THis is one of the best electronic devices that I have ever purchased. Increadible ease of setup, Fabulous 5.1 surround sound. I just can't believe how well matched this system is. I have sat in $1,000 systems and not heard as good as sound dynamics and clarity. This is a BEST buy and I highly recommend it.

This is my first venture into home theatre and I am very pleased. Having purchased a Rio portable music player a few years ago, and being impressed with the quality of that unit, I was hopeful that this system would reflect the same quality of design and construction. So far I have found this to be absolutely true!

I bought this system to replace my own system I had cobbled together over the years. So I was able to replace my stereo receiver, cd player, vhs player, dvd player, and two sets of speakers, all in one suprisingly compact unit.

Setup was easy and fast. I appreciated the l-o-n-g cables provided by the manufacturer. Some units I have seen only came with 10 foot cables. The manual is very well written and easy to follow. Within an hour I had made all of the connections, placed the speakers, and programmed all of my cable stations (auto- search)and fm radio stations.

So far the unit has performed without a hitch. I like the variety of sound setups, including prologic, which is something not found on many lower-priced (and some high-priced) units. It even has a feature to program delays on the speakers to customize it to your exact room configuration (incredible!).

The remote control is not overly cluttered, and is well laid out. It does not however, control the power on/off for my tv set. So I have to keep that remote handy. It doesn't light up either, which would be useful at night. I replaced an Apex dvd player which had horrible search and control features. This dvd player control is much more intuitive and straightforward.

The only shortcoming for some might be the passive subwoofer. It is fine for me, but if you want really booming bass, better to get a powered subwoofer.

Overall, this is a quality unit that was well thought out by the mfgr. It has the most features and power I have seen on a unit in this price range.

This 8mm Video Recorder has one of the best pictures I have ever seen. It's better than my Beta unit and my S-VHS VCR. The sound is excellent too. This unit is also great for editing. I used to shoot all my training videos for work on 8mm and edit them at home on this machine with very little loss in picture resolution. It's just a very good machine and format.

If you can find one of these units I recommend that you do so. SONY makes the definite 8mm VCR hands down. This is one of the best units I have ever seen. The picture is incredible and has to be seen. It has a much greater picture than S-VHS recorders. Only DVD pictures look better. It has a very precise flying erase head that allows excellent editing for clear transitional cuts. If you prefer 8mm recording I recommend you get one of these units before they are all gone.

The only thing I miss with this device is a MEMORY STICK.

Sony does it again. Backwards compatibility. Now all those 8mm video tapes can be viewed on the GV-D800 4 inch built-in LCD screen, or externally through composite video cables, S-video cables to a TV/HDTV, VCR-VHS/Super VHSor a 4 pin FireWire (digital 520 line video and digital sound) compatible equipment like a DVD recorder (ie Philips DVDR-985 Progressive Scan Recorder/Player) or PC, or Digital8 camcorder.

Dye sublimation photo prints are far superior to inkjet prints in clarity and durability. The picture quality from this cartridge and paper is excellent for the price. Since the paper and dye ribbon are changed in tandem, you are assured prints with no loss of color quality. When time is not an issue, I use an online digital photo processing service. With the Sony printer and Cartridge/Paper, you have the prints immediately! The photo print qualities are truly comparable.

Sony's use of Dye-Sublimation technology produces a print quality that truly rivals traditional photo print processing. With 16 million true color capability, Ink Jet photo printers can't get close to the image quality of the Dye-Sub printers. One common complaint of the Sony Digital Photo Printer is the price of the printer materials (paper and ribbon), but when taking into consideration the superior quality and convenience of printing pictures at home, the material cost is very low.
After years in a dark room printing traditional photo prints, I would put the dye-sub quality up against traditional any day.

i have owned this product since april of 2002, and i am more than satisfied. Performance is great and i have never had a problem with this machine. Highly Reccomended

I did read the many reviews on this site about how slow the hard drive is and how the video card was no good. Unfortunately I read it all AFTER I bought the machine.

