Very high quality, works like a high-speed hard drive in the right recorders (e.g., Panasonic's DVD recorders) or burners. Good price, partly because this is 4.7GB not 9.4GB.

Not only do they look cool (on BOTH sides), they are very durable and problem-free.
So far only Panasonic seems to be taking advantage of this format in their DVD-recorders/players. Due to the incredible versatility of the RAM format, it is unfortunate that other manufacturers are not doing the same.
Panasonic seems to be offering the best prices and quality for DVD-RAMs so I highly recommend this product to everyone using DVD-RAM.

I returned the 1321 when its 2 head VCR component malfunctioned & I ordered instead the 1351. For an extra couple of dollars, the VCR is upgraded to a 4 head unit which greatly improves playback quality. Also, this unit in white is more attractive. This is the perfect bedroom companion! The TV works beautifully, and the VCR is nicely integrated both on the set and via the remote. The adequate (but not great) FM tuner is a nice touch, and the alarm clock feature is wonderful, allowing you to get up to music or to TV. That it has a built-in battery source to counteract a power failure and an auto-time setting feature make it that much more secure when doing alarm clock duty. Overall, this is the Swiss Army Knife of small TVs.

Definitely this model is one of the best 4-Head Combination TV-VCRs I have seen this year. Panasonic traditionally makes excellent 13inch TVs. On a 13inch set the electron gun has a very short distance to aim and deliver a precise image against the phosphor screen. The electron gun can keep very accurate control. The closer the electron gun is to the back of the tube's screen gives it that control to deliver a good sharp picture. VHS tapes look very good. This compact unit has 4 Video Heads, Linear Sound, Commercial Advance and Index Search. Remote is included.

This TV-VCR is great, the picture quality is fantastic. THe AV plugs in the front are very convenient. The remote is pretty good, except that it is not backlighted. Another great feature of the TV-VCR is the NITE button on the remote. THis is for when one is watching the television at night or with no lights and thus the TV will become darker and it will not hurt one's eyes. THis feature is nto only great for one's eyes, but it also puts out a sharper image. THe only complaint i would have is that one of the heads on the VCR makes an audible grinding noise only when a movie is playing. It is fairly easy to drone out, but can be a pain. Overall, this TV-VCR by panasonic is fantastic and definately worth the very reasonable price!

i really like this product. its very cool. it saves a lot of space and the combination of TV and video is what i always have looked for. This model has a pleasing look and iam happy with its price.

When I decided that I wanted a new TV that included the convenience of a built in VCR, I price shopped around major electronic stores like Best Buy and Circuit City. I never thought I would make a major purchase of an electronic product over the Internet. A book, a CD, or a video tape sure but a TV? I don't think so. Oops! I was wrong. :) Amazon.com had the best selection for TV/VCR combos that I could find, and a price that matched or beat even "discount" chain stores. Amazon.com also had a return policy that seemed fair to me, so I decided to try this rather major Internet purchase. And, I'm glad I did...

Now, as to the TV itself, in case this posts in the wrong place I'll clarify that I'm commenting on the Panasonic PV-C2080 in black, which I received yesterday, I am really happy with it. The screen is 20" on the diagonal, which is round about 16" horizontal. I think it's the perfect size for a bedroom TV, which is what I'm using it for. I was concerned that I would need extra cables or another antenna for it like is recommended for some models, but I didn't at all. The only cable I needed was the antenna cable from my old TV that links it to the outdoor antenna.

It was so easy to use too! I just plugged it in, hooked it up to the antenna connection, put the batteries (that come with it) in the remote, and turned it on. The TV programmed itself. I selected the language I wanted (English, Spanish, or French), and then it found the channels and set the clock.

All of the options that it comes with are really nice, like the FM radio, sleep timer, and alarm clock. I can't wait to wake up to my favorite tape of music videos in the morning (by Type O Negative! Sorry... shameless plug). Well, I probably can wait to wake up, but at least it's not an alarm blaring in my ear. I'm still trying out all the features with the REALLY detailed operating instructions booklet, but I haven't found a single glitch as of yet. I was going to get another model originally, the PV-C2020, but for $100 more I also got a 4 head VCR, stereo sound, and an FM receiver. That's a lot of really nice extras that matter when it comes to quality. The sound is really great. I was impressed with the way it "fills" the room even with the volume low, and it's very clear. The picture is great as well, even with low quality VHS recordings, I could see the images as clearly as possible, and with professional recordings it's fantastic. The reception allows me to see stations I could barely see on my old TV with only a little 'fuzz' if any, and the popular network stations are as good as ever if not better. I am really happy with this, and if you're looking for a TV for a bedroom or dorm room, this would be an ideal choice.

Also, for the interior design conscious, the look is really subtle with no hard lines, and the black screen with the black paneled TV just blends in without being obtrusive at all. No matter where you put it, it will look like it belongs there. It wasn't too hard to move around either. I got it upstairs and on my dresser by myself--didn't even break a nail. :)

I was actually very surprised at the quality of the picture and the stereo sound when I first turned on the unit. This model has features not often found on TV/VCR combos, such as a 4-head VCR and stereo sound. The VCR is easy to program, and the remote control included with the set is quite good (it even controls my cable box). All in all a great value.

Panasonic produces excellent 9inch TVs. Smaller screens give you crisper and more brilliant looking pictures. This is a very exact 2-head TV-VCR with monaural playback. Videotapes look really good on this unit. You can take it along with you with the Car cord included for portable AC/DC operation. It has a Built-in FM radio with auto scan and front audio-video jacks which come in handy. This unit gives you incredible picture quality because of its inherent size and design. Videotapes that don't look so great at home look excellent when played on this unit. The picture actually looked very sharp. I highly recommend this set.

