned for repair (the screen died) but they sent me a new one rather quickly. No problems so far with this one (knock wood).
Casio TV EV-4500 is a good buy!
Meanwhile, yes, these speakers are wonderful. They look gorgeous (I have the wood not the acrylic), they take up a tiny amount of space, and the sound feels like it's coming out of nowhere and filling the room. A friend has Altec-Lansing flat panels (in the $100 range), and was quite jealous to see and hear these guys, which were judged to be much clearer.
I listen mainly to classical, instrumental music, but they also shine when plugged in the back of the DVD player. On a desk where space is a premium, these really fit the bill.
One downside is the ultraterse haiku-like user manual, but there's not too much to figure out. I think FPS is using these guys to get us hooked on their flat panels so we spring for the more expensive models when we're grownups -- in which case, good job!
