I have the 27" without the DVD player built-in. The picture is great.

One downside of these pure flat screen TV's is that they are H-E-A-V-Y. Make sure you get a heavy-duty TV stand that is rated for it's weight or you may find this weight crashing down on you or a loved one.

Personally, I prefer a separate DVD player so if it goes bad, you don't have to haul this heavy TV into the shop.

Compare to Sony Wega.

This product rates very high because it is a tv/vcr combo which is less hassle than separate units. This tv/vcr has a remote that lets a viewer change from tv to vcr, change channels, adjust volume, etc. This tv/vcr also has an important feature that lets parents monitor what their children are watching. This is especially important in today's society with so much trash on the tube. This tv/vcr is ideal for the bedroom. It comes with an FM radio and alarm clock built in. It also has a sleep timer if you happen to fall asleep while viewing. This tv also includes a feature that serves as a wake-up call. This TV has many important features and gives tv watchers a clear, precise picture.

I was very impressed with this combination. First, it is very convenient and a good way to intergrade old and new technology. You have the VCR for your older movies and the DVD with a clear picture. I really like the sound quality as well. It is easy to create a home theatre with more speakers.

1/31/04 I purchased this stand in December, 2003, with my new Panasonic 50 inch LCD. Appearance and Assembly are 5. Functionality 3 and Value 4. The stand is very well packed and the box is easy to open. In fact, my stand was fully assembled, with the exception of the center shelf. I purchased the stand for $300 (Actually, not a bad price for a custom stand, but I downgraded one point, since the stand functionality is only a 3). This set up works well in the center of a wall or in a corner of my room. The stand easily glides over a carpet, with the LCD TV intact. Also, the height of the TV on this stand is in the optimal position for viewing, from any sitting position in my room.

I like this optional custom stand, but the space for components is lacking. Stand drawback is the limited interior width of 29 inches and limited depth - my amp with all cables just fits within the depth and I can only fit my narrow cable box next to my 17 inch wide amp on the base shelf. My DVD player easily fits on the upper shelf, with room for the cable box on top if desired, but, there is not room for my large center speaker. There is plenty of room for heat release for my three components. If you need this stand for three components and a center speaker, measure carefully before purchase.

The TV is a perfect fit on the stand and is secured on stand pins and 2 rear clamps. The shelf is held in place with pin/set screws. Make sure that you place the shelf in correctly - - one end is rounded to match the front semi circle appearance -- The shelf placement can easily be put in backwards. If you do this, and tighten the set screws, there will be the screw imprint in the poly/heavy gauge plastic shelf.

The front and back of the stand is open. Cable/Wire placement is not a problem. The rear support of the stand has holes in place for cable transfer, but I prefer to run from the bottom shelf area and keep out of sight.

Recommended Purchase if you do not need extra space for more than three components, with a hearty center speaker. The custom appearance and secure attachment of the TV on this stand were my decisive factors. Enjoy. j.

Our 52" projection TV was dying so we initially replaced it with a 22" Panasonic LCD. It was waaaay too small compared to what we were used to, the picture was fine though. So we decided to return the 22" and go for the 32" TC32LX20. This thing is BEAUTIFUL! The picture quality is fantastic and it has a wide viewing angle, much better than our old projection screen. The TV itself is pleasant to look at even when it's off. :) The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the high price. Compared to other LCDs though I think, it's 'reasonable'. A projection LCD would be a good alternative if you want a big screen for much less though they're still not as slim as an LCD or a plasma screen.

Pros:
-Excellent video quality, vibrant colors and wide viewing angle
-Slim for a screen this size, pedestal has a small footprint
-LCDs supposedly have a 15 year lifespan and don't have the same issues plasma and projection TVs have

Cons:
-Very pricey for a TV but worth it if you have the budget for it
-A protection plan is gonna make it even more expensive
-Menus and documenation not as slick as Sony

I bought this TV Wall Mount for a small dorm room (9 x 12). It was quite simple to install but it definitely requires two persons. Also borrow or buy the right equipment: a Stud Finder (installing into a wooden stud is essential), electric drill, and a socket wrench with a stand-off extension ( driving a 2" square head screw into a wall stud takes some effort). Once installed, it feels very stable and swings out and pivots smoothly.

Pro: quick installation, attractive, easily adjusted, sturdy

Con: need the right tools/a little know-how/extra person, no channel to hold wires

If your looking for hdtv for the price this is the one to buy. My wife and I looked at 6 or seven different models,picture wise and clarity and color looked just as good or some what equal to a plasma tv.

I can hand this so easily,Its smooth and fairly big.19 inch is perfect size to have a lot of fun with,most of all when you are in bed.The slot is so smooth too,and so easy to slide my big,great videos into.

I Recently purchased the Philips Magnavox 9P6031C 60 inch TVand so far
I am very pleased with it. I purchased [this set] and saved $300-500
over comparable sets by other manufacturers. The picture is very good
and has settings for movies, sports, or for weak reception which I use
since my cable reception is not very good. I purchased a Toshiba DVD
player and using the component video output into the component video
in on the TV gives me the kind of picture I had dreamed I would
achieve. This combined with a new home theater system has turned my
new rec room into a virtual movie theater. The setup is relatively
easy and the SMART features on the menu offer several easy to access
options.... I would
recommend this set to anyone who wants a high quality set offered at a
reasonable price, and has the room to enjoy it.