This is yet another exceptional combination TV-VCRs from Panasonic. Panasonic has a lock on the 9inch TV market. One reason is the incredible picture quality they have for this size screen. Nobody else comes close. The picture is crisp and sharp. VHS tapes look incredibly detailed. This white cased unit comes with an automobile-chord, which allows portable AC/DC operation if you so desire. It also has front (mono) audio-video jacks for camcorder connection and a built-in FM radio.

This VCR was hard to find in Toronto back in September of 2000, but it's been well worth it. The picture quality is excellent, and operation is smooth and trouble free. New & old tapes play very clean, and the sound is clear & crisp. This unit is home theatre ready meaning that it's the same size other components like stereo receivers. DVD players etc., so it will fit in nicely to anyones home theatre system. It's been really reliable, and I have been happy with the performance of this unit. This model was Panasonic's last made in Japan models for 2000/2001 product year.

This is my second camcorder in 3 years. Panasonic includes many features inside this DVcam with a very cheap price. Compared to a similarly configured SONY DVcam, this Panasonic wins hands down. You can save up to $300! The videos are sharp, the rotating flash works wonders and often I had to explain to my curious friends about the flash as they were fascinated with the design. The still pictures are very clear and the best thing is that you can take night shots in color! SONY can't do that! Definitely a good buy.

I purchased this camera in August 2002 and have used it extensively for the last two months. Fantastic! About me...I own a digital camera and this is my first digital video camera so I needed to do the research to spend the $. You can read the tech info here and the tech reviews at other sites (zdnet.com, bizrate.com, etc.) so I'll keep my review simple:

PROS:
- Compared to several sony dv cameras it has better/more responsive zoom, much better focus, and better/sharper/clearer LCD
- JVC and Cannon reviews left a lot to be desired and hands-on Sony didn't compare although they are a little smaller
- Very comfortable to hold/use -- buttons are well-placed and easy to understand
- Very simple to hook up to TV or computer to review (I recently got windows XP and it works like a dream using firewire *must purchase separate* and the associated software)
- Battery that comes with camera has lasted w/o fail...ran out of tape first!
- MPEG capability is great and all you do is hook up to computer, download and email...super easy
- Still shots recorded on tape do record about 5 sec of sound then camera continues filming

CONS:
- Instruction manual is easy to use for basic camera operation but was no help in advising on downloading to computer

You will find lots of reviews on the 252 but 352 is better resolution, comes with a flash, and a few other extras (compare closely).

I suggest getting a UV filter for lens to protect it (352 comes w/Leica Dicomar lens) a nice camera bag to protect your investment, a firewire to download, and if you don't use windows XP & aren't computer savvy, research hooking up & downloading...my desktop has windows 98 and I (novice) couldn't get it to work (too many periphials etc I think).

Last 2 suggestions...1)buy online and shop around b/c there are cheaper prices out there (I challenged Amazon on their price today b/c I got it much cheaper so watch their price the next few days); and 2) go to an electronic store first to touch/feel/examine the hardware before you buy...many online stores (esp w/cheaper prices) have a shorter return period.

I've had Phillips/Magnavox VCR for over 12 years. It finally kicked the bucket this week. Would not hesitate to buy another one. My TV is equally as old and still going strong. My parents owned a Phillips/Magnavox TV for 20 years. We are sold on this Company's reliability!

For a few years I have had to carry the VCR in the workout room down to the living room. A hassle and a half I can assure you. Well, now that the price has dropped...(I spend more on books than electronics), I am going to buy a second one. I think it is still important to have a VCR to watch all those old movies. You really can't get the same quality on DVD in some selections for some reason.

The newer movies are fine, but VHS seems best for the older ones so far. Plus, who wants to give away all those great movies? Not me! Most workout videos are still on VHS and workout DVD's are just coming out. Philips Magnavox has been a great reliable brand and I can't say enough about this product.

I bought this VCR and was very pleased with it, it has really good clarity on the pause setting,easy to set clock and options. Overall I'm glad I bought this one. Great VCR for the price.

These days its hard to find reliable electronic products but this VCR from Philips is great. I really like the buttons on the front of the unit because we always seem to lose our remote control. The clock will set itself automatically which is usually the hardest thing to do on a VCR. This makes it easy to set up the VCR to record my favorite shows. Its a winner!

I don't actually have this product (it made me rate it anyway, though), but I wanted to mention that I would buy another vcr from Quasar in a second. I was given my grandpa's old VCR from the 80s, since it wasn't cable ready, and he needed a new one. It STILL WORKS! I have not had one single problem with it. It's sometimes kind of nice to have manual control of the tracking, also. It doesn't have automatic tracking, but in my experience, when something goes completely automatic, it's bound to have problems. Oh, my Quasar also has a corded remote. Still, for a company to make a product that lasts for more then 20 years.. Makes me confident of them. Then again, they might have changed since then. I'd still give them a chance, though.

A very good machine at a good price. Lets face it folks, you don't need or want to spend a lot of money on a VCR today considering that any movie buff is now buying movies in the DVD format. The only reason we need a VCR now is to tape TV shows. That being said, this machine has good taping and playback quality. One very important feature it has is that it tapes in all 3 modes, SP, LP, and SLP. I have noticed lately that for no good reason many VCR's no longer have the LP mode, the 4 hour mode on a T-120 tape. I have a high end JVC VCR that doesn't tape in that mode, ridiculous. One thing that bothers me about most VCRs being made now is that you need the remote to use many functions like timer recording etc.. If your remote gets broken you're [out of luck].You can't change the tape mode either. My old Fisher you could do everything with or without the remote control. This is progress? Well, anyway you can't get a better or more reliable VCR than this one for the price and more [higher priced]ones won't show a noticeable difference.
