This product has many defects and bugs in it. My friend had the same product and she said her sound was not working. I went over and her speakers were turned off, so I turned them on and it worked. She said even when the speakers were turned on, the sound for the tv didn't work. I thought she was crazy. A few days later, I installed this product on my computer, and frequently the sound did not work. I had to restart my computer. Also, if you leave the volume on the tv or radio on high, and then turn the tv or radio off, the speakers make many noieses. You have too open the program, and turn the volume all the volume all the way down for the squeeky noise to go away. And then finally, just two days ago, the sound stopped working completely. I could here some noise from the radio but with squeeky noise, but the tv was just making a whole bunch of noises. Now I finally knew what my friend was talking about. This tv tuner has many bugs. I recommend not buying it. I have a Gateway computer with Windows XP, 1.9 GHz, 40 Gig hard drive and 512 MB of ram. All of the windows security updates are installed inlcluding Service Pack 1. I recommend choosing a Tv tuner other than Hauppauge. But let me add just a few pros. When the radio and tv did seem to work fine, the FM radio was excellent. very sharp sound. It doesn't come with an AM tuner. The tv was pretty good too especially when you want to record a program. It saves it too a special folder where you just click on the program saved, and it plays it using real player. However, recording programs REQUIRES AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF DISK SPACE. I recorded the PISTONS basketball game vs. the lakers and it took almost 3 gigs off my hard drive.

But like I said, save yourself time and money and don't buy it.

I have a 2.4 Ghz Computer with 512 MB Ram running Win XP pro. Installing the device was really easy and took probably no more than 10 minutes. The Radio works and TV is pretty good, but the only problem is trying to close down the program WinTV2000 or WinTV32 after watching TV for an extended period of time. Has a tendency of not wanting to close itself down and then crashes Windows when I keep trying to get it to close. Going to keep it though since it's way better than the USB TV Tuner from pinnacle. Maybe Hauppauge will release a patch for this problem later on. Besides the software glitch, it's really not that bad.

I purchased this camera at Sears. Got it home and made a short tape. The video quality is average. The worst thing however is the noise that is picked up by the microphone of the tape mechanism. It is Extremely loud and annoying. This was a deal breaker for me. And I dont consider myself too picky. The software that comes as part of the package is the bare minimum and I probably wouldnt use. I got a screaming deal on this camera and was really disapointed that I had to take it back - but the noise picked up by the mic is very noticeable. Not worth the money at any price.

This JVC digital camcorder is all you need. The stills are good quality and the zoom is amazing. It has many effects that improve the overall quality. Battery life could be improved.

I bought this camera thinking since it was VHS it would perform better in low light (as did my older 8mm)than a digital one. WRONG. It also will drain the battery in 15 minutes. Resolution is poor with VHS mode and svhs tapes cost too much. Noisy tape makes me weary. Don't waste your money on this old"last of the mohicans" format. Just get a digital camcorder and buy a light.My $299. digital Sharp blows it away. I can't hardly give it away. Want mine for $150?

At first the camera looked like it was just a odinary one until i tried it. Wow everything was just so great 700X digital zoom could almost take any distant shot with just a click of a button. This Camera is fully loaded with image stabilizes and inbuilt light the rotatable lcd was simply facinating and it was very clear to me that this camera could take evryshot very clearly especially the image stabilizer comes in handy when you are travelling in a RV or a Car toshoot the outside Nature.
WOW THIS CAM IS REALLY WONDERFUL.

This VCR says that the remote is "multi-brand" compatible...It will not operate a Sony Satellite Receiver, and it will not operate a GE television...go figure! It also claims to have an "auto-set" clock...I have programmed NUMEROUS VCR's, and have NEVER had as much trouble trying to program a clock as with this one. I had a JVC VCR before and was very happy, that is why I bought this one. After calling JVC, and being told that they were "not responsible" if the codes to operate other equipment did not work, I returned it.

Easy to use and great having component plugs in the front.
Easy to read face, plays tapes with no sounds from the mechanisms inside! AWESOME!

I got this because of the price and because I thought it was good enough. Bad decision! I have WinXP. The software doesn't really work on XP like the company website says it should. In face, WinDVR always crashed when I tried to timeshift it. (I have a Dell Inspiron 1100, 2ghz celeron with 256 ddr sdram and 30 gb hd, i should be ok).

TV and radio reception are terrible. I have an 8-yr-old watchman that gets better reception on the same lenght antenna.

The device doesn't play sound from the mic in. I use a freeware program called funnyvoice.exe to play the audio.

AVI capture is not very customizable and results in huge files. I use an excellent program called "VirtualDub-1.5.1.zip" to capture video and compress it with the newest DivX codec. Rather than recording a 3 minute video off the TV at 120 MB, I get it at maybe 20 MB. But all this software that I use to make it work has taken me a ridiculous amount of effort and the quality of the capture or TV is only so-so, even with cable input. Plus, the audio out of the thing doesn't work so I just plug the audio from my TV directly into my computer.

So, now with these two programs I have a decent video recording and tv-watching device, though the quality is still atrocious and the documentation and customer support at kworld is even worse.

Don't get this if you want an easy ride. I'm pretty good with computers and only recently has this purchase stopped driving me crazy (now that I've found these two freeware software programs).

