When I started shopping around for a new set of A/V furniture, I hit all the usual suspects, Ikea, and other local furniture stores. All of the offerings seemed about the same, a large cabinet for the TV, potentially with some side units. I felt this furniture could quickly be dated by the new generation of large, flat TV's so I kept looking.

I found Sanus when I started shopping at A/V stores instead of furniture stores. They have a nice line of very attractive furniture that will still work when if you upgrade to a large television.

This particular television stand has worked out very well. A few days after ordering it from Amazon, a large, heavy box showed up on my doorstep (glad I didn't have to figure out how to get it home!) and I started assembling. Assembly went very quickly. The single required tool is provided and the instructions are clear.

The result is a very sturdy television stand that looks great and is wide enough (about 42") to accommodate some very large televisions. It also supports several hundred pounds, which means you can put large direct view TV's on this and not worry.

I bought the maple version of this stand two years ago. We have one of the 36" Sony Wega TV's on it (280 pounds). It easily fits four regular size stereo/video components on the shelves. I'm very happy with the purchase, but wish it hadn't cost so much.

A very good TV overall. Some of the good features are the S-Video Input and the front and rear A/V inputs. This helps a lot if you are planning on pluging in multiple gadgets (ie dvd player, vcr, video games, etc). The remote is nice and easy to use. The major downfall of the television is the menu system. It is a little hard to get used to and confusing at first. The TV is a little heavy, but of course, it is 27 inches. It is a good sized TV for a family room, i have mine in my dorm room. It is also very nicely priced for a TV of that size, compared to other name brands. The color is good and the sound quality is also very clear. Connecting the TV to a stereo is easy and enhances the sound well. if you are looking for a nice sized TV and brand is not a factor, then i suggest taking a look at this one.

This TV has a good quality picture tube that will work in any small living room. The AV Connections are great (in front and back; S-Video; RCA) to hook up game consoles and DVD from a computer (if you don't own a seperate DVD player). Good TV overall.

Great picture at times, but often shows a dark "shadow" down the center of the screen. The folks where I bought it said it wasn't the TV, but some kind of electrical interference and sold me a $70 surge protector thing. It's probably 90% better now. For the money, I'd hoped it would be trouble-free.

REcently acquired the Aquos 20" LCD Tv from a retailer in New York City (harvey electronics), when I found it a small discount. It's an excellent LCD TV that can also double as a PC monitor. The contrast and brightness are just great to boot and the surround sound is fabulous. I place it on my desk next to my PC so I can watch CNBC and also play DVD movies while I pretend to be working. :) This is a great product. It's expensive but if you have the money, get one.

The Sony 2.5 in. Handheld Color TV (FDL-252T) isn't a terrible buy. The price is good, and the screen is not that small. Yet, there are many bad qualities to the TV.
Pros: Good 2.5 inch screen, nice sleek design,
and good price.

Cons: Bad sound quality, hard to get good picture
reception, and it doesn't come with a case or adapter.

All in all this product isn't one of sony's best, but it fits most needs.

After going through the NYC blackout, unamused, I decided never again. There was no access to news, unless you had the right radio. Bought this little portable TV as backup. It runs on 3 AA's. Also invested in a kodak rechargeable battery system from [the website], since it was highly recommended by other users, and even got a solar-powered battery charger. The screen of this TV is small. But it does hook up to an external tv antenna, to get local broadcast. The adaptor is at any Radio Shack. Also discovered it works with the cable and VCR. For cable TV, you just hook up to the box and the TV will hunt for the right channel to broadcast from. For VCR, use channel 4, for signals, since there's no channel 3 on the TV. In the blackout, the cable company did not go down. The screen is small but the broadcasts clear, and larger TVs will consume larger and more batteries....

this is mini tv i got as a gift. it's made by sony, so you know it will be a good product. one of the innovative features of this product is the "straptenna", that is, the antenna and the neck strap are one and the same. this makes for touchy reception somtimes (you need to not move around a lot) in low reception areas. it also comes with an external antenna jack so you can put a big powerfull antenna on it. i am currently looking for an antenna that will fit it, and i don't think sony actually makes one. i am gonna take it down to Radio Shack soon and see if they can help me.

This is a good midrange 53" with extra inputs.

The PIP (picture in picture) is especially well implemented

I have been thinking about buying a Big Screen for the last 6 months. After previewing the Sony and comparing it to other brands, particularly the HDTVs it was a great buy. I have digital cable and I find that I do not notice much difference between a digital picture signal and a DVD picture (connected with S-Video). The sound is pretty good as well. The only drawback is that the vertical viewing angles are poor (i.e., picture seriously fades when you are standing or laying on the floor and within ~6' feet from the TV (assuming this is typical of most non-HD projection models). However, the horizontal angles are very good and the picture is excellent when you are at eye level (i.e., sitting position on a chair,sofa,...etc).

Given the limited HD programs that are available on cable at this time and the significant premium of HDTVs, this is an outstanding value...

This is a wonderful TV, except for its corners. The day it was delivered, there was a greenish tint visible in the lower left corner when lighter colors were on the screen. I finally contacted Sony about it and they put me in contact with a local TV repair shop to take care of the problem, free of charge since it was still under waranty. They came out, put some magnets somewhere on the inside of the TV, and the discoloration is not as severe, but still visible They told me that the corners of flat screen TVs often have color problems.

Overall, it looks nice but is not as perfect as it should be for the high cost. Be prepared for a possibly incurable imperfection

Great 36" flat glass TV except for a few things. When I mute, it doesn't turn on closed captioning. It doesn't preserve video mode or 16:9 setting per input, or even for inputs vs internal tuner. And it has component inputs, but it can't do progressive display.