How wrong those reviews are. This machine is VERY fast, and can handle very graphic intensive games. Examples: I tried Return to Castle Wolfenstein on this while running a file sharing program. No problem. I ran some mathematical simulation on it for about 12 hours (think 100% CPU utilization). No problem. Video playback flawless. My previous machine was a workstation with a 7200 RPM scsi drive on it and the only thing I notice different on this machine is that it is MUCH quieter than my previous.

I've owned several sony computers over the last 5 years. I can vouch for their quality after drops, dozens of trips with them, and hours of very intensive use. THis machine, after 2 months 'hammering' it, is holding up great.

This is a great T.V., I got it for my daughter and she loves it! I highly recomemend it!

I used it in my car with a special power adapter and it worked perfectly well. I defenitely recommend it.

This is awsome it does every thing and more. i sugest that you also get an expansion card i got a one gigibite card and it holds alot more than what you would think i would also get pocket tunes it plays wma and mp3

As a long time PDA user (Palm OS and Pocket PCs) I was always looking for the latest, greatest new piece of tech. The Zodiac's specs and price impressed me so much that I started my own news and community site for it.

I bought the Zodiac 1 back when they first came out (end of November, 2003). It's compatible with most any Palm OS application and there's tons of freeware and inexpensive shareware apps to be found. While Tapwave is hyping this as a gaming console, it's really a do-everything device. Pair it with a Bluetooth cell phone and you can surf the internet or check your email. Pair it with a Bluetooth GPS and you can use it to navigate you around town or across the country. It has a Yamaha sound chip which gives you MP3 playback superior to an iPod and you can even play music in the background while you play games or do other things.

The library of cutting edge games is a little small right now, but it's growing. And, like I said, there's TONS more that you can do with this thing besides just gaming. But if you do want it for gaming, consider this...it's got a 3.8" diagonal 480x320 pixel screen, an analog controller, several action and shoulder buttons, and support for multiplayer gaming over Bluetooth. And Tapwave isn't being greedy with some proprietary nonsense either. You can use regular old SD memory cards to expand your storage space for MP3s, videos, applications, and games. Yes, you can download games over the internet and store tons of them on one single SD memory card rather than carry around dozens of cartridges.

If you want to take advantage of some of the advanced features, sites like Tapland will help you along. Plus, there's lots of useful game, productivity app, and accessory reviews there.

If you want more built-in storage, you can pay an extra $100 for the Zodiac 2, but my personal recommendation is to get a Zodiac 1 and use the extra money to buy a really huge SD memory card.

Went together in a snap. The pick-up-at-Circuit-City thing was cool... just showed up and everything was ready, no talking to sleazy salesmen. I'll do that again.

This tv is excellent. I bought it to put in the kitchen and to also be able to put it in the van for road trips so the kids are happy and occupied. I originally purchased an RCA model and it was nowhere near this one. The RCA broke down and I replaced it wih this model. The picture is very clean and movies look great on it. I highly recommend this TV! Enjoy.

This is one of the better combination TV-VCRs I have seen. Panasonic and Sony also both make good 13inch TVs. Toshiba's combination TV-VCRs often gets overlooked. However, this is an excellent set and performs equally well. The picture is crisp and sharp. The built-in Digital tracking 4 head VCR makes VHS tapes look very good. You get front A/V (RCA type) inputs with a TV/game switch. The VCR has good high-speed fast-forward and rewind performance. It also has time-shift recording capability and a built-in head cleaner. The front panel features a useful headphone jack. The 'Black' cabinet design is uniquely handsome and looks better than other competitor models.

I have had this TV for a few years now and use it everyday. Its had a lot of good hard use and has proved worthy of a quality product, has a good solid reliable CRT and a great construction. RTest asured that this is a great product, it will serve you for years to come.

We purchased this model of Toshiba 13" TV/VCR recently and are thrilled! It is compact and can easily be put on a shelf or kitchen counter for easy use. A video game system can be easily added using the front jacks! The Toshiba brand name is also one you can trust and the unit is VERY well made. Would gladly buy again! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!