Bottom line: buy cheap, get cheap.

This product is a complete solution for the persons how want to take the old movies colection and transform to mpeg movie, and you can view tv, record your favorites tv shows, vcr and dvd in your computer with just some clicks with great resolution, and you can use the remote controll to change the channels, and video input, also you can ear the radio, this product have all.
Ahhhh I forget you can turn off your pc from the controll remote.

I really recomend this product, if you want to have fun, and to do some video editing, also you can take to your office and install to view your favorite tv show and futbol games.

Pluses:
(1) Very easy to learn and use, attractive interface, like the slider for thumbnail size
(2) Loved the red-eye correction tool
(3) Great price
(4) Liked the fact that I got to try it for free, which is something Adobe does not offer for its Photoshop Album

Minuses:
(1) I think the web album feature is weak. Picasa does not do a good job of optimizing pictures for the web. I ended up batch re-sizing and optimizing my photos in Photoshop before creating the album. The file size from Picasa's re-sizing algorithm was often as much as double of what I got from the Photoshop optimization, with no visible gain in quality.
(2) Really did not like the fact that I couldn't add captions for my pictures while making a web album.
(3) I did not care for the options available in web album formats.
(4) Picasa also crashed several times when I was trying to move pictures to a new blank album. When I restarted, my picture tray was empty even though I had "held" the pictures, so I had to start over.
(5) Not sufficient power to make corrections. The enhance feature worked really well at times and at others it seemed to do nothing. I would prefer more control for exposure and color correction.

In conclusion, I think Picasa's OK for people who just want a way to organize and keep track of the pictures on their computer and occasionally email some to their friends and family. But for more sophisticated user who wants more control in correcting their pictures and wants to create web albums, it does not make the cut.

This is one of the best digital photo archival programs around. One of the nice features is the ability to take a stored photo and print it or e-mail it easily. It's only fault is slight (very slight) difficulty in using the stored image and transferring it to any digital photo editing software. The editing software with Picasa is sufficient but not sophisticated. Overall this is an excellent product.

This unit is the closest I could come to matching VR555, an RCA vcr I have been very pleased with. However, even though VR639HF has all the same features, it does not tell you what is going on in the VCR display window. It is also a very noisy machine when it ejects or accepts a tape. I was also disappointed with the remote, which has no mute or volume control. I miss too, the HI & BYE which I had with the other VCR.

Movie advance is marginal at best for getting right to the movie. Many times it just keeps going forward without stopping. Also, the auto time set feature is very selective as to what cable system it will work with. I could not find one time source station (Time Warner Cable).

The quasi-SVHS doesn't seem to make that big a difference with the unit I got. Pictures actually looked better on my previous and very reliable Samsung (don't have the model # with me), which I had passed along to my daughter. I thought this would be a step up. It wasn't. Wish more info was displayed on the read-out, such as the speed it was recording at. Remote is good, and liked the auto-clock and the programming. Functioned adequately until it went belly up after fourteen months, either ejecting cassettes when inserted, or just gobbling up the tape. BTW, the old unit my daughter got is still running great. Think she'd trade?

This is a pretty good VCR at a great price. I saw a demonstration of this unit. The 19 micron heads delivered a good picture in the EP mode. What I liked best about this unit is that it has SQBP, it has the capability of playing back S-VHS tapes. That's a good feature.

While the system was easy to set up, unfortunately, the DVD player did not function perfectly. On several DVD's I tried, problems like the inability to select certain chapters of a movie, or the picture freezing up, occurred. (I tried the DVD's in another player and could not replicate the problem.) I sent it back and did not bother asking for a replacement product. Also, the buttons for DVD functions on the remote are really tiny and the user manual did not explain things as well as it should have.

While I can't speak with much experience -- this is my first home theatre system -- I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the system thus far. Installation (with my cable box/DVR) was a breeze, the interface is easy to use, and image/sound quality are wonderfully clear. My only gripes: The remote control is too big (large and rectangle-shaped, rather than easy-to-hold), and, according to the documentation, MP3-CD support is limited (filenames must be 8 characters long). I'll be plugging in my iPod instead.

I bought this system when there were no reviews based on:
o Trusting the Sony brand name.
o Impulse Buy after getting a Clie
As to every device, there are pros and cons. Problem is when the cons >> Pros.

Pros:
o System is small, Light Weight.
o Can be placed vertical or horizontal.
o Accepts MS & MS Pro (30 min for every 128 megs approx. at high quality)
o Can record at various quality levels for memory efficincy.
o Line-in and Line-out + RF in.

Cons:
o System ONLY RECORDS, it does not play what you recorded, so playing recordings on a big screen TV is out of the question.
o No remote provided, which means you have to get up every time you want to start or stop a recording. Placing the system in a small space between your TV and DVD player adds the disadvantage of awkward button pressing.
o Way too expensive. for the price of 2 I can get a top quality DVD recorder.
o Recordings do not play on a PC.

Sony always does this,come up with a great product (Clie) and flood the market with prototype add-ons that are discontinued due to 'lack of sales'. I hope this trend doesn't last long.

I love this unit. You can choose to record at, basically, 3 quality levels. The sound and picture are great on my Sony UX-50. Many will consider it an expensive toy, but the quality is fantastic and I enjoy it. For the person that has everything...
