Great TV
Great TV At A Great Price! Both have an excellent, clear, crisp, sharp picture due to their 3-line digital comb filters and easy adjusters. And both have a clear, crisp, sharp hi-fi stereo sound to match. What helps with the sound on both is their separate bass and treble adjusters and hyper surround.
Both have 3 sets of a/v input jacks(2 rear, 1 front), 1 rear audio output jack and 1 S-video input. It has made it easier for connecting a satellite receiver, VCR and DVD player.
I do not get all the local channels with satellite. So, connecting a separate antenna to pull them in and be able to use the dual-tuner picture-in-picture helps with both.
To rap it up, I use the 27" in the bedroom and the 36" in the living room. Both have too many features to cover all them. It is why I suggest also checking ...for more information. And I highly recommend both.
I will mention one other convenient feature. It is both of their universal remotes. They are easy to program. And the owner's manuals for both are clear and inclusive. And at the low prices on this site, I highly recommend checking and buying from this site one of these two. I found both are a lot of TV at reasonable prices. It is based on features and overall quality of both.
JVC TVS are greatJVC is a true 36 inch, it measures 36.5 diagonally where others often fib on the true size. The picture is sharp covering the entire glass, corner to corner, edge to edge. Beautiful picture.
The JVC has all these features:
Comb filters improve picture quality. Less-expensive TVs save you some money by omitting a digital comb filter. This component is important, since it enhances detail and improves overall picture. Try viewing two TVs side-by-side, one with a comb filter and one without, and you'll know why having one is a good idea.
If you plan to use the speakers in your TV (rather than hooking up external speakers)make better internal speakers a priority. Be sure to evaluate the set with a variety of sound sources, including music and action films. The JVC In-set speakers are pretty good but will never sound as good as a stand-alone sound system, so it is recommended you use the audio output ports to drive external speakers.
If you want to control all your components with one controller, this TV comes with a universal remote.
Picture-in-picture allows you to view two video sources at once, with one appearing as an inset in a small window on the screen. If you want to keep an eye on a second program,JVC PIP is essential, this set with two tuners enables you to watch two video sources with no additional hardware.
You can get better color and resolution from this JVC TV that has S-Video or component inputs. Inexpensive TVs use composite inputs.
S-video or component inputs are identifiable by their white, yellow and red color scheme.

Do not buy this TVFor the last few months, the TV would just hang - neither the remote nor the TV controls would work. I had to pull the plug on the TV to restart it. This kept happening every 3 days.
Today, the remote control buttons for the channel change stopped working. I have to keep going to the TV controls to change the channels. This is very frustrating.
I recommend that you do not buy this TV - if you do, atleast get the two year home service warranty so that you can get it fixed if the problem shows up within a reasonable time.

Second thoughtsDownside, you have to have a compact flash card and reader in order to import the updated software. Looking at prices at Amazon this could cost more than half the price of the unit itself. This is a serious shortcoming for this product and my reason for a average rating. I have still not been able to get the unit to work on either of my networks using Windows XP.
Most people keep their photo's on CD's and a CD slot would have been a great feature, even over the assortment of memory card slots they provide. I would believe that most images are moved from memory cards to hard drives and cd's for long term storage and later viewing making a CD drive much more practical.
Very good product, although a bit too expensiveAfter using the Prismiq MediaPlayer for six months (which I have now sold off on ebay), this is a godsend. Even my wife can now use the Roku HD1000.
* Component Video Output of upto 1080i (this is a plus for me as I have an HDTV, although this may not be an important feature to you if you do not have HDTV) -- finally some justice done to my digital photos. Actually, the UI is more readable as well because of the higher resolution.
* Very good UI, although some some features (better playlist navigation, auto-playlists or sort by artist/album/genre etc) are desperately needed.
* Open platform, SDK is freely available. Opens door for 3rd-party developers
* No special server software needed, other than SMB file sharing.
* The company engineers (including the CEO) seems to be listening to the customers and coming up with useful feature updates.
* The only negative feature is its price. At $500, it seems a bit too expensive.
Hi-Res HDTV pictures, MP3s, easy-to-use, and inexpensive.menus. MP3 player displays ID3 tags and can play in the background
while you do other things (like watch a slideshow). The user
interface is clean, minimalist, and easy to use. It finds shared
content on networked drives and inserted flash cards and they appear
in the user interface automatically. Unlike the competition, it
requires no proprietary server software: just plug it in and you are
ready to go. And it costs about the same as competing products, but
none of them provide HDTV output.
The only drawback is that the remote responsiveness is slightly worse
than other electronics, though programming a learning remote from the
supplied remote makes it better.

Wait to Buy this!!!!We ended up exchanging the tv because Panasonic couldn't give us a time frame on the bulb. The new one has been in place for a week and my husband is in love again. I'm reserving judgement for 30 days.
great picture, but VERY noisy fans and 1 bad pixelThe picture is excellent. Easy to use menus (it probably runs linux code because the user manual has a copy of the GNU license in the back). Well thought out connections in the back.
My screen had 1 bad pixel (always on, blue). It's noticable in menus and playing games, but when watching TV you can't tell. I'm getting it fixed under warranty.
The main reason I can only give this product 3 stars: the cooling fan for the light bulb is amazingly LOUD. If you have a big wall unit that will insulate the TV's fan sound, this would be a 5-star TV for you. The noise is making me wish I had bought a quieter LCD-projection or settled for the older but much quieter CRT-projection technology. I don't have the guts to open up the unit and put in a silent fan like you can in a PC.
The 50LCX63 also makes noise when turned "OFF". It's another fan (for the HDTV tuner). That noise probably doesn't exist in the 50LC13, but you should check. But if you're considering the 50LCX63, it's yet another annoying noise you'll have to live with.

Great TV but Iffy ReceptionThis set has only two notable flaws. First, the color, while quite vivid, tends to be slightly green. Second, the tuning circuit could do with an additional RF amplifier stage to overcome the slightly snowy reception on all but the strongest channels. The tuner is a little slow to start scanning when the set is switched on or when changing from VHF to UHF and it easily passes over some stations requiring you to back up the tuning bar to lock onto the channel. Once tuned in, the signal quality is consistent. I hope in subsequent versions of this set RCA decides to upgrade the tuning circuits and set the hue more accurately or porvide a customer control for color.
On the whole this is a good product that should provide many years of dependable service if you don't mind the temperamental tuner. This TV is second only to the Sony Watchman which is still the standard in miniature television.
A fun little TV, but reception may varyHowever, it is possible that reception could be a problem. I've tried the TV in two different places: Southern California, where reception comes through very clearly; and Northern California, where it was dicey at best. As a result, reception is probably highly variable and dependent on geography; make sure you try this model out at your nearest electronics dealer before you spend the rather pricey amount for it.
Excellent reception, image quality
