Buy this television and you can't go wrongFirst off, the sound. This television includes MTS and Hyper Surround, in layman's terms, if you don't want to listen to a movie through your stereo you will decent surround sound from this televsion. The quality of the sound is fantastic. I owned a DVD player for 8 months before I bought a sound system, and the DVD's sounded fantastic through the TV's speakers. The picture quality is also great, with enough resolution to enjoy DVD movies at their finest without having to buy a digital television.
The on-screen menu is very easy to use, and the remote control is well designed. If you own one of the latest VCRS or have a DVD player, you will be pleased to know that along with 2 full-size inputs for video equipment, you get the option for S-Video on one of them, which will increase the picture quality by a lot compared to just regular yellow RCA cables.
For those of you who aren't familar with the latest electronics, and just want a good sized television without a lot of hassels, this is for you. Along with the easy-to-use features you get a great deal, whether off of this site or in a store. A great buy for anyone needing a television. From personal experience, you will not go wrong with this television.
Fantastic TV with awesome soundBe sure to keep the volume low, as the sound may just blow you away.
Great value for money. We recommend buying from Amazon. It is hassle free and economical. We were looking for this model while the shipping was FREE from Amazon. Unfortunately they did not have this model then. It showed up two days after the promotion of free shipping was over.
I wrote to Amazon about it. Expressed to them that I could not place an order when the free shipping was on. THEY SEND ME A CONFIRMATION THAT THE SHIPPING WILL NOT BE CHARGED DUE TO THEIR INABILITY TO ACCEPT MY ORDER.
WHAT A GREAT JOB AMAZON DID. THANK YOU AMAZON.

Excellent splitterThis is a 2 way and works as advertised.
Monster Cable TGHZ-2RF - The perfect cable splitter!After seeing such a distinct improvement in the signal for my primary audio/video system I immediately went out and purchased another one for the computer room to use for both the cable modem and the television in that room. This is the perfect two-way splitter for either a television/cable modem hookup or a television with PIP (picture-in-picture) capability in conjunction with a cable box or satellite receiver!
I highly recommend this outstanding cable splitter to any and all who're interested in getting the best picture available from their television sets or signal for their cable modems. The end results far outweigh the costs for this splitter! {ssintrepid}

Serious reliability problems and terrible service
GREAT EVEN WITHOUT HDTV INPUT
A very sexy set!I love the set! Watching Discovery HD channel is utterly mesmerizing--friends can't believe it and watch slack-jawed (I still do too). DVDs (don't settle for less than progressive scan capability with this set) are equally awesome (current favorite to show off the set is "A Bug's Life"--surreal). You will not be dissappointed in this set, but you will forever notice how poor traditional (nonHD) signals are.
The set looks good when turned off too--silver and sleek. Remote is pretty good and the on-screen menu is very intuitive.

Was NOT what I expected
Panasonic CT-27L8S
Good value, great picture
The video capture mode is a little disappointing, since the short videos I tried to record came out choppy and mainly unwatchable. The video files created by the capture were huge, although I assume you could shrink such a file using various divx encoders. In any event, I didnt buy the card for its capture capabilities, and if that is what you are looking for, I'd look somewhere else.
If all you want is a TV tuner with remote, this is a good buy.
